Better would be a well weighted and reinforced block of plastic that looks like an iPhone. Then you can chuck it at people and not worry about losing your investment.

Not much of a contest.
Hey, it was apparently a big enough issue for YWHW to get off its arse and do something, and then have its followers violently murder a few hundred people. Sounds like someone thought something was there, anyway.

Though yeah, it's also possible YWHW has cut down on that sort of thing in the present-ish time because we would execute people that get up to that sort of shit, broadly speaking. Mass murder is harder to get away with, these days, miracle or no miracle. Far from impossible, but it doesn't really win you (as) much in the way of brownie points anymore.

Technically, I don't think that commandment even precludes the worship of other gods (mind you, other parts of the bible do). Just that YWHW must be above all others in your consideration. Depends on what the original meant by what was translated into "before", and whether that meant, y'know, in higher esteem, or more along the lines of "in front of", i.e. where YWHW can see (which is everywhere, generally).

That said, it looks like YWHW actually had a straight up contest with another god (Baal?) over control of the rain at some point? And apparently some other stuff *shrugs*

@ grak: Yeah, that seems to be Islam. Allah also more or less gave the critter a thumbs up to wander around and test mankind and angel alike until the day of judgment.

@ cryx: ... where does it say that?

and I should specify it is part of my belief that Satan absolutely detests humanity and wants them all to suffer the same fate that he will after the rapture, an eternity in hell.
Well... okay. All I'm really noting is I'm not finding a scriptural basis for that belief. Which I think I've mentioned previously doesn't entirely bother me -- people have made plenty of junk up over the years.

I mean. It's an improvement. But it's not both monoeye and sufficiently zeon-y.

They're all gundams though ;_;

Yeah, the problem is mostly specifically with lying, RK. With that, you have to not only prove inaccuracy, but intent. They have grounds to sue for libel because being called a liar is a considerably worse statement in regards to character than being, say, incompetent (not fact-checking, allowing yourself to be fed false information (p.s. this is why you have low-rung political people give you information, in case they need be thrown under a bus)), mistaken, or misinterpreting information.

They (probably) don't have grounds for suing when the statements made are said to be flat wrong, but they may if it is said that the statements are made flat wrong knowingly. And the latter can be incredibly hard to prove in court.* Which, I would posit, is why news groups and whatnot don't explicitly say that. They stick to what they can reliably prove -- inaccuracies, mistakes, misinterpretations, and falsities (but, not necessarily fabrications, because, again, intent).

*E: Especially when you're dealing with incredibly experienced lying scumbags who will happily and nonchalantly deny every iota of intent that can be dragged out.

Its in interpretation for Satan's motives, most aren't put in there but its not hard to assume he hates us considering god loves us enough to give us free choice unlike the angels who were basically taken away any free will they had before the fall and were eternally stuck wherever they fell at that moment
That last bit is explicitly inaccurate -- Satan, one of the fallen, is straight up noted to be wandering around the earth long after its fall.

As for the assumption bit, not only is it quite hard to assume satan hates humanity -- when by actual account, it is subservient to YWHW's will and no more likely to hate mankind than YWHW is -- stating that assumption is something I would probably say is incredibly dangerous for a mindful christian to do. Character defamation without actual evidence is almost certainly something that's going to trigger the whole "false witness" thing.

Seriously. Attribute to it what it does and what is said of it, and no more, y'know? Which isn't actually all that much.

That list makes frumple's zaku soul sad.

The sissybot appears to have a nice gun, though. Also dongbot topping the list is amusing.

The US incarceration rate has very little to do with wrongful imprisonment and practically ruddy everything to do with with shitpoor legislation.

Hell is just the eternal punishment of god and the reason Satan wants people to go there is one of several reasons
He doesn't want more people to go to heaven
He hates humans with an unlimited passion
and a few probably many others that i forgot
Seriously, unless I missed a few verses when I checked through 'em, the only motivation for Satan that is explicitly stated in the bible was doing freaking YWHW's command in a couple of cases. That was it. Other than that, it deceived but its reason for deceiving was never stated.

And as for hell, it is magnificently ill described. There's some bits on fire, but the nature, extent, and so forth, insofar as I noticed, was unmentioned. There's also contradictory bits (like in that revelations bit -- 21 or 22 puts the sinners and whatnot outside the city, not in hell, alongside a couple other oddities.), parts that ascribe fire only to a specific group (sodom, gomorrah, and surrounding cities) or specifically to the rebellious angels and false prophets, with no mention made of others. I'm also seeing it alternately described as eternal darkness, plain destruction, or simple disconnection from YWHW's presence. It's a bit of a mess.

Also, no, there's no mention as to its size. Some mention of it actually being on earth, iirc.

And, interestingly enough, the bible apparently explicitly states the existence of Hades. What's up with that? Just shanghaiing another religion's word?

And most of the states have entirely too little accessible lava to deal with that sort of thing.

Don't blame the libertarians for this one. It's europe's fault. You bastards offloaded all your crazies over here, and unfortunately they bred. So now we actually have to have checks on state power, otherwise you have some lackwit mandating monthly duck fornication rituals and no one can stop them.
