I'll admit I haven't watched, like, any of any of the getter robo animated material, but from what I understand from SRW, hasn't the getter robo stuff always been a cosmic horror story? Getter rays are some wonky junk.

More or less. Potatoes, tomatoes, and several sorts of pepper are all part of that family of plants.

... so is tobacco.

E: I'm actually eating something with some sort of green pepper in it right now! I didn't realize it had them when I cooked it. This thing tastes goddamn terrible. Cannot stand the taste of fleshy peppers. Still gonna' eat it, 'cause I cooked it, but blegh.

Dream brain, I'm not quite sure why you had a sci-fi short story as part of a lawyer's legal notes, but... thank you, I guess? I've already mostly forgotten it, but that was pretty neat.

THE sunglasses describes like... I'unno, fifty or sixty different anime/manga series. At a minimum.

Characters with distinctive shades are not exactly uncommon, heh.

Would say th'one Ore mentioned is probably the one most in common memetic usage at the moment, though. Or was for a while.

Hey, don't diss on spreadsheets like that. A properly setup one is very user friendly and intuitive to use. Implying they're necessarily as bad as aurora is just misguided :P

At least seven or eight times, yes. Don't think I've actually broke a dozen, but it's definitely possible.

Not the exact one, though. I've never used the term "ossification poo" before. The wording varies.

To be fair, a MOBA is, by definition, a DOTA clone. They'd still be called DOTA clones if whatever marketing dept. didn't make up the new term.
They're all AoS knockoffs. Including DotA. Especially DotA, since it's largely the one that shat all over the genre with ossification poo to begin with. People were actually trying fairly interesting things for a while, then DotA bots came in and crapped all over WC3's custom maps scene and that was basically the beginning of the long twilight of AoS we're still humping around in.

One day, a bright dawn will come, and people will realize the massive untapped potential of the game style. That day is not this day.

Hey now, they could be from a third world country or the US or somethin' and never actually saw the distinction made in a science class. Or either really mentioned much at all, from what I can recall.

It's also entirely possible to pass every science class you encounter and forget what density or strength is in short order, especially if knowing what either of them are to any precise degree is utterly irrelevant for th'person's day-to-day.

Which, uh.

Most people don't care and have no need to care, so it happens a lot.

Didn't you know, neo? Lex isn't just in an anime, lex is in every anime. He's the main love interest. Always. Flesh suit of a lovestruck harem member, heart of a tall bald man bent on world conquest. Plans within plans. Plans. Within. Plans.

He just happens to have a role outside of disguise in that one. Incredibly versatile actor and crossdresser, though. The great unknown talent of animated media.

We produce carbon dioxide, sure, but how does it compare to the output from volcanos and other nonhuman organisms?
Well, if you'd actually check, you'd know the yearly CO2 output of humanity just for vehicles has been matching the total output of volcanism over the last few centuries millennium, for a while now. Each year, if that wasn't clear enough.

Sadly, there's no statistic out there that can be twisted hard enough to make a molehill out of humanity's greenhouse gas mountain.

Here's the last time I recall that volcano bullshit popping up last, actually. That was a fun afternoon.

It's already been mentioned earlier in the thread :V

... though the fact that there's two (and like one fifth or something) panty shots in that image should also be kinda' telling.

Really, from what I understand (and barring outliers like runaway methane poisoning the atmosphere or somethin') the major thing to expect on a local level isn't going to be a notable increase or decrease in temperature (though that is going to happen in some places), it's going to be a notable disruption in previously consistent weather patterns. We're looking at increased and increasing meteorological instability more than just about anything, in the relative short run. If you're seeing unseasonal weather, well... that's one of the predicted incoming effects. Some places are going to get colder as the global temperature rises, or have their seasons more or less shift. Which should be frankly goddamn terrifying, but I guess cranial/silica embracement is comforting to some people.

You can also expect stronger storms in a lot of places and the good ol' sea level rise (we're seeing pretty strong indications it's going to be notable this year, actually -- we're having either record matching or record breaking arctic melt at the moment, iirc), growing desertification, and just a whole host of things that are, well, showing every indication of happening.

It's actually a significantly greater ethical issue compared to racism, honestly, because the constant attempts by deniers to sabotage and undermine folks trying to keep our entire goddamn species and great swaths of the biosphere from dying is, y'know, making it notably more likely we're going to cause our own extinction (or at least civilization destroying) event in damnably short order. Incidentally, undersea methane release has begun to pick up speed :-\

Frankly, if I had to choose between a racist and a climate change denier in power, I'd choose the racist. Usually not an issue, because the two have this odd habit of falling in the same demographics, but still. Both are terrible, but the latter has much greater import.

I'll admit, I still get the occasional urge to make a genuine stripped down version of T4 that's nothing but ascii and maybe a few small generic particle effects. The actual game code is only like 40 megs, with the rest being graphical or musical frippery (that I, personally, mostly don't give a damn about). It'd be really nice to have a -nographicsormusic version.

More complicated than it looks on the tin, though, and the last couple of tries were beyond my skill and patience. One of these days, maybe...

E:

E2: And at level 165, dreadfell is finally complete. Time to roll all over the ambush.

E3: Level 187, finally eat a death. Died to a chronomancy using skeletal master archer that somehow managed to permanently clone itself, like, three times, and was managing to make dozens of turns pass for me without me able to do anything, but still doing damage to me. I think because talents were failing and block was on auto-use, heh.

E4: I shouldn't have gone back DX

E5: Wow, the infinite dungeon really is the gift that keeps on giving. Admittedly, I was doing the silly thing of clearing out a ID vault (some sort of greater undead thing, fairly sizable, secret doors and junk), but I just ran into the Greater Mummy Lord on ID 7. Character level 15. GML's at 33. Wheeeee.

I was doing so well, too... did eat a death early in the vault to a ruin banshee that killed me on the same turn I killed it, but managed to off another one without dying, as well as a couple of bone horrors and a sanguine, along with your standard greater undead sundries. Mostly cleared the place out, even. Time to run away, though~
