I direct you again to umihara kawase, in which you are capable of waging a war of genocide on presumably sentient seafood with a fishing lure. Stuff that's actually bog-standard weaponry, such as bows and arrows and whatnot, are going to pass the bar with ease.

Yeah, video game weapons are a diverse sort. If a fishing lure and an umbrella count, so does a blackjack. S'honestly quite nice to see variation beyond the fairly normal stabby/shooty stuff.

Would weapons from games you haven't actually played count? Never played katamari damacy, but as weapons go the katamari ball is one of the concepts I like better than many.

Coulda' sworn GDA does, but yeah, maybe not. Dispelling wand's probably the way to go to get rid of it, then. Scroll dispel is kinda' janky and personal dispel... also kinda' janky. Forget what the exact issue with it was (and it may have been fixed, I'unno). Use-magic boosted dispel wand strips pretty much anything, though. Might take a couple tries, but it'll get it.

As for that "you are unaffected" I'm fairly sure that's from the spell trying to put you somewhere it kinda' can't. Not a magic resistance thing. It's the same mechanic that makes (made?) teleport completely useless. Iirc, unless Choose has changed the behavior, a teleportation effect that's not uncontrolled (like, say, if you're a weavecrafter trying to cast PD) cannot put you anywhere except in line of sight. And by that, I mean places that you can actually see -- a weavecrafter in a cloud cannot (/could not -- again, choose may have changed the behavior) phase at all. PD on a non-weavecrafter shouldn't be running into that message, but a weavecrafter would be struggling with it all game if they didn't realize what was causing it.

Incomes didn't really rise at a rate matching inflation, that's what.

Could kinda' make the argument it's a drug, though, if you squint really hard and maybe lie a little. Same way jogging or exercise can be. Or food or whatever. All sorts of nice chemicals get released. Is at least part of the reason why it's good for you.

Umihara Kawase's fishing lure.
Mischief maker's more or less entirety of surrounding environment.
The umbrella in that one fantranz'd SNES game that's a fairly lengthy platformer revolving around a dude with an umbrella.
That one combination of spells in magic maker that turns (or turned, no clue if more recent versions have nixed it) you into a screaming pinball of unstoppable death.
Basically everything in that one game involving mice, cheese, and impromptu social experimentation, that I've forgotten the name of -- landscape, other mice, explosives, shaman abilities, whatever.
The massive buggeroff laser in Liberation Army -- also the macross missile massacre rocket spam one.
LINE weapons in Gearhead 2.
The warlock knife in hammerwatch.
Grenade machine gun in Infantry's Combined Arms.
Plasma Cannon in several different Infantry zones.
That one weapon in CA that shot the canisters into the air and dropped irradiated death in a v-shape afterwards.
Masers in general in Infantry.
Also the man-portable artillery.
And most of the sonic based weaponry, but especially the cannons.
Probably more Infantry stuff, too. Damn but the fancier stuff in that game was satisfying.
Galaga's laser thingy. Pew pew pew.

... that's good for a representative sample, I guess. Could probably keep going for a long, loooong time.

The small ones are cute, the big ones are obese, and the ones in the middle are just right. It's like a body shaming tale of mathematical goldilocks.

First one almost sounds like herzog zwei, but that's even earlier than '96.

Second one I definitely remember, but gods if I can recall the name :-\

Huh. So, uh. We apparently have a nation-wide fast food worker strike going on? Not quite sure about how many numbers, but this notes it's apparently happening in 150 different cities. Also apparently arrests for traffic blocking during the protests ::)

They are giving them to me under teacher supervision with the promise that the first thing to happen is the destruction of the harddrive (physicaly not clearing the stuff on it but destroy it)
Jeez but that's just... wasteful. Hellishly wasteful. Re-purposing the things (The DBAN followed probably with a slim linux OS install, maybe a small suite of useful software) and, hell, giving them out as charity to poor families or something would be the way to go if they're still functional. Y'don't recycle still functioning computers, imo. Use the buggers 'till they break, then take whatever parts are still working and use those.

Or just mail the hard drives to me or somethin', I could use a few dozen spare hard drives. Lots of people could. Get a nice docking station for 'em, plenty of extra space~

... but yeah, have you considered consulting local recycling centers? They might have a better idea how to squeeze materials out of an old computer, and if you're really lucky you might even be able to talk one of 'em into sending someone to campus to show you the ropes. If y'needed extra moxie to convince the faculty, could sell it as some kind of seminar, get other folks in on it. Extra credit out the wazoo.

Well, there we go. Where's the masturbation dislike come from? I always hear Onan mentioned in relation to it, but... well, you just covered that.

Silly people. Jesus doesn't frown upon masturbation, he frowns upon not knocking up your brother's widow. Onan would have been fine if he didn't have a sister in law to screw.

Yeah, the counterspell thing probably needs a ticket on choose's tracker thing if it isn't already there. I just turn counterspelling off in the options, personally. Usually not worth wasting the mana on, anyway. Just blow them up. Which yeah, when it comes to the bugs, that's how folks have won -- by avoiding them :P

Dispelled items come back after a while. Or should, anyway. Usually can just search a few times, or go take a nap. Greater dimensional anchor is something it's usually best to just sleep off, from what I've seen. Dispelling yourself is generally more trouble than it's worth, yeah. Has roughly the same effect as resting, except you still have a chunk of held mana just kind of being there.

You shouldn't be having to pass magic res checks when you're PDing yourself, though. I don't remember my drow having that problem. Actually, I just bounced a level one one around in version Y11 with no problem. Let me try with a weavecrafter real quick... nah, weavecrafters don't have that problem, either. Not sure what problem you're having, but I don't think it's magic resistance.

Does anyone else have PMs dating back to before July 01, 2010? I wonder if they got deleted at some point.
Furthest back I've got is August 2010. Does look like their might have been a loss or somethin'.

The what stripes? Dream Theater I know the name of, but...

Looking in to it, it looks like I've heard... two of their songs, maybe. Though I much prefer the joss stone genderflip of one of them. Looks like they started getting into the swing of things after I stopped listening to radio, which may explain why I have no real clue who the hell they are.

Also Jimmy the Exploder is a fairly decent piece of original fiction over on fictionpress. Didn't know it was a song.
