Eh, if you leave it open in the background, it adds up. If you don't... I'unno, can't help yeh. If you're at 300, you're pretty close to what I've got and... there's be a couple extra years to accrue. And I leave B12 up in the background, on a computer that's got something like 16 hours/day uptime.

Think there's been some comment on the time being wonky, though? Forget...

... I have no idea what those strange runes mean.

But not particularly? I'd just be perfectly fine with aping another system if it were doing better than our own. Unfortunately, UK's been trying to ape the US over the last while, from what I understand, when it comes to law enforcement, so that'd be kinda' defeating the point of gratuitous plagiarism.

Maybe we should put the US on a 99-year lease to England, like China did with Hong Kong.
Gods, not england. England's been privatizing, setting itself up to go down the exact path the US has. Maybe some other nation, but not the UK.

Next great playlist. Pah.

There is only one playlist, and that's everything stuck in a single one and the music player set to shuffle.

Wikipedia page seems to think so, anyway. First part's (covering, like, part of... whatever it's covering) been released, but there's more parts yet to be released. So yes, unfinished, to date.

You can eat balanced on that budget. I don't, personally, but it's possible with a titch of effort. Can't get terribly fancy or the highest of qualities, obviously, but healthy and effective is possible, especially if you include vitamin supplements in the budget (which the 100/month, at least in my case, does).

... huh. Shouldn't a monthly be ~15 bags at 2 days/bag, not 28? 255/month is definitely overpriced for the area I'm in... you can get by pretty well at around 100, maybe 120 or so. Which is odd, because 1.50/meal is actually pretty solid. At the 70x2 price point (140 for ~28 days) it would actually be pretty competitive -- still a little over the minimum, but only a little.

Restaurant stuff's always a terrible point of comparison when you're dealing with pricing food, though. It's pretty much unilaterally hella' overpriced in relation to strictly the materials -- you usually pay materials and extra on top of the actual food cost for that convenience, at least from what I've seen. Ratio gets a bit better in areas where the basic food is more expensive, but it still trends toward pretty bad. Restaurants gouge like the buggery.

... we've been thinking about proper response to AI since, uh. Hell, at least the 50s? Over half a century now, at minimum. We've got acceptable solutions oozing out our ears, it's just a matter of picking 'em and implementing, with maybe a little adjustment for however things actually fall out instead of just the copious amounts of considering possibles we've already done.

Perhaps take this two-person discussion to PMs? It's what they're there for...

Ohh this main character isn't a fairy. She is an ordinary human.[snip]
Ah.

... the point still stands, though. The shrinking would have ridiculous implications for manufacturing and R&D (and sabotage, assassination, etc., so forth, so on.), and the flight and invisibility are, well... obvious. As is the fact that the only ones that can see invisible fairies are those bonded to one -- you'd be looking at an arms race to keep fairy-attached people hired to prevent corporate (and otherwise) espionage. There would definitely be major international interest in keeping those freaky critters fat, happy, and willing to work without questioning things too hard.

"This is a special sweet, just for President <X>. Be very careful not to eat it, and sneak it into their morning coffee. They'll be so happy about it, they'll pass out from the sheer bliss!" Fairy coaxing 101, how to commit regicide via naive monofocus.

Those specs aren't really that much harder... I don't even know if they make dual cores anymore and a 4 GB stick of RAM is quite cheap. The graphics card shouldn't be too hard to get either (though this all does depend on what country you're from). Is he running it on a six year old laptop or something?
... this computer is a laptop, UX, and one that's a fair few years old. Conceptually I could upgrade parts, but 1) I'm pretty ruddy broke and 2) SPAZ 2 isn't even remotely worth the hassle of taking a laptop apart to replace parts.

They do still make dual-cores, though. They're still incredibly bog standard for lower-end machines. And it's not ram that's the issue, it's the CPU and graphics card, and the latter in particular runs towards expensive.

How the HECK is this place self-sufficient? I think that place costs a LOT more to run then they could ever make on sweets.
Think for about two seconds what that main character's ability could be used for in the fields of espionage (take a sip of milk, track the originating point, instantly be aware of supplier, supply chains, originating country...) and interrogation (force prisoner to cook, have fairy eat, instant incredibly powerful lie detector). Extrapolate as to what other, presumably similar, abilities other fairies may have. Realize the park is being funded by black op and corporate organizations worldwide as a way to placate their extradimensional game-changing resources. Gotta' keep the psychic sugar fetishists happy, because they're freaking psychic.

The first thing that comes to mind is Dead Leaves.
That... looks like it. Art style is about right, from what little I can remember, and the TV for a head rings a bell. Thanks, yeah.

Genesis 1 is fairly significantly different from Genesis 2 (Garden of Eden and the rest of it) and onwards. Different ordering of the days, less fiddly bits, kinda' notably different ending message... it's more or less two fairly divergent creation stories.
