... probably not to a fairly substantial part of the human population, and almost certainly not in the US. Pedophiles are a statistical rarity -- as well as a subject that basically no one is willing to research, which largely means that drugs tailored to it (assuming that's even possible and last I checked, no one has a goddamn clue) will be a bloody long time coming -- but divorce and split families are incredibly common and identified by a lot of people as an incredibly major social ill. You're going to see monogamy encouraging drugs roll out long before you see pedophilia suppressing ones.

Either play it straight or go full left-wing crackpot, I'd say. There's already going to be plenty mumbling things about obamuoride.

I'd probably say about the most I'd be comfortable seeing is counting the bless as one path less if the pretender isn't active. So N9 would be N8, etc. More than that sounds... excessive, and seriously incintivises being cautious with the pretender more than I'd personally be happy seeing. Don't want the game to make them more passive than they can already end up... be nice if they did something to make them less passive, honestly. Maybe let them do magic-y stuff without a lab, possibly at a path malus, so they're more encouraged to wander around. Possibly even act as a mobile lab, to really make things interesting.

Actually, bless-no-work/work-less-when-inactive + mobile-lab-now could make for some bloody interesting choices. Something both to incentivize caution and reward activity.

And there's a lot of people in this bloody hellswamp! It outnumbers belgium!

Think on that. One might think that not a lot of people think it's after death, but there's states in the US that out population countries in europe that you have substantial populations within thinking just that.

Think I've said it before, but I'm pretty sure that "After Death" is what I was actually taught in school. It's been quite a few years, obviously enough, but... yeah. It's certainly the answer you'd get from quite a bloody few people in the area I'm in.

It has happened. There's an entire series of them. Nine ruddy games at this point.

My cat took a stab at eating a chip the other day. He didn't finish it but he ate half of it. I don't know what potato cuboids deep fried in fat must taste like to a cat.
... most cats I've had will pretty happily eat potato chips. Also the other potato chips. You'd think an obligate carnivore wouldn't be terribly interested in a spud, but apparently if you put enough salt on something a cat will eat it.

It's kinda' fun watching a cat eat a jalapeńo flavored one. It takes 'em a while, and there's a fair amount of running away and coming back >_>

Though do remember, if you go that route, that second bit specifically has to be phrased, "Sometimes a key is just a key." That's a universal mandate when invoking that line of thought.

Also, Taw, you RP. Fanfiction and RP are quite similar, at least in my opinion.
It's pretty much the same thing, yes, just with pre-established characters. Can be, anyway.

Hell, there's some pretty expansive fics out there that are literally transcripts of lengthy RP sessions within a particular setting.

Functionally, it seems like about the best time would be mid to late twenties. Time enough for strong general education and some broad water-testing* (so to speak) and for brain development to finish so that likelihood of being grounded enough to rationally and effectively choose a career specialization is much higher.

I'd kinda' question if pre-career specialization is a good idea at all, though, especially if you're in a tumultuous economic region. Broad-base and effective general education and a wide base of previous experience in disparate fields would seem to be the best idea t'me, probably with an emphasis on re-training and learning on the job. Heavy and early specialization seems to just leave quite a few people sitting around with a great deal of training and nothing to use it on, or incredibly miserable when they find out five or ten years into a career they hate what they're doing and don't have the means to change venues...

*This part in particular seriously doesn't get enough support in basically any society, though, at least from what I've seen and heard. Very few people actually have any bloody idea what they're getting in to, and it's damned rare there is, and double-damned difficult to get, a chance to actually get that exposure outside of maybe one or two fields (usually the parents or relatives, who are pretty likely to be in similar fields). And the individual that doesn't like those few fields are often just kinda' buggered insofar as preparation goes.

... don't we have like, two different MLP mods or something? And multiple collaborative AAR that amount to fanfics written on this very forum? For all that discussion of the subject is verboten, there's plenty of overlap between DF players and MLP fans.

And adventure time would actually make for an incredibly good DF-style adventure, what with it being a post-apocalyptic hellhole filled with ravenous death-beasts and whatnot.

... what does "What does the key sim loose" mean?

Is, uh. Is that supposed to be symbolize?

Though I'm not familiar enough with gothic media to say, do keys fit into some kind of convention within the genre? Particularly during the period of the piece was made? A lot of times when you've got a fairly close knit writing/media community authors/creators will stick to certain shared conventions to mean things. Kind of like an in-joke, just... more meaningful.

If not, then what OW and ArK said, mostly, but... well, part of critical watching/reading/etc. -- the kind of stuff you do when you're actually looking for and picking apart symbolism -- is looking for stuff like that. Common themes, shared meanings within the genre, etc. Sometimes they're even intentional and add meaning to the work. usually they are not, and meaning is tacked onto the work like an epileptic kid hopped up on PCP trying to pin a squirrel's tail to a quadriplegic donkey there is no escape, only blood and the screaming of wounded asses

S... wha? Nah, simple omelette is easier than eggs over easy... fancier ones are more of a thing, as is making them look particularly impressive, but they're darn simple as egg dishes go. Ain't nothin' to stirrin' up some eggs and then shaping them a bit. Omelette's not much more than really finely scrambled scrambled eggs.

First cookin's always fair celebration though, especially if nothing caught on fire.

... the house is still there, right obj?
