I'd actually imagine it would be significantly easier, since you could basically just kinda' dig a hole in the ground and be done with it. Or a chute or something. You don't have the same sorts of issues with clogging and whatnot, providing the pipe's big enough.

Now, waste disposal would probably be a nightmare, since plastic isn't particularly biodegradable and it's significantly more difficult to compress and transport bricks. Somewhere in the lego world, there's a mountain of poo blocks the size of the Himalayas, and it grows every day.

uH-- YEAH?  It is SUPER out of character for him?

He is one of 4 wizards sent to arda to ensure Illuvitar's divine plan against the lingering corruption of Morgoth-- and the ONLY one that stayed true to his purpose, over 500+ years of hardship and struggle.
Hardship, struggle, and lots and lots of downtime. Gandalf kicking back for a few days of pipeweed and cake is so entirely not out of character I'm surprised it's even a question. Dude has the time, and the inclination.

Suddenly decidinng, on a whim. to go disobey the great big guy upstairs-- OVER CAKE-- is very much out of character for him. :P
Man, dimension hopping to get some cake is totally not counter to Eru's orders. It's just filling up the interim hours with something interesting. G-man's totally not blowing off hobbit herding or whatev' to visit the cake obstacle course. Just spending some of the boring hours away from the Land of No Interior Plumbing.

Though I'm not entirely sure how effective legoland's plumbing is, either. I mean, there was that fully functioning house, but...

The maiar are perfectly capable of multitasking. Gunpowder, weed, and cake, all while hopped up on the leaf. Gandalf is Renaissance Pseudo-Divinity. Does many things, all well. Only foible is unfortunate predilections towards hobbits. And the massive amounts of narcotics, spontaneous arson, uh. Well, there's a list. If the middle earth actually had a meaningful law enforcement system, dude would be up for a few human lifetimes of jail time.

But can you think of a legitimate reason that a wizard from middle earth would abandon his mission there, to go play with a computer to try and win cake?
Considering several (all?) of the middle earth wizards weren't even remotely human, and could definitely spare some time in the interim moments to chill for a little... several reasons. Many. Hell, gandalf could be taking a mo' to rest up from dimension hopping/time traveling while he picks up high grade gunpowder for his fancy fireworks. Even lesser gods need the good stuff, yo'.

Think that usually means, "It might work, but if it doesn't, you can screw right off mate." No actual support support, basically. Or it works for some controllers and they can't be arsed to do anything about the rest. That sort of stuff.

Probably kinda' irrelevant, honestly. If it doesn't have some kind of cheat protection that freaks out over joytokey or somethin', anything has controller support. Friggin' Opera has "controller support" -- one of my j2k profiles is set up for scrolling around webpages with a controller. Navigated around B12 a bit with one before :V

Mm. Yeah, looks like the IDH disappeared off somewhere into the aether. Coulda' sworn I already had it at some point, but eh. Already had the other two for the earlier version of UA, and they haven't been updated since, soooo...

Yeaah, updated. Assault scarabs are both locked behind the summoning core and significantly weaker (like, their health has been right at halved, comparatively) now.

Mind you, after a test game, they're still apparently able to take down early game infantry with like no effort, and they still do a number of weaker buildings, but turrets are definitely better against 'em and them being flimsier and faster to reinforce means they're even more micro heavy than before to keep alive (which is irritating like you wouldn't believe ;_;). Still nasty little bastards for their cost, though, and really good for screening for warriors or whathaveyou, early-ish. They'll take out scouts or tac marines one to one without much trouble, just as an example.

And agreed the death lord's voice is just... yeah. Also hella loud. Though I do like they've got the arks in now. Was playing titanium wars a bit before and those things are quite nice.

Now I just need to see about getting the new races to work. Ruddy thing's crashing when the game loads, when I try. Hopefully it's just a config file or somethin' I've forgotten to fix up.

Oblivion also has nehrim, which is reason enough to pick it up t'me. Falls under the mods category, but still.

I'm pretty sure it's the trees that do it for me, really. The forests in nehrim are just wonderful.

Though yeah, oblivion was decent enough. You just need to mod those faces out for something less pillsbury doughboy, ugh. And fix the scaling. Both of which are pretty trivial nowadays.

Total pipedream mind, but the idea is so radically silly, and yet might be possible, that I cant help but love it for all its nonsense.
Yeah, it's a thought. Of course, let's be honest here, you'd probably see more use for that sort of biotech in the fetish field than you would actual critter creation (unless it's for extinct or endangered species, anyway). We've got (substantially) more kittens than we know what to do with already, heh. True for many species, that, really...

But no womb pods of debauchery. We don't have those. We would, in that scenario. There's definitely a market for it.

Getting back on topic, I'm 90% sure I saw a dating sim about that a while back.
About romancing a clone swarm?

My, but that's excessive. Also I totally need to update. I don't think the version I have even has a death lord...

Though in other news, I did just find out that two assault scarab squads and a (free) gauss turret more or less steps over an early game SM commander (and everything else SM has to offer at that point, apparently. Also, two gauss turrets with one upgrade, and about four scarab squads will drop a dreadnaught with no losses and little energy cost reinforcing the scarabs. Good to know!). It... it was kinda' sad. If things haven't changed between 1.7-something and now, necrons definitely don't seem to have an actual early game problem, at least vs. quite a few other races. Those freaking scarabs are ridiculous -- fast reinforcing on the cheap, no actual cost besides time for base recruitment, very fast (plus they jump!), actually pretty effective versus most peripheral buildings (turrets, listening posts, etc.), ridiculously good at tying up squads... they're just kinda' silly for a zero energy recruitment unit. Throw in units that actually deal damage and it's just a bit of a nightmare, apparently.

... so that's, what. Pro, con? Neutral? Are you or are you not saying you like to take it in the face?

14172
... so should we expand the contention to all comers, or just agree that the only appropriate thing to do with a US president is shove them in a box, toss the box in a peat bog, and set the whole thing on fire?

They've already been warned about overloading us.
Maybe grab up whatever's on hand that is heavy and blunt and go press-gang them into helping you guys out? That would solve two problems with one cudgel. The work gets done faster, and they're either too busy or too unconscious to add more to the queue.

Not even remotely? The ruling was about whether an estonian law was incompatible with EU law, not really anything else. They came down saying that publishers of unlawful content can't claim article 10 (freedom of expression), but that's... about it. It has no legal standing, there wasn't any laws passed, and other than maybe being used for justifications later on, it has no influence on anything at the moment.

It's worth noting that particular ars technica article is basically complete shit.

... there's still people alive that remember teddy? They'd have to be at least a 114 years old... which, I mean. There's a small few (going by the wikipedia page on old people, at least seven that are still kicking and 114 or older), so he counts.

Lincoln definitely doesn't count, though. Living memory is a pretty specific term, and I'm fairly sure there's no one still kicking that was alive in 1861.
