Hey, maybe halfling biology just works like that! It'd be a neat detail, really.

Yeah, I didn't like eating or drinking around people/outside the house/car anyway, so... yeah. It probably helps in my case it hasn't actually impacted my usual behaviors much, heh.

I think I've gotten used to mask wearing enough at this point, I actually kinda' like it. It's not too bad, especially with a nicer fitting one. Don't think I'd mind it just being standard practice when outside the house, going forward.

today, a relative is learning that the first rule of dementia poker is that there aren't any rules in dementia poker except to keep the players from sticking the cards into their diapers

And maybe using one "flavor" (salt) packet per two bricks, or better yet, some miso paste.
Like, when I started experimenting with seasonings, I found you can pretty easily stretch one of those packets out over like... 8+ other meals, and still taste plenty strong. You don't need one packet per two bricks, you need one packet per like dozen bricks. There's just way too much goddamn salt in those things.

While back we got one of those anti-bark collars (not a zappy one, but lets out a fairly loud noise when the dog gets too loud) for the dog here and, like. It works pretty well? Might give it a try if it becomes a significant issue.

in personal wtf, I'm starting to think my boss has a vendetta against packing materials. Came back from being sick for a few days and they've yet again yeeted all the boxes and packing paper (and the reusable mailers, which were previously left alone) we were keeping around to ship stuff with. It's now something I have to talk to them about instead of just an odd quirk, because they've managed to toss a bunch of stuff we, like... needed to do our job. There's things we just straight up can't ship out at the moment, due to them chucking everything we had big enough to fit it.

... it's extra problematic due to us having built back up a decent stock of boxes. Think somewhere over a hundred bucks worth of usable boxes and miscellaneous other packing supplies got trashed this time, which is, just... yeah.

Oreos are best once they've basically gone stale and turned kinda' squishy, tbh. Their out of packaging state is thoroughly bleh.

How many people actually toast poptarts? Toasting them doesn't really make them better so they're more of a thing you can stick in your mouth in the morning / when you're lazy and desire sugar.
I've done it occasionally. It doesn't necessarily make them better, but it does make them different, and sometimes that's enough, y'know? Plus if you're doing something fancy you might want it easier to melt things on them, like marshmallows or whatev'.

I mean, you don't have to. You can also just not eat the frosting (this is actually one of my preferred ways to do it, because the things are fine without and then I can put the frosting on something else later, like toast or whatev'), or just eat the frosting straight from the dispenser. You don't have to put it on the pastry.

Y'know, I once saw some crazy fellow suggest biannual (that is, twice yearly) general elections was a good idea, a possible cure to voter turnout woes. No breaks, no off season, every month is campaign month, every other ad political, forever.

I never quite managed to understand what hell they lived in to want to inflict that on everyone, but it was definitely the outlook of the damned.

They may have been right that it would fix turnout woes, though. If everyone's killed themselves or fled, total voting participation would indeed by 100% of the 0 remaining citizens :V
