Heeeey. Second Avernum rejigger's at half off. Right at 10 USD. Know it'll be cheaper in a later sale, but it's still pretty tempting. First makeover was pretty golden, and I faintly remember the plot from the second being somewhat more interesting than the first. Still probably going to hold off, m'self, but...

I'unno, poh, I'm sure at least one or two of them are sufficiently aware of environmental issues to know they're potentially apocalyptic (to roughly the same extent as a biblical one, anyway) and still working contrariwise to them. So cheer up! You've probably got grounds enough to assume some of your friends are doing things they think will bring about the end of the (human) world.

E: And now I can't figure out how to make a gender neutral version of this. Argh.

Don't be bored,
be a bro!
Know your friends bring the end of snow!

And yes I'm entirely aware that's not a good representative of most near-future predictions of potential environmental devastation. Not the point. Point is to be catchy and close enough.

It was 75% off on GOG a few days ago.
Huh. I didn't even know it was on a platform besides steam (and the game's actual site, I think). Folks should have gotten it then, then :P

Though it does seem like some people have trouble with the controls, for some reason. I found 'em pretty darn slick, m'self. Generally quite easy to get around, platform, fight, etc. Looks like there's a demo, if someone wanted to check it out, first. No clue how the demo stacks up to the actual game, though. At least going by its release date, it's probably pretty significantly out of date compared to the latest patch.

Batman doesn't drink.

Neither will I.
I looked up Batman facts to prove you wrong but it turns out he is indeed a teetotaller.
Not exactly. One of the various story arcs involving an older bruce starts off with him as a straight up alcoholic. Dark Knight Returns, I think. Batman isn't actually a teetotaler, per se, he just doesn't drink because of the whole peak physical condition thing. If he's lost reason to maintain that, he's not particularly adverse.

Ooh, valdis story's half off. Probably could get it at a better discount but I'd definitely say it's worth seven fiddy USD, much less even less. Quite nice metroidvania style game, very pleasing combat system.

If it's windows, you should be able to run dxdiag and find out, I think. Just kick it on and check the display tab. No clue if that still works on 7+ or whatev'. But before that, you just hold down the start menu button, press r, and then type in dxdiag and click ok.

What's the benefit?
Herpes pandemic for the undesirables among your country?

*shrugs* Why not? You got a problem with cows? Cows are pretty awesome. You can eat them, and they provide milk. Plus they can easily kill you but are generally pretty gentle and whatnot, it's nice. Not bad as livestock goes.

*waggles hand* The classes included are pretty fun, there's neat lore, new artifacts... it's not bad. That said, my advice on the DLC (and the donator stuff) is to only get it if you want to be sending some money to DG, not so much for the material itself. I'm not really sure if it's worth money in and of itself, even at 2 USD -- there's plenty of straight up free class addons that are also pretty enjoyable, without actually having to splash cash for it. Consider it as a donation with benefits, basically. If you've been looking to donate a little, it's a good excuse to. If you haven't, maybe don't bother.

Heey, interesting. King's Bounty stuff looks like it's going for 80% off. Space rangers is sub 4 USD, if someone out there that wants it doesn't have it. Infested planet's going for 67% off, at right under 5 USD... I'd probably say worth it, at that price. That newer shadowrun thing going for three bucks for the base game. Defender's Quest for 5... one of the more solid TDs I've seen actually sold, imo. Looks like the Commandos stuff is going for a dollar or so... total. Space Empires 4 for like 2 USD. Spiderweb software's stuff is going for cheap again, if anyone cares (in a bit of hilarity, the entire geneforge saga is going for the same price any one of its component parts are :V). Lotta' pretty decent stuff in the sub-5 category, really.

Chronomancers don't have bugs, they just have anomalies, is the quote faffing about the t4 forum in someone's sig :V

In other news, this doombringer's loot luck has been almost silly. I've currently got a 90% chance to daze and a 90% slow on melee before hitting level 20 and clearing OF. Plus some other stuff! Gloom chance, armor corrosion. It's pretty great. Could also swap 30% of that daze out for chance to blind, if I wanted to (which I don't, daze is a freaking incredible debuff).

That... is actually kinda' annoying. There's a stree overlord, which isn't a game at all, and street overlord, which is.

And pk spelled the google search differently than the post initially mentioning it, so there's now no actual clue if pk's talking about the "performance" enhancer or the ZC-780 game. Or both, I guess. NJ's first post in response is a very relevant one.

E: I'm now wondering what the hell stree even means. There's apparently three different movies with that exact word as its entire title.

And... it looks like it's an obsolete word for straw? What?

E2: Why the zog would you name your dong booster "straw overlord"? Is there some kind of virility symbolism behind straw I didn't know about?

E3: That would make like no sense, though. Straw is what you get when your plant dries up and dies. That's, like. The opposite picture of what you're aiming for, there...

Best suggestion I would have would be to just turn everything down. All settings to minimum. After that, maybe try swapping UI styles -- I know a version or two back there were substantial performance issues with classic, ferex. After that check and see if you actually are getting memory leaks of some sort... there's definitely at least one edge case I've ran in to (Scrolling up the message log, though that mostly nixes the massive memory bloat after you close the log, instead of requiring a restart) in the current version.

... and after all that, try asking over on the T4 forums, if you haven't already, heh.

And yeah, TWs are pretty great nowadays. My only regret is that the dogs are Cs instead of Zs. Dat lack of zephyr hound ;_;

E: Well, that and the fact they the game breaks if you try to run a dark fae time warden, which is the damnedest of shames. Seems to happen whenever one of your racial clones gets frozen or somethin', after which everything goes to buggery and your equipment starts getting deleted at more-or-less random. Really unfortunate, because the only thing better than time clones is time clones that cause racial talent clones to appear that cause more time clones to appear, all of them throwing more arrows and blinking around the place and basically turning the level into a danmaku stage.

Hey, you know how it goes. What have you done for me recently, and all that. No one's left alive from when napoleon was rampaging, but there's still a handful kicking around from WWII and whatnot.

And ninja'd, but eh.
