... seriously, you might want to read the OP again, then follow the rules as noted. If you can't manage that, making a separate thread for the specific question would be the direction you want to go.

Gonna need some context on this one.
Yeah, context is kinda' needed. That said, without context, both, being symbols of social oppression and brutality, objectively suck. They represent fairly terrible times, nearly unilaterally terrible people, and pointedly obsolete military ideology. Their sole saving grace was the occasionally aesthetically pleasing armament, for what little difference it makes.

Mm... it's something to do with the transfer to... lbtcod? Or whatever it was. Pre-shift (.H4, etc.) rolls are significantly faster. Couldn't give a guess as to the why of it, though.

... just to give a heads up, the christian one is probably going to be reopened, in time. A more general one is fine, though, of course.

Mm... probably depends on if you're using fullscreen or not, I guess. I don't really tab out to DT so much as click on the window that's off to the side, personally.

That said, still definitely prefer DT. Being able to make job profiles and whatnot is a godsend. Don't remember if DFHack has that or not, but I can't recall it so.

Still, either is a definite improvement over none.

... it really makes dwarf management several magnitudes easier. Once you've used it a bit and got used to it, going back to non-therapist is frankly kinda' painful -- to the point that, yes, playing until the fort wrecks itself could quite possibly be a net loss of enjoyment. It's that much of a user interface easement.

Adorable has my gravest condolences if it's bedding something with teeth like that.

... different geographies, yes.

Here, nekkid and warm doesn't exist, unless it's the closest it gets to cold and you're in blankets (note: That's half the reason I can only enjoy winter -- it's the only season where you can get warm without it becoming hellish). There is only nekkid and either scorched and sunburnt or dehydrated from sweating out. No in betweens. In fact, you generally can't even enjoy going outside half-clothed because you'll cook -- literally cook, and eventually have parts of your precious flesh peel off -- without some sort of covering. Even sunblock sometimes isn't enough.  And that's assuming the bugs don't eat you or you, again, don't get to experience lovely heat stroke or excessive dehydration from sweating out.

The upside, of course, is that 20F weather basically never happens here. There's usually less than a week of it even dipping below freezing, nevermind staying there. Contrast to the several months of 90s and above with massive humidity and endless drought conditions.

Y'all can have my heat. I really wish you'd freaking take it. Give me your cold and wind and hopefully some rain too because we can always bloody use it.

E: Seriously though it's going to be in the fucking 70s next week. Fuck this state with a tuning spork.

Perhaps they are inadvertently correct. Have you considered defenestrating them? That sounds like it could help with the stress, at least.

It's just that hot weather is worse. That's the earth trying to cook you, not just kill you. At least the cold lets things wait a bit before the worms come for dinner.

Haha seriously though winter is the only season worth living in, in this part of the states. All the other ones are too hot.

... um, it's pretty far past that point? US organizations have been spuriously jailing activists and whatnot for years now. I guess if you mean actual politicians it's not quite there yet (at least not often, anyway), but. Yeah.

16213
... looks like it's not quite past congress, yet. And maybe the president will retain sanity and veto it, if it goes by.

I mean, sure, maybe flying pigs laden with coconuts full of hundred euro bills will fly over the continental US and explode into a shower of lucre and candy, too, but... it's possible. Distantly.

16214
... as always, the defense, "At least we're doing better than North Korea" is perhaps not the stance anyone sane wants to be taking. It's kinda' like saying, "Be glad only your leg is on fire."

... you don't really need to look anywhere but the article to realize that its findings aren't... well, anything. 318 self-selecting examples does not statistical significance make. I mean, seriously, a study of darwin award winners is not exactly high rigor investigation.

Honestly, it looks more like some kind of joke study than anything else :P
