Well yes, that's what they'll be actually doing instead of saving the world or whatever.

You know how people get with geography, helg. Maybe folks didn't realize there was a "build own sea port, with better blackjack and more hookers" option available.

I now want to see a drunk, screaming cosplayer.

Not.
... for what it's worth, I'm pretty sure there's people out there that pay to see that >_>

It's been informal-ish long enough it works for fairly formal stuff. It's arguably a little on the highfalutin' side these days, really, at least in the academic regions I've been exposed to. I might not suggest using it in, say, a master's thesis presentation, but most other things it's probably fine. Pretty sure I used it in a few papers m'self, but I also had a noted tendency towards somewhat informal language, so... *shrugs*

Best suggestion is to ask whoever you're submitting the paper to, probably as part of an excerpt so they get context etc. In general, that sort of thing is one of the reasons the person in question is being paid, so... ask away.

... well, at least you're responding to it like a true blue stereotypical anime watcher. Have, uh. Have fun?

... you've got my condolences, then. Stagnation on that scale is a pretty terrible thing to live through, from what I understand.

... that's just kinda' saddening, serg.

Though I guess it'll be interesting a few decades from now to find out what was going on elsewhere. Y'all apparently have a helluva' media smokescreen going, which usually means there's gods-know-what happening where folks aren't looking.

For achievements, I direct you to the last Olympic Games, where we've won.
That... that was nearly a year ago. Has there really been nothing noteworthy since...? Surely there's some kind of civil, industrial, or economic... something. Anything?

And what local/regional interests can be more important than the war in the west?
Not so much a matter of "more important" than I'd call it a matter of "important at all". Looking at this thread, an observer wouldn't be too far off base thinking russia has in fact clambered its entirety into ukraine like some kind of reversed nation-scale matryoshka doll. It seems much like the country's everything is invested in the conflict, which is just... odd. It's not even a substantial conflict, economic repercussions notwithstanding. Surely there's other things going on? I mean, hell, this kind of distraction is perfect for internal power plays of various sorts.

... how so? It's just a simple role reversal with reality. Instead of russia annexing ukraine, ukraine has annexed russia. Thus, the state of the thread.

Amusingly enough, it's been russians doing most of it, too. Again like a mirror to reality. You'd think they'd want to talk about russia in the russia thread, but... apparently not.

---

In retrospect, it's almost odd that fairly rabid nationalists say so little about their own country... always in relation to ukraine or some other nation, almost never just about russia.

... what's up with that? Isn't there any celebrations or achievements or local/regional interests to talk about?

... there's a handful of MUD-type things out there like that, actually. Generally PvP, iirc.

Which, uh. Would probably be a substantial portion of your answer: An MMORPG structured around no leveling or character progression (so no equipment, either) would almost certainly be structured around human vs human conflict.

I'd probably expect it to be more action-y than most MMORPGS, too...

I think it happening because the machine does understand the instructions is the more common issue. Incomprehension just causes inaction, not excretion. Usually.

It's just that the instructions are really terrible.
