Just played the demo, and... I'unno? The demo experience was basically "get the good ranged weapons on something that can't move and be invincible forever". Neat, but balance and whatnot is just... not there, more or less, heh. Probably worth 3 bucks, but it's definitely not anywhere near the level of majesty or whatev'.

It doesn't matter. The gate never does anything but kill people who try to hit it. It can't have any magic. Only thing that mattered is that the sauromancer didn't try to hit it and didn't run away.
This strategy doesn't work, you know. Anyone who's willing to pick an indestructible immobile lump as their pretender will commit to the bit and spend the first 50 matching gems they get to empower the dumb thing.
Y'know, I may be misremembering here, but isn't there a way to prevent that from really working? Could swear you could set a critter's paths to like, heavily negative or something, and empowerment... well, works, but it costs a lot more than just that first 50 gems.

Doesn't sound like the designer in this case would actually do something like that, but still.

I think about that just about every time I hear Tigger's theme song (which is relatively often; it's in my driving playlist).
Why is Tigger's theme song in your driving playlist?
Because the wonderful thing about Tiggers, is Tiggers are wonderful things?

It's a nice bit of music, that's why.

frumple listens to basically everything. sometimes people do not believe me when i say everything, but it's pretty damn intentional wording

I got some raffi in there, too, banana phone is great

It's literally a solved problem, you sub in nat guard or whatever while the district is reorganizing. It's been done before in the past with particularly fucked up precincts, iirc.

floorless streak has been interrupted, grandparent on floor again

hadn't had to call for help on this one (my back's fucked up, the only way I can get this one off the floor alone is if i put myself on it afterwards, and even then it's not a guarantee) since december

was bound to start up again at some point but you always kinda' hope it'll wait just a bit longer :-\

though they seem to be okay, physically, nurse coming by later to make sure, so it could be worse on several levels

Also isn't there some super fancy coffee that's made from coffee beans that have been eaten and shit out by some animal?
Kopi Luwak is the name, civet shit is the game. It's coffee technically made from fermented coffee cherries, instead of beans, it's just folks use critter intestines to do the fermenting.

I'd definitely want to see a citation on a majority of anti-abortion folks being statistically likely to help the disadvantaged. I've damn sure never seen that in my own life -- they might donate to a church or something of that nature, but it's usually to thoroughly unimpressive degrees or to deeply problematic organizations (... like most of those churches, that abuse that funding to sidestep taxes while thoroughly half-assing any material aid to the disadvantaged, just as one example among myriad).

They don't exactly go out of their way to help some homeless fellow or somethin', or donate to anything like a direct mutual aid organization or stuff along those lines, and the less said about their treatment of issues outside of token monetary donations, probably the better.

It's basically just a CRPG-styled visual novel, from what I've picked up. There's more or less no combat whatsoever. If heavy talky-talky isn't your thing (and it's not, for me -- if I want to read a book I'll read a book), it might not be your thing.

I've only played through the once, so I don't know if it's related to having a drink, or if it's scripted in, but having people telling me that my sour boozy breath is disgusting on day three seems a little much.

I mean, I know our character went through the most epic of epic benders, but even he's got to start drying out eventually.
I mean, did you ever brush your teeth? Haven't played (probably won't, but still), but... if you don't do some self-care the aftereffects for a bender can last a while.

I mean, nah, if you're going to say there's two people in that car then it should be treated as two people in the car. It might be some other violation, but it'd still count if there were two full sized people sharing a seat, too.

... let's just hope that doesn't give any texans ideas. I would be completely fucking unsurprised if some jackass cop wrote a ticket for a pregnant woman for there being two people sharing a driver seat.

E: Uh, anyway, apparently the ATF has its second ever permanent director now. Admit I'm idly wondering if Redking's aware and cares any, heh.

1513
Well... we don't seem to have one, so apparently you don't disagree with it enough, yet :P

E: Cheers for taking the appropriate next step :V

Has anyone else noticed that the sun seems to make people mind-numbingly dumb?
I have lived in florida my entire life. There is nothing you, or anyone else, could do at this point to convince me otherwise. Heat is the mind killer.

But I have shit outside to do and right now it's to hot, and I can't have less clothing on because I'd be naked if I had less on and I don't think the neighbors would appreciate me working on the fence in front of their house while naked.

If it was cold I could put on more clothing and ignore the cold and get this shit outside done.
The other thing I really don't see appreciated much about the whole naked and heat thing is what clothes protect you from, particularly in a hot environment, other than skin cancer and a loss of dignity/public nudity charges: Namely, bugs. Generally, especially in wetter climates, the hotter it is the more bugs there are, and the less clothes you have on the easier a time they have getting to your precious skin.

You can, and people do, trapeze through swamps or jungles naked, but make no mistake: There are few things less pleasant than a bunch of mosquito bites on your crotch. Or poison ivy, or ticks, or leeches, or wasps stings, or <continues into the distance>. I've managed to avoid that, personally, but I've known folks that did unwise things and I learned from their mistakes :V

but yeah, there's a minimum clothes level higher than "nothing" in hot climates even if you're stripping down, because some places you really don't want to be itchy and/or bleeding

it's the other reason winter is the objectively superior season in florida by several orders of magnitude: the bugs mostly fuck off for a few months when it gets cold enough. you know winter is ending when you go outside in shorts and come back with mosquito welts all over your legs and arms again
