[snip]
... thing I've been noting, though, is I'm doubtful the show has actually, well... shown that.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

... all that said, there's still plenty of completely ridiculous stuff going on in Ep 11. Omnom Foureyes (... are the food people ever going to actually be a substantial plot point?) pausing to pose and style his hair was just beautiful. Supposedly ace pilots continuing to do that bughumping crazy "let's idle down, open our cockpits, and have a chat in the middle of a raging dogfight" thing. Sweet mother of hell they just flew out of their machines to have a slap fight in the middle of space, while shit explodes all around them. Teenagers ;_;

Though I'm not sure what excuse their trainer-dude had for trying to kick the pilot instead of the enemy machine :-\

Miss Nepotism got a second hit! Against an immobile target within spitting distance! And still fails to make a combat kill, ahaha! Sweet zeus aida you suck. And not like the SUCers. Well, maybe like the SUCers. They've seemed generally incompetent, too.

Ooh, there's that mention of the curse thing. Sorta'. No indication of it having anything to do with SUCism, heh. I guess it might be implied if you think hairboy and horohumper are SUCers, but... I can't really recall any mention or indication of that :P

Anywaaaay. On to twelve.

E: Oh, also that piano-etc. bit that kicked in around the, uh... 11 minute? 15 minute? Somewhere in there. Mark. Was pretty nice.

Yeessss... but that's kinda' different from space debris having some kind of special status.

Eh, I care so little about spoilers in relation to this show right now it's almost funny :P So it's coo' et al. Though yeah, all I've got is the subs and... yeah. And yah, the meaning of the SU is so-far unmentioned. Plus they're spelling what... should probably be cord, as Chord. Which, uh. Despite sounding the same, are very different.

Loved the latest G-Self launch, though. *zoom -> hover -> slow tilt -> face first into the tree line*

I guess they're unintentionally trying to drive home the fact that these people are basically untrained know-nothings? Either way it's kinda' great.

---

Strike that, bad mutha' just fucking suplexed a gundam. Wuxia #1 mobile suit now. I mean sure it was Aida the Incompetent piloting it but still we G-Gundam now.

Except a different one got chumped by the gundam rocketing around basically uncontrolled but that's pretty wonderful too. This incompetent bastard is just flailing around and it's wonderful.

--- no! No, you bastard hair fetishist! Why did you do that to the best backpack you've had so far! Nuuuuuu ;_; You couldn't control it worth a damn but that was no reason to sacrifice its wonderful far-too-fast life!

... and now we're playing gundam DBZ. *facepalms* And the wuxia of glory (WOG) does synchronized swimming poses as it sinks in the swamp.

What the hell genre am I even watching at this point? Though those gators looked so happy...

ah! Ah! Best backpack survived! Ep 10 has been something of an emotional roller coaster. Shame it wasn't because of any of the characters >_>

... Monday, please stop humping the backpack.

Oh well I mixed that up a bit, but I think the puzzle pieces are there already. The Photon Batterie are said by the faithful to be spawned by the universe, and are delivered to the top of the Space Elevator.
... there's only been a single mention of anything even remotely like that so far, in Ep 9, and that seemed like it was just the pope-dude joking. That I've noticed, anyway...

Quote
Which people are not suppose to travel to without permission or they'll be cursed according to SU-Chordism.
This... hasn't been mentioned at all so far, insofar as I can remember. SUCing (Why, G-Reco, why? I realize that probably doesn't work in japanese, but... but...!) hasn't exactly received much air time or fleshing out or... anything, really, by this point. Unless I missed an episode or something, and I'm faiiirrrly sure I haven't?

Kinda' like I said, I'm having a bit of fun with this, but the pacing, writing, etc., is... sorta' terrible. Like, B-Movie level stuff. Maybe worse, I'unno. Stuff's almost certainly being lost in translation, but...

Still better than SEED, though, I suppose.

It was hairboy (Bellri) that made the (evidentially non-sequitur) mention. He's also been the only person I've noticed imply something falling from the sky has any particular meaning, so far (starting ep 10).

Also sweet monkey hell they just put bandit-bandanas on the rekts. That's. That's adorable.

*facepalm* Bragging about nimble fingers. That's not innuendo at all, no siree. that's totally freaking innuendo

Eh, with morrowind if I felt like abuse I just whipped out the soultrap glitch. Usually did that with a few utility spells anyway, honestly...

!!!

Episode 9! Pinky lands a hit! That's one! I think I'll start a count. She doesn't actually kill anyone, but hey, hit ratio is no longer 0%. Miss nepotism's going places.

Also they
Spoiler: I guess? (click to show/hide)

"You shouldn't be doing that!" Hair-boy shouts as the elk ball pilot jumps out of a free-falling mobile suit several hundred feet off the ground. No shit! Ahahaha what the hell.

oh my god and then hair fetish whacks the guy with his beam rifle nozzle what the blue hell is even going on here

sweet zeus there's another one. Don't gundam series usually limit themselves to one chick with pink hair? And how did omnom foureyes not break like half the bones in his body just then?

Also totally just noticed the rekts have SNES color patterns. I'm not sure how I feel about that.

Still no clue about the "fallen from space bit", though. Keeping eye out.

I don't even know, furt. Now they're just kinda' casually opening their cockpits for a mid-air chat while there's still multiple hostiles* in the area and an incoming unknown. It's like. Okay. What. I guess there's been some peaceful times or... something... but both the ones doing this are apparently from a group that's been involved with a 20 freaking year long war. Holy hell. Apparently there's incompetence and then there's G-Reco :P

Maybe Ep 8 is just a wash or something, I'unno.

*Or there's... not? They seem to think there's not,* but there's been no on-screen indication of it. Writing *fistshake*

E: And suddenly it's 10 years. Translator errors, maybe?
*E2: And apparently there's going to be no mention of that one cait sith that helped the elk elf balls put the booster on. Man, there's a fanfic in that. Or I guess an in-universe ghost story or somethin'.

16104
Hrm...? Maybe, but from what I recall the US legalizing cannabis nation wide was projected to cut cartel funds by... either a third or two thirds, forget exactly which. Think it was "just" a third. That was a while back, so maybe it's changed some, but... fairly doubtful. Either way, that would be an absolutely massive economic blow to the southern drug pushers. No organization reacts very well to suddenly losing (at minimum) a third of their operating resources.

16105
Wait.. Wait, holdup, wait a second.

There's a North America!?
Indeed! Despite never hearing about it, there's actually a south and central america (though the latter is part of the north american continent). This requires separating the americas into pieces! It's honestly almost amazing that an entire continent, home to many millions of individuals and one of the largest economic blocs in the world, gets almost no news coverage in many places.

16106
Yes, in my mind, most of Central America is part of North America. But I probably offend the. Central Americans by thinking that too :P
That's okay, you're probably being less offensive than the least geographically minded of states-goers. To them, it's mexico all the way down.

... though, uh. Isn't CA actually more or less part of NA? SA's everything in the big lower chunk. The connecty bit's NA.

No promises with keeping it up, but some of this stuff just kinda' writes itself.

"Today in episode 7 of G-Reco:PWP, Miss Monday demands to sleep with the G-Self!"

... seriously. That just happened. The harohumper acquiesced, too. Are they doing this intentionally?

Also sweet zeus I just realized what other acronym "Problems With Paraphilia" matches with *facepalm*

E: And yeah, you actually do see shank occasionally in the states, generally in regards to certain sorts of food. Cobbled together ghetto knife fits those deathtraps a lot better, though.

E2: It also looks like segway made a major economic coup at some point during the G-Reco timeline...

E3: Okay, someone spoiler me: Does pinky ever actually manage to shoot anyone? Because so far (just finished ep7), I don't think I've seen her land a single shot with that big rifle. Aida is, uh. Kinda' incompetent. So far. Apparently.

Also, "The G-Self fell from the sky! Do you people not understand what that means!?"

... I don't. In fact, I can't recall anyone saying anything in regards to what that means. Nor has hair-boy displayed the least instance of knowing, himself, insofar as I can recall. What's going oooonnnn ;_;

But yeah. Fairly pretty, MST-able, but the plot so far has been... yeah. Also the elk elf balls primary flight mode is vaguely obscene. What the hell is with this show.

E4: Start of episode 8. What the hell. "Hey, there's a raging battle between a city-destroyer-level mobile armor and most of a squadron of experimental mobile suits, let's hug and sit down on the beach for a drink!" TIME AND PLACE, PEOPLE

oh god

they just sit there and look while a giant mobile armor goes flying by to the right, close enough to kick up waves and ruffle hair, guns just blazing away, and then a explosion goes off, like, just over the hill behind them and everyone's like, "Eh."

My suspension of disbelief just got ran over by one of those hobo knife cars. It's hilarious, but my ability to take this show even remotely seriously just got stabbed in an alleyway by a old homeless dude that hasn't bathed in months.

16108
Hopefully it doesn't and we actually see some positive change, yeah. Won't be holding my breath, but it'd be good to see. Given a great deal of the country's attitude towards perceived criminals, though... m'doubtful. Actually being armed undermines a great deal of potential popular support. Not that there's spectacular amounts even when the victim is unarmed, most of the time :-\

16109
Pretty sure they've got the ability to keep the general populace away from a shooting scene, yes. Especially family, really. That they used that capability to let someone bleed out after shooting them is intensely fucked up, but, again, insofar as I'm aware it's... not actually illegal. Immoral as goddamn, but not illegal.

When you ask if this is due process, well. That's part of the problem. It's almost certainly going to be found to be within the boundaries of due process.

16110
So far as I understand things, the courts decided it was... somewhere in the 80s, iirc. And it's been continually upheld over the decades since. The basics of it is that police have no affirmative duty towards individuals -- if they let someone bleed out on the ground, they're not under legal mandate to avoid that. The whole "protect and serve" thing is an outright fiction.

Pretty sure most every damn body with even two ounces of morality in their bones would disagree, but that's the state of things as is.
