Y'know, I'd never heard of this stuff before. Apparently humans will not only willingly eat shit, they will eat shit brewed in hot water and pay in excess of $100 USD per pound for the privilege.

@neo, of course you don't have an electron microscope in your back yard (probably), but yes, you can go get one and before deciding to use or not use it as a viable source of information go back and test everything that was tested before other people did. It'll take a few years/decades and probably many thousand dollars, but it's possible.

@tahu, nah, the big deal about it is the folks saying stuff about gravity on mars are also going, "This is how we found out." And you're welcome to repeat the process and see if the same thing happens.

Since no matter what happens, you have to just accept what someone is telling you for no reason.
... no? The big thing with science is, y'know, you can go check.

And II, it's not just an anime/manga thing. Non-live action stuff just has an easier time displaying it.

... can't tell because PoS website est. Transcript of some sort?

Though yes, that does sound like the only way they could be grandstanding more would be if they were shouting it while riding on top of an elephant, that is itself balancing on top of a giant spiked ball, with all of it being on fire.

Flabort, speaking as one Christian to another: you're not gonna win an argument here. Bay12 is a place that would be more accepting to others than most, but it's still pretty durn left-wing. I'm not saying don't defend your beliefs, I'm saying know when to fold them. 'When to fold them' may not be now, but I guarantee you that pursuing an argument will not end with you winning.
I'unno, you might be able to manage a truce of some sort so long as you're not a young earth creationist. There's a relatively large amount of shrug room involved in the big bang and whatnot.

And... Putnam, your vaguely fetishistic obsession with LoL is showing again. Can't be healthy, that. Just... just go play the bloody game, once, so you can say you did, and then go back to playing DotA and ignoring LoL, like sane people that dislike the latter do.

@C: ... yeah, you'd be good to be questioning the accuracy of the information your school is giving you. Why the hell is the spanish teacher babbling about evolution to begin with?

And @Furt, I have no idea. I call it one because you don't find out in game until a few levels in and I paid absolutely zero attention to the surrounding media and whatnot. I didn't even realize the thing had been released until like... yesterday. Day before. Something like that.

I am seriously beginning to question the accuracy of the information my school gives us.
... examples?

E: Also, I have now learned of the major plot point behind Hyrule Warriors.

It is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen.

They did get a bailout, to the tune of around 180 freaking billion dollars, and ended up netting a 22b profit. Now the bastards want more.

I'll give 'em this much. Balls the size of Jupiter. Need to be taken out behind the shed and put down, but they're damn sure audacious.

It may make you feel drowsy. Tried it once, heh, over the course of a week or so. Did precisely nothing. May be worth a shot, but I wouldn't approach the stuff expecting anything.

I thought locking people in psychiatric institutions was a USSR-only shtick?
No? From what I understand, similar things are... pretty common, insofar as it approaches "common". Crazy folks don't get treated particularly well at the best of times, never mind when legal issues are involved. And that's assuming they're crazy at all, and not just being put in an institute because someone didn't have the evidence to put them in jail but did have enough influence to convince a few doctors to say the right things.

... does either country even have a prison industrial complex? The "lack space" comment seems to suggest not, heh. Always more space for more penal slaves in good ol' USA. If not, build new place to turn profit on backs of prisoner labor and undercut domestic civilian production labor market! Privatization~ Building your electronics with viciously underpaid and subsequently unemployable criminals since a while now.

Here we get complaints from corporate scum bastards about not having enough slave labor prisoners to keep up with production quotas. If not enough space in other places, eh, fuck it, shove extra person into cell. Not enough people care if conditions turn to shit. Gotta' be sadistic subhuman pieces of filth "tough on crime". Nevermind it goddamn backfires. Who cares about the communities and families the process completely buggers. No one gives a damn about the amount our bullshit is funding southern cartels. And so on, and so forth.

Just... bleh. Frikkin' bleh.

... yeah, a "come hither"  look, in particular, has been a sexually charged bit of wording since... well, since before I was born, so. Decades. It's definitely a loaded phrase.

Which has pretty much jack all to do with the justice system being "lax", and just about goddamn everything with it doing near everything in its power to make sure criminals cannot re-integrate with society. Laxity has roughly fuckall to do with recidivism rates, unless you want to just start offing repeat offenders (which, no, isn't on the table).

Seriously, the US has some of the worst prison conditions in the western world, combined with more or less completely destroying an ex-con's ability to live a civilian life afterwards. The get put through a situation where rape and assault are massively more likely than in civilian life and afterwards have whatever hope of a future they had pretty close to completely wrecked. There's not terribly much else we can do outside of outright systematic torture.

... I'd probably posit that (one of) LA Pan's best early-game solution to elephants would be a small screen of units up front backed by a handful of dryads spamming tunes. Tune of fear, in particular, should be pretty ruinous to a squad of elephants, and growth is more or less tangle vines or vine arrow, but actually useful :P

If you can get in range, anyway, which becomes much easier when they're coming right at you. Dryads on tune duty is pretty useful in general for LA Pan, methinks, if you can get a handle on scripting them right.

Could also nab alt 2, bring along a pan and some minotaurs, and enlarge some critters up to no-sell trample size. Pan on panic duty would probably straight-up negate 'em, too -- if you've got const-4 and a D random pan, you could just forge up some skull standards and stick 'em on whatever, as well. That's one of your better things to be doing with non-caster commanders regardless, heh.

Really, anything in general that hits elephants in the morale is a good way to just make them go away. With rare exceptions, their morale is just kinda' terrible, plus when they rout they wreck the enemy as well. S'good stuff.

Hehe Frumple is totally out of it.
Let's make fun of him in his confusion.
Wish to hell and back I actually was totally out of it.

But no. Entirely too lucid for the amount of pain and bleeding I'm currently going through. Friggin' painkiller sensitivity. Normal dosages like to try to kill me, so huzzah pain :-\
