... someone was speaking against the movie with the best opening theme in the world? Heathens. That rooster knew what was up.

Reason has little to do with lashing out at every <appropriate genitalia reference> that approaches your immaculate bedmess spawn.

... I've been enrolled in four different colleges at this point, from community to state level, as well as tutored community college students for several months. Not once have I been in a course where what you describe accurately portrays the behavior of even a simple majority of a class. Bloody hell, I haven't even seen the majority of a class act like that in freaking adult school, which handles high school dropouts and minors under probation.

And even then, what you're talking about is not laziness -- it's different priorities. Most of the minority of students I've seen that do what you describe even occasionally (of which, only a minority of those exhibit the behavior in question regularly) are not even remotely lazy, they're active, with work, socialization, personal interests, or family/home responsibilities, to the point it interferes with their school work. And even then, all but the rarest at least manage some knowledge and methodology acquisition and retention, even months or years later.

If you've experienced what you're describing, it runs violently counter to everything I have, as well as most everything I've heard of. People just... aren't lazy. We default towards being active, to the point actual prolonged inactivity causes various sorts of medical and psychological issues. And given enough time and the resources, even the least active among us that aren't outright sessile eventually work to improve their lot to some degree or another, if something isn't actively interfering with them.

(pls tell the name of the game k thx)
too tired. Check my posts, it's the only one I've been talking about in GD over the last day or two.

And yes, I'm entirely aware I could have just typed the name instead of all this, but bah and humbug.

Diiiiick move, game. Mandatory characters, and a reduced party size, for the final(?) battle. No warning of this. One of my set three characters is... forty levels behind everyone else, badly underequipped, and missing many of their skills.

... it went so badly the game crashed when I died.

*checks willpower* *checks bookmarked finished things* *remembers all the stuff not bookmarked* *crit fails willpower roll*

... yeah. I... definitely read enough to meet the mark. Read more this year than last year.* Just... too tired to write up the list thingy. Blegh.

*I counted! 139 fanfics in the "finished this year folder". Though I did lean towards shorter works this year. Still, y'know, over 30k (usually over 60k), but eh. Plus... probably another twenty or thirty I didn't bookmark. And a chunk more that were under the 30k mark. And a handful or so non-fanfic books. Half-dozen, something like that. Which is why thinking about typing it all out is draining my will.

Disposition, eh... *mumbles something that sounds vaguely like "soultrap several hundred points of personality"*

Though yeah, bribing mostly. Once you've got some alchemy sidelined gold... stops being an issue, mostly. So can everything else, depending on how badly you abuse it, but I generally just used alchemy for cash, m'self. Or you can just strip a town or two of all its valuables and be set for bribe money for a while.

Think my best for walking out of seyda neen was... 10k? Somewhere between 8 and 10 thousand gold, if I'm not mistaken. Highest limit my memory's allowing is 13. There... wasn't much left in the town, besides the people. Well, in the town and outside wozzname's inventory.

That was a good day.

Goodness Nuns really should have some sort of job interview or something when they go for the job.
They like. Do? So far as I'm aware -- most things of that nature actually have interviews involved, often with either priests or members of the associated congregation or whatev', at least that I've seen and heard of. Or all of the above.*

It's just. Well, given the nature of the thing, things... get through. And are interviewing for things that might not necessarily be "not a fucking monster". And also considering the nature of the thing, things that get through tend to not get kicked out. There's reason religious organizations are kinda' a con's wet dream...

*Recently-ish got to overhear most of the process involved in a local church interviewing potential preachers. It was... interesting. Passive-aggressiveness you could cut with a room-temperature butter knife, all sorts of small town politics... interesting, indeed. To observe. From a distance.

... do remember that this really isn't the place for forum related rage (barring technical difficulties, I suppose), or raging against other members of the community.

And to preempt it, yes, yes that counts.

16015
Of course. I'm not entirely sure city hall or whatever could curtail pay, even if they wanted to.

*waggles hand* DT, maybe -- it doesn't really do anything the base game doesn't do, just makes it a little easier (and does so outside of the actual game interface). DFHack is definitely a mod, though. It changes in-game junk. It could also be a utility for some of its functions, but, eh.

On the other hand, it's probably a little silly to differentiate these days. You usually find utilities in the same place as mods, used in the same breath, etc., etc. Not like it's a big deal to just use the one word for all that junk.

USB controller get!

... this is pretty nice. Turns out games meant to be played with a controller control a bit more smoothly when actually played with a controller. Who knew?

E: And ah, to AC, the answer is "You usually don't." Last I checked, anyway, especially if you're in a professional setting. Orientation and whatnot... kinda' don't come up as a topic, usually*. Even potential indicators can be simple navigation of office politics or whatev'. If you want to know, you're probably going to have to just ask.

*Shouldn't come up as a topic, honestly. That's stuff you generally don't want to mess with in the workplace. Outside of it, maybe, but even then... lawsuits, brethren. Lawsuits. Best to keep the interest of the nethers away from professional situations. Unless you're in the flesh trade, I guess...

... just think: At some point in the future, there probably will be ambush trees, that you can climb on, probably harvest fruit from, etc., so forth, and so on.

And then you try to chop it down and your dwarf gets eaten, followed by the rest of your fortress and the surrounding countryside. Ents wha hae, midgets!

It says in the post :V

... this game. One of my "allies" just grabbed my main character, bludgeoned a trio of high ranking religious militants with him, and then hurled him something like two hundred feet into a solid stone wall. Projectile Man(!) hit probably fifteen feet off the ground, too.

What the hell, dude!? I mean, I'm laughing, but holy shit.

... though naturally enough, said MC just kinda' gets up and casually walks off. Every member of the party is basically an unholy wrecking ball at this point so :V

E: Eeeeee, and then the MC does someone a "favor" by picking them up and jumping off the top of a... something like 10, 15 story tower. I mean, I guess it's better than a meteor shower to the face, but... "I will help you!" *hurls both parties to their doom*

Not... not thinking things through, comrade.
