General Discussion / Re: Things that made you sad today thread.

Someone would appear to have abandoned a puppy. Cute little rottweiler/something mutt, very friendly, obviously used to being around people and in houses. Noisy as goddamn when it's not around people -- it was raising a very significant fuss (i.e. it woke me up like five times) from basically 8-ish PM to something like 3 AM, all up and down a good chunk of the road outside the house -- but that's fairly normal for a puppy, especially one that just got abandoned. Also teething a bit and probably could stand something of a bath, but eh.

People living here won't be able to keep it, I won't be able to keep it, family won't, etc., etc. Maybe it's just been misplaced, but someone was looking to offload a puppy a day or two ago and, well. Probably not.

Fairly good odds it ends up in the pound (i.e. dead), though. Unfortunate. Also irritating. If you're going to condemn a dog to death, just goddamn do it, either via pound or bullet. Don't foist putting it down onto someone else or set it out to starve or get run over.

E: Though it looks like one of my cousins might actually be interested. Which would be nice -- thing's cute as a button, will probably grow up into a very nice looking dog that's not too big, and is already fairly responsive to leashes and whatnot. Mutt best dog, as usual. Would be shame to have it put to sleep :-\

For what it's worth, you wouldn't be doing much if you did enable images. Close to no one actually uses them in their sig.

... don't you mean look at where the eldar got chaos?

And yeah, corpseboy's the next warp god, and is doing pretty good compared to ol' slanno. Not sure what y'point is.

Though nah, Anti. Only some of the 40k universe is trying to kill humanity. Mostly just the necrons and 'nids, really, and they want to kill everything not them, not just humanity. Tau want them around, both Chaos and the impies is mostly made of them, Orkz want to kill lots of them but dere's gotta' be humies t'crump for a propa' brawl so they want 'em around, too (which is probably the only reason there's any humies left, honestly -- orkz is the biggest, and the best, and that's not hyperbole or exaggeration). Not sure about the eldar, but the dark ones want a nice slave population, too.

Honestly, most of the factions in 40k actually want humans alive, for one reason or another, and lots of 'em at that. Just not necessarily in the best of conditions.

Rankin. Rankin/Bass Productions' Cinderella.

It does look like they were somewhat fond of the occasional incredibly stacked lady as a stylistic choice.

Chaos really seems to have a better chance of keeping things together, in the long run. They're not lynchpinned on the emperor, nor technically the chaos gods themselves. More of a generalized warp thing. They've also got something more of a reason for their particular excesses, which is faintly something. Win on the progress points -- they actually research and whatnot. Arguably better medical care and living conditions, on average (which is really freaking saying something). Sure, there's the horrific warp abomination and people occasionally being used as food/architecture/weaponry/etc. downside, but the Imperium kinda' has that, too. E: Basically, if I were going to line things up and see which side would end up being on the net better for humanity... I'd definitely say Chaos is going to win out. Probably fairly substantially. So they'd end up with my metaphorical vote, as things go. [/E]

The actual answer is that everyone should immediately jump ship over to the Tau, though. They're no more culturally/morally offensive than anyone involved, and tend to both treat folks they get their hands on much better and are actually doing that whole progress and more-or-less sanity thing.

Though the reality of it is that neither side is going to collapse or anything. The Orkz think there is nothing but war, and so there is. Galactic meta-stasis will remain until the greenies get bored with it, which will be never.

Da' humies iz in Gork and Mork's 'eaven, now.

I've got a 22nd level launcher loitering around that could stand to go a few rounds, providing you're in cain. You can check level spreads from the spreadsheet thing in the OP, if that helps any.

E: Ha ha ha what. I just disassembled something and got a straight up 100 stack of high grade elemental crystal.

E2: Well, was good for a party. Probably done for the rest of today, since I've got to be up at like 4 AM tomorrow, so...

15038
... I've gotten like four 4-person qps in a row. I don't even know which way is up anymore. Existence is a flailing pile of particle effects and flying bodies. Am I hitting things? Where is my character. Did the boss die? Which way is the door. I can't see the door, it's covered in explosions. Where is everyone else? In the explosion, too? What's going oooonnnn ;_;

15039
Sweet blue hell I just had a four person quick party.

Which included a necromancer. And my puppet. And someone with one of those ant-pile spawning items.

There was so freaking much on the screen ;_;

We outnumbered every room we ran in to ;_;

Guild wouldn't hurt too bad, I guess? Would make it easier to keep track of everyone, if nothing else... assuming folks aren't already jumping into some to pick up the xp bonuses or whatev'.

For what it's worth, I could spare half the startup cost fairly easily right now. Would mean I couldn't buy a tier 3 puppet recipe, but it's not like I can use 'em anyway, ha. Or afford to keep ones that expensive in constant circulation... but I could make 'em now. Or shop dolls.

Looks like sindain and skyru are the only two that could right now, actually, and sky's on the other server.

Though yeah, I wasn't paying attention just now. Turns up the upgraded soul extractor dingus has a min level two above what I am. Whoops :V

Nah, anime doesn't bother with the repression. It's just for mecha and BL. The fanfiction is where the cryptohomo comes from.

Which means there's a definite available market niche for giant robots and homoromantic sexual tension. Well, BL stuff. They've got the yuri covered well enough.

15043
... wasn't talking about the spreadsheet, EP :P

15044
I do just kinda' have to wonder what the thought process behind the creator's design was, though. I mean, playing mario paint with the fist of an angry god is fun, but, uh.

The one I'm running, I didn't get hit until level 11. By anything. Since then, I've been hit something like three times, once to those prison exploding corpse things. They kinda' trivialize the everything, and especially the bosses. Full gauge of meteor to the head apparently blows up most everything, bosses, too.

Challenging, it is not, ha.

15045
Yeah, someone or something scrambled most of the sheet a few hours back.
