... I'm just going to note to myself you consider a great deal of science to be stupid, serg, and... move on.

So the general physics field has actually came down on it being a force, then? Know there were some faint issues with einstein's GR theory they were still working kinks out of, but it's another one of those "Last time I paid attention was years ago" things, and back then they were still having trouble saying anything more substantiative about gravity than what it (probably) is doing.

A question of "what something is" is a philosophical question, not physical.
Pretty sure the periodic table of elements would disagree, there. Along with atomic theory, a great deal of physics, chemistry, material science, etc., etc., etc. "What the zog is this thing" is one of the more fundamental scientific inquiries, mate.

Not that making the distinction is really meaningful, since science is just a particularly successful branch of philosophy :P

You might have been more accurate to say it's a question of metaphysics instead of physics, but I'd still say that's... fairly wrong. It's both, it's just that the two use different sorts of heuristics as a basis for answering the question.

Don't know if that explains what gravity is or if it just explains what it does but whatever it was fun to type that.
Nah, I've seen that explanation before... would say is more of the does than the is, but more than that do we actually have confirmation of sorts of that particular scenario? I've legitimately forgotten. Been a while since I've really paid attention to that stuff.

... have we actually figured out what gravity is while I wasn't paying attention? Last I checked we knew a lot about what it does, but were still kinda' drawing a blank on what it is.

Huh. Crispier looking than I'm used to seeing banana bread. Hardly matters, banana bread is freaking delicious

Almost looks like you could take it to the next level by glazing it like a donut, though. The surface texture looks kinda' like one of those donut stick whatsits.

Or just outright make a banana bread donut. I... think I need to figure out how to do that, one of these days...

Time management. Eesh. Meeting with some family tonight. Original meeting time was around 3:30 pm. Got called about twenty after two; said they might be early, go ahead and make sure to be ready to head out.

It's now past 3:45, a quarter hour and counting later than the original meeting time.

It's, like. Okay.

I think we have different conceptions of what early means. Maybe. Jussalil. Generally it means you arrive before the stated time. Not be less late. that doesn't count

Might would be irritated if it weren't so stupefying. Should have been expected, I guess, one of them operated as my transport back in high school, and is the primary reason I was late to school probably something like a third of every year. But. Still. Time thingies.

Ayup. It actually looks like it originated in the UK, interestingly enough.

Of course, anything approaching being treated with human dignity is seen as "encouragement"...

There's a saying about alternative tugging and bells.

That feeling when you're not sure if the headache is the neurotoxins or the sleep deprivation (or maybe dehydration, I'unno). Freaking bugs. Why did you make us wage chemical warfare on you? Couldn't you have just starved to death in peace?!

Make a separate account for those ones?

A series of very short shorts :P 12 episodes, but the episodes are two minutes long.

As for its virtue, I'd say it's middlingly decent, if somewhat mildly NSFW. Amusing enough for its length, basically.

I'm personally coming down on the side that states that anyone claiming to agree with Jeb "Let's Completely Fooking Destroy Florida's Education System" Bush is in fact playing at satire and/or sarcasm. Otherwise they wouldn't have the necessary brain power to continue to breath.

For these moments, as per usual, I recommend the sarcasm font, georgia.

I think that ~half hour video is most/all of it, so... won't hurt much to just gander.

Might hurt a little, but not much :P

... there's days I wonder if I shouldn't go spend time on reddit just to have an idea what the hell you folks are talking about.

Then I actually remember what that seems to do to people, and remain firmly avoidant.

Eh, not if they're young enough. The cubs are pretty harmless, especially if you've got some nice thick gloves. Less dangerous than a maine coon, really. Could probably manage it with an adult, too, if you knew what you were doing (and that's discounting, y'know, tranqs). Large cat psychology is fairly well known, last I checked. There are situations where petting a tiger isn't an invitation to dinner. Not necessarily a lot of them, but they're there.
