Except they're still treated disproportionately well compared non-whites in similar conditions, Phmcw. Incarceration rates alone are proof perfect of that. Which is the point being made -- yes, being white in the states is being part of a privileged group. You are notably more likely to be treated better, especially by the major systemic powers (politics, law, business), if you're white than if you're part of a different demographic. Regardless as to your societal status. That's what being part of a privileged group means.

Nah. Just that they are less likely to commit suicide (or, possibly just as important, less likely to succeed). And, again. Soldier statistics from Israel. Guns away from homebound soldiers, 40% drop in national suicide rate. That's about as damning a statistic as statistics get.

There's a great number of europeans here, for whom the states' raging gunboner is generally a puzzling and worrisome fetish. Plus a good handful of pro-gun-control+pro-gun-ownership folks. Support for something approaching actual gun control isn't exactly opposed in these parts.

Also some of your normal NRA spectrum opinion sets re: gun control, sure, they've just got something of a habit of getting themselves banned at some point or another.

You did have a jetpack in soldat, but one of the things you could do with some of the recoil heavy weapons (in particular, the minigun/chaingun thing) was make yourself go faster/stay up longer. There was a good handful of maps you could traverse the entire thing without touching the ground, using dakka to keep yourself aloft. Kinda' useless for doing damage, a lot of times, but potentially hella' good for flagnapping and whatnot.

You've also got a pretty sizable power bloc in the US that's quite specifically pushing for poor handling of the drug situation in general. Whatever puts the most people behind bars, gets the most material seized, etc.

The thing to be noted is that it's a multivariant issue. There's not a "the" justification involved with pretty much any of this stuff, but rather whole nets of different justifications making the situation notably more difficult to actually do anything about
