Think you mean a year or three past, RK. Technically they missed their target, but...

Does look like younger kids getting zapped isn't exactly uncommon, though. Toddlers appear rare, but pre-teen? Not common, per se, but it apparently happens often enough it's worth noting.

E: Also looks like there's a handful of news reports out there of pregnant women getting tase'd. Forget toddler, they're going for the unborn :-\

Really probably shouldn't be talking about it in the OOCQ thread, but the answer is that it depends on the state. Some have weapons-other-than-guns laws, some don't. Weapon laws are all over the place in the US, there's not much of a federal-level mandate regarding them. The answer to pretty much any legal question regarding the US is "Check your local laws." Most states that I'm aware of have a full listing of the legal code available online, these days.

That said, concealed carry permits often cover more than guns. You actually have to have one to legally (not that it stops many people) carry a pocket knife in many states, and I think it applies to a few other things, too. A collapsible halberd (i.e. one you can conceal) might fall under their purview, depending on locality.

Up to a point it can be. Not always, and the aftereffects are often such that it's not even remotely worth it. It's not entirely without its upsides, though.

The accomplishment thing, on the other hand, is an illusion. You'll get more things done in one go (maybe, and probably of significantly lower quality), but if you try to us that regularly you'll almost certainly get less done, over the period, just because of how badly it screws with you. As magical as the hallucinations can be, consistent, regular, and healthy amounts of sleep is the much greater magic.

Also please don't drive anywhere, if going to uni involves that. Walk, take bus, get someone else to take you. Driving while sleep deprived is almost as bad as driving drunk.

E: I'd also like to state for the record that Ogre Battle's music/sound effects are nostalgic as all hell. Recently started playing a hard-type mod/watching a longplay of the game, and good gods it's right in the long term memory ;_;

It's a magical phone that doesn't have text or internet. Also it sometimes works when the power's out! Unless you've got one of those newer wireless ones, then you're probably SoL.

Time to beat the music puns into the ground, it seems.

E: Really should have used scat instead of shoo, shoo, though. It would have kept the trend going.

Mmm... I usually tend to roam around with street view in the area I'm fairly sure the whatsit is at. As you note, sometimes they're not on the record, but they've usually been picked up that way anyway. Just have to scan for signs or whatnot. Takes a little more time than just searching for it, but usually less than driving out or walking, ha.

... huh. There's a robotech/macross shout-out in Tyrian 2000. SDF Main Gun is available as a special weapon type thing. I... didn't know that. Now I do. Neat.

Yeaaah... yeah. It's. Look. When the choice is between getting nothing and going in raw, there's going to be a lot of folks that shout free willy and charge forward. Internet syphilis is better than no internet, to many people.

A bit of thinly sliced red leicester would go down a treat, 'specially with a bit of gherkin. Semi-melted for best taste.
I think the obvious answer to me is to just put on everything in the poll. Maybe whatever else is on hand, too. Cheesepocalypse the sheepburger. Or sheep up the cheese sandwich, I guess.

Are stalin's legs as amazing as rumors purport?

Hey, safe sex practices are important, av. Arguably especially towards the demographics that are somewhat more likely to be using free wifi.

@ that first one, true, I think remember that a little. Dude in question was actually like a half-hour or something late to an appointment he had made previously, iirc, and was apparently intent on sitting around and waiting instead of doing any of that reschedule-appointment-like-sane-person stuff. Forget the exact details, but it was more than just on the advisor's part -- there was some poor behavior on the student's end, as well. Still could have been handled more effectively, obviously, but there was more to it than just asking for the services paid for.

... considering the suicide (and homicide against) rates for those who actually struggle with that sort of thing, the difference probably isn't as much as one would hope.
