General Discussion / Re: Fictional Philosophy: Let The Galaxy Burn

Naaah, probably not even close, for that last bit -- remember there's quite a few major warp entities that aren't chaos, and plenty of unaligned daemons and whatnot. For all chaos is the big boys on the block, they're not even remotely the only ones. Full Warp outflow would likely entail chaos in one corner, G&M in another (or several different ones, whatev'), the eldar junk in a third, corpseboy in a forth, 'nids and 'crons screwing around in some corner or another, and probably a whole host of new players of various strength and reach. It'd be pretty messy, and there'd be a lot of different folks on the ground, not just spikeyboyz. Imperium folding rapidly might even spawn some new warp gods, even beyond the one they've already got stuck in a chair.

This explains that one subreddit with the dragons and the cars.
Half-dragon Hyundai, chummer. There's probably what you'd need to make a stat-block for it in some splatbook or another.

And note, BF, less does not mean none.

Dragons breed with everything, space. Of course riding one would involve innuendo.

Ridin' a snake would probably be a lot like riding a dragon, just with less reproductive innuendo. Maybe. Or perhaps more innuendo but less actual crossbreeds running around.

At the least, you'd probably be mounted just behind the head (or on it, depending on the size), which is fairly stable when a snake undulates about. Either that, or it'd take some special training so the critter keeps parts of it stable for the saddle-equivalent whatsit.

Snake's got pretty good land speed, though, and a lot of potential advantages as a mount. Not sure on the stamina, but still.

E: Alternately, enchanted saddle-equivalents of some sort. Something so you stay stuck on it instead of flapping about everywhere.

... wasn't SR1 already like megalithic slow? Or could be with trivial in-game option shifts. I remember it taking quite a while to really do much just on the normal settings -- probably at least in part to the machine I was playing it on not really being able to keep up with the game, but still.

Looks like at least a few volumes of the LN's been fantranz'd, at least, if for some reason you feel like reading a bit instead of watching. Who knows, it might actually have something interesting going on. Maybe. Possibly.

Hrm. Good to know krug can't make it, then. Guess I've got a target to test out the net lady on :V

Whenever I get there. Still need to clean the dungeon before it of quests, I think.

Though yeah, definitely sounds like a bit of a spike. Even the tier 1 stuff manages to survive and help out pretty well on hard, just two dungeons before that. Ruddy puppets are massively overpowered for their actual level, heh.

E: Oh wow, listening to some more of the soundtrack and apparently some of the dungeons have freaking vocals for their music. Bloodhell boss track has that sort of pseudo-scat hip-hop thing going on for the last half or so of it.

S'also kinda' weird how so many of the tracks have like half of the track that does something really kinda' interesting and the other half of it is sorta' eh. Not sure what's up with that.

E2:O_o it has christmas music

the shop and town music are instrumental remixes of joy to the world

wat

E3: Holy shit I just heard what sounded like klezmer influences. This stuff is disturbingly good in places.

120 isn't really that old for impies, even non-marine ones, iirc. Some of them can live to a pretty hefty age. Most of 'em don't, but some can. Cain made it to well over 200, ferex.

As for the rest of what he's got going on, well, I think we actually covered that earlier in the thread.

Well that's faintly terrifying. Which puppet was it?

Arcade stuff's still around a lot in the US, but the use of them have declined pretty drastically, from what I've seen, as has new developments re: software and whatnot. And at least in this area, the larger ones -- dedicated arcade businesses and whatnot, as opposed to stuff in amusement parks, bowling alleys, etc. -- have mostly closed shop. There used to be three or four managing pretty well in the closest large-ish city in my area, and now there's maybe still one laying around.

Just to be sure, you're aware you can reassign the manual inputs, right? There's a little change-command thing in the skill point allocation screen.

As for the guild, open the menu, go to community, click on the guild thingy, then type Deadboats in the available box and press whatever confirmation thing is available. Then it's just waiting until someone able to let you in is online.

E: Though yeah, I'd guess for stuff that's aimed like the grenades, you'd need single-button commands or hotkeys. Not entirely sure on that, though. Know you can readjust the gatling gun if you use the manual input, but it works a bit differently.

*coughs* They've actually been doing stuff like that since like the late 90s/early 00s, Av. My first experience with VR stuff was actually with a (temporary) setup like you're describing that had set up shop for a few days in a mall, something like a decade and a bit ago. Hasn't really caught on yet, but the tech is also only just recently starting to make notable steps in regards to usability, so...

RPG as a whole isn't, but party-based ones along the lines of BG or whatev' have definitely been in a slump for a while now, I'd say.

Honestly, if rance's less licit bits had been higher quality, it might have turned me off from it. As it was, it was mediocre enough to be either ignorable or farcical. Bland porn, surprisingly decent game in a style of setting I'd love to see more of. More steampunk/fantasy/etc. romance of the three kingdoms style stuff would be great.

E: Plus some of the character design was kinda' amazing. That freaking feather duster :3
