You've obviously not had good iced tea then. The stuff down here in georgia... well, it's the same stuff if you get it at like, a chain restaraunt, but the actual stuff down here (IE: the stuff yer' grandma would prolly make) is damn good.
... one of my grandmothers is, in fact, from and currently up in georgia. Reiterating: Iced tea is just nasty to me, in all the variations I've consumed.

... frumple is in south. Have tried iced tea of many varia-teas, much to own chagrin. All tasted terrible to me. Something about making tea cold turns me cold. Was nothing wrong with the tea, not poorly made, etc., etc. Just... is nasty. Tea is only tolerable hot. Otherwise it's just urgh.

Well. The sodatea is an exception, there. It's alright cold. That stuff doesn't count, though. It barely counts as anything but a sugary bioweapon.

General Discussion / Re: Knight vs.Samurai Who Is Best
« on: December 15, 2014, 11:48:44 pm »
Exactly. European knights can't even get hot girls to cosplay them. Samurai therefore win by a landslide.

My logic is irrefutable.
... on the other hand, japan itself seems to stick a lot more sexy knights in its media than sexy samurai. I think that's some extra points in knight's favor when the samurai's originating culture has jumped ship.

Though there were a few passingly attractive knight cosplayers if you dug deep enough. It just... took a number of pages to find. To say nothing if you go for something more specific, like Saber cosplay >_>

And actually looking at the samurai search, most of those are ninja anyway. Which is... disturbingly appropriate, actually. Very ninja thing to do.

... exacto bullets. Seriously? Did they attach verniers to a knife or something?

E: Hrm. The method is apparently a "closely held secret". Hope to zeus I didn't just inadvertently violate a non-disclosure agreement or something. I don't want exacto bullets coming through my window in their rockety knife-like glory.

Some biscuits and pecan pie, too.

...

Iced tea being an abomination unto tastebuds for me always has been a social awkwardness, down here.

That skittles commercial is still one of the most amazing things the world has produced.

I once statted out a pathfinder character based off that guy. Beard witch.

Doesn't ring a bell. For what it's worth, you might go through the old 7drl lists and see if anything looks familiar.

You might also consider asking over in Other Games, specifically here.

General Discussion / Re: Religion Questions Thread
« on: December 15, 2014, 12:14:27 am »
... so for bystanders who aren't particularly interested (or able, I suppose) in taking questions, but might be able to drop a short answer for something... pipe up? Stay quiet? Etc.

S'like with stuff like that animism question -- personally, I'm not really enough of anything in particular when it comes to religious beliefs to sign up for questions, but little things like that are pretty easy to snipe up, if whoever the actual question is directed to doesn't get to it particularly quickly, or at all.

*coughs* Incidentally, it's a general belief that various whatevers (rivers, rocks, forests, animals, places, sometimes people, etc., etc., etc. -- particulars vary by belief system) have spirits of some sort "in" them, or actually are gods/spirits/whatever. Basically that everything has a little bit of divinity in it, that may or may not manifest, influence the world... it's a very broad thing.

Generally, some form of animism is believed to have been the form that the original religious beliefs took. Most later ones show signs of having developed from anthropomorphised natural phenomena (which you could probably call "animism in three words"), as well -- Zeus coming from storms, the christian god sharing traits of previous sun gods (among other things), egypt's mix of man and animal divinities, native american stuff, there's a whole bunch of so ons and so forths.

And, as often is true, wikipedia has something to say on the subject.

... seriously though, the only true way is to intermix and alternate. Dialects are made to be muddied and misused. In due time, it will all be one glorious slurry of language.

And then we'll make some more and start all over again. It'll be great. Apostrophes everywhere.

Marginally more info over the actual australia politics thread, for what that's worth.

... so would soft rage be, like. Some kind of odd fusion between metal and smooth jazz? Mellow grindcore how? The angriest muzak?

Things I didn't actually want to know: Graknorke wears a cravat during "playtime".

... incidentally, this is probably the point someone needs to say something about subject change. So... yeah.
