... Ichigo is like the posterboy for mary sue, isn't he? Like... entirely. One of the more recent-ish examples that hits pretty much every point right on the head. It's not "like" he is one. He is one.

*fistbump*

Lovely little program, that. Very useful~

E: There was a C.O.W. Boys of Moo Mesa arcade game. It... it's terrible(/terribly mediocre), but.

E2: Jeez, I had almost forgotten that show's opening song. It... it was good.

I'll note again that no one would be forcing someone to perform a wedding. They would be required to officiate a marriage to all applicable people to maintain their license, but no more or less than that. A licensed Baha'i priest-equivalent should not have to perform a Baha'i ceremony for any couple, but so long as they are an official of the state (in the country/governmental sense, not US states), they should be required to officiate as per the state's mandate. There's no point I'd recommend forcing people to perform religious ceremonies they do not wish to, but if you're going to become a licensed affiliate of the legal administration, you should not be a allowed to discriminate beyond what the law does.

Marriage is both a religious and a legal institution. People can do whatever they please with the former (barring illegality, anyway), but having special sanction for the latter should come with appropriate responsibilities, y'know? Don't like it, don't get licensed, perform your ceremonies, and send your people to a judge afterwards. I'm relatively sure working through some paperwork and getting a certificate brought in is not against Baha'i precepts. I'd hope their religious union involves a bit more than that, anyway.

I don't think you should be able to force a religious group to perform things that are anathema to their religion in their own sanctuaries.
Neither do I. I do think, however, that if you're going to give them special privileges to enact legal ceremony on site/through the church, that they should be open to all who can be covered under that ceremony.

Would never say a church would have to perform a marriage ceremony they don't want to. Would say that they have to if they want to keep certification or whathaveyou to perform legally binding ones. They want to keep their relationship with the law, they can change their practices to be in line with it.

And yeah, the religious aspect is different from a caterer or a bakery. The legal aspect is not. I'd say it's fine to tell 'em to shape up or lose the extra revenue. They're perfectly welcome to perform religious ceremonies that don't have legal backing, as they always have been.

And that's obviously not what I meant. I meant, it's fair enough to say the Church can marry gay couples. It is another thing to say they must.
And a third to say they must if they want to offer legally recognized marriages. Not sure which ireland went with, but I'd be most comfortable with that third, myself. Churches that don't want to are perfectly capable of having the ceremony and then shooing the couple towards a judge or whathaveyou to make it legal.

... legit question, was there actually anyone running that would have supported a crack down? I barely remember that election cycle.

Having watched pretty much the whole thing, I can mostly tell you that town HP thing influences the chance of a successful training (along with stress, insofar as I could tell). If your HP bottoms out, you're probably going to fail that day (and regain a little HP).

Now you know!

If all it took to get snow was to buy the weather fairy a drink, I'd be drowning that vicious bat in a bar. Get somethin' white on the ground that ain't cotton fer once.

So I'm apparently watching a playthrough of the (a?) 3DS Shantae game. Player gets to this couple, one of which has been petrified by a dread pirate's curse. Does stuff, gets the ancient spell that did the deed. Brings it to the unpetrified half the lovelorn pair.

Dude promptly reads off the spell, petrifying him, too. You'd think that'd be enough -- united in unending stone-encased horror -- but no. The combined weight of the two crashes through the ground, sending the pair plummeting into the depths. You follow after, and all that's left is a pile of rubble at the bottom of the drop.

It's, like. Holy shit. Game, you've been fairly lighthearted so far, and now you just brutally murdered two people. Not even haha comic silly "just kidding :V" murder, either. Stone cold dead. Not even enemies! Sympathetic characters, one of which just wanted to save his lifelong love from a terrible curse.

---

Let me also say that that game has one of the sickest bass lines I've heard in any game, which is just really gorram weird to see in something made for a handheld. It's got some pretty damned pumping tunes.

I'd be pleasantly surprised, but the breath remains firmly unheld. You don't really see anti-corp measures from either party. They're both pretty firmly pocketed, if in different ways.

It... it was pretty clearly as a means to demonstrate how having 200+ people in the local area could interfere with a 3 year old's normal happiness-acquiring methods, such as taking a nap when tired (which they still do fairly often at that age).

"Dad, what's an epoch?"
"Well daughter, it depends on who you ask... it's a time machine, used by Chrono to help defeat the dread being Lavos and save the future from destruction."
