General Discussion / Re: Things that made you go "WTF?" today o_O
« on: August 29, 2014, 12:29:02 pm »
Nah, the style was part of it. Critter was specifically patterning its posts to provoke and whatnot, while still (ostensibly) staying within the guidelines. It's a fairly common trolling technique, honestly, made somewhat worse by the fact that there's actually some personalities that default to that style of communication unintentionally. Was notably more likely to be intentional, though, especially considering the subject and point(s) of origination for the individual in question, where that sort of thing is fairly common.

+1 to xkcd. Critter gets it.

Mm... yeah, re: xenos I distinctly remember non-killy imperial interaction with kroot mercenaries. Hell, from what I recall, at some point the imps have even used ork mercenaries without the inquisitorial hammer coming down on anyone. There's also ogrym, rat men and such, the entire Mechanicus... point being, that "purge the xeno, the mutant, and the heretic", is actually not as iron-clad a goal as certain members of the imperium like to make it out to be.

Mind you, the imperium isn't exactly tolerant, not even in the sense, say, the mongols or roman empire were, but they're not completely unwilling to work with the aberrant or inhuman. Just mostly.

I got to the point where I could parallel park with trucks. By that time, however, I'd just about beaten the game. Driving with wasd is hard.
Ah, at last! Buying a console version has a FUCKING ADVANTAGE
Nope. PC functional controllers are actually kinda' cheap, if you go for low end ones. There's also flat out adapters for console controllers, so... no. No advantage.

... a 1.2 ratio on her e is terribly nerfed? Ah, nevermind, they nixed the ridiculous ratio doubling. E is only .6. Also no more hilarious cd reset. How sad.

In exchange, built in +40% AP and 25% CDR passive. Also probably infinite mana (not sure what else to call 3% regen every time twin fang kills something) so :V

If things keep in line with what's in the linked bit now, deathcap on cass is going to be something amazing to see. Veigar tier AP, maybe?

But yeah, ratios are .35, .1, .6, and .5. On a character that can effectively wear two deathcaps. Whee!

Blood magpies steal the show again, huzzah.

Of course, unlike Ursa... he can't actually jungle... or kill Rosh by himself... or control a lane incredibly well... or lane at all actually...
So, uh. If he can't jungle, and can't lane... what's left? Being babysat?

My kids are just barely 6 and not yet born. I don't want to think about them dating yet.
You need to start early if you're going to construct a proper rube goldberg machine of appropriately violent courtship qualification, though. It takes time for the ostriches to reach full maturity, and imports are no good.

17544
I thought that was just riki...

Personally I think the archetype of gatekeeper is creepy, and a parent should act more as a guide.

As in, direct them to knowledge, keep an open dialogue about the subject, and be a place they can return to should their heart be broken.
Well sure. I don't see how that precludes breaking one or two little limbs, though. Gotta' keep up appearances and whatnot. Make sure the grand kids have a few good stories of when grandparent X twisted parent Y into a pretzel. Or when parent Y managed to escape by jumping out the second story window, stuff like that.

17546
*waggles hand* Maybe a little. I guess you could substitute other feats, as well. Like managing to escape before getting your legs broken, stuff like that.

17547
No, no, you'd do the same thing for your son. It's not a matter of protection, it's a matter of making sure the bloodline stays strong. "You must have suffered this many broken bones to ride the progeny-mobile" sort of thing.

Weren't the particular splinter fleets that hit WH40k land actually running from something, too? Coulda' sworn I remembered that as one of those idle fluff factoids that make you kinda' giggle.

17549
No, no. Do it more regal like. Purposeful.

"Today, I break your legs. Tomorrow, if you come back, I break your arms. The day after, if you return, I will grant you blessing to court my daughter."

And then you break his/her legs and send them on their way. The kid, mind. Not just their legs. No delimbing, just maiming.

Though yeah, on the name thing, give them something to remember you well by, but only if you don't expect to live to the point there's a strong likelihood they'll be your primary source of care. Zero intention of having kids, personally, but I was always fond of Taro Pantyhose <Lastname>. No less than three vectors of torment in that one. Bull, toilet paper, and the obvious.

The orkz have conquered the universe, insofar as they're concerned. It's exactly how they want it. WH40k is basically ork heaven. They don't want victory, they want a fight.
