Care to share how to mess up Baked potatoes?  I mean maybe you can overcook them, but other then that there isn't a way.
Overcooking, undercooking, not cleaning the damned thing, leaving eyes and whatnot in, the occasional bug/worm or whathaveyou. Etc., so forth, so on. That's not even getting into potential disasters involving seasoning and such.

Baked potatoes just set your expectations for the meal so low that it's not possible to be disappointing.
If baked potato is the low bar, I guess... what, everything above it is ambrosia and manna and whatnot? Seeing as how nicely baked potato is one of the most delicious of delicious things, if it is low, only that which the gods drink must be the next step up.

You. How are you getting deliveries from Olympus? Give me the divine phone number of Hermes!

There's really no way to fuck up baked potatoes.
This is untrue. It's not easy, and you really do have to seriously botch things, but you can definitely fuck up baked potatoes. I have had some damn nasty baked potato in my lifetime.

Of course, the opposition to that, especially at the age it needs to start being taught (early teens), in the states is so vocal and numerous than it's basically not going to happen for at least another couple generations. S'just too many people that won't budge on the issue for much improvement to be made until they're dead.

Thing learned: After getting teeth removed, if the bleeding continues for more than a few hours, apparently a moist tea bag can help induce clotting. Good to know.

... today I learned nitrous leaves me entirely too lucid. Definitely don't see the appeal as anything recreational, for that. Mostly just numbing.

Bright side, it did help keep things numb. Little pain involved in the wisdom teeth coming out, but it was rather disconcerting.

Now to wait for the novocaine to wear off. Then fun times! And until then, a mouth that tastes entirely too much like blood and gauze. Unpleasant, that.

E: No, first gauze swap. Now it just kinda' tastes like blood. Blegh.

E2: And there's the pain. Wheeeargh.

Wikipedia is, as usual, your friend.

Amusingly, at least one of the major schools of thought re: Jack O'Lanterns is that they did originate in Ireland. Just not carving pumpkins.

Squash in general, of which pumpkin is a subset, did apparently originate in the americas, though.

you know what needs to be done
But MZ is not a hatchery. He can't spawn additional overlords. Punching can go a long way, but not quite that far.

You know how you were told that there would always be slackoffs, even when you get out of school?

It's true.
Quote
had a team presentation to put together today. 33 slides across 6 people.  We coordinated who would do what and went to work.
15 minutes before deadline we were putting all our slides together and determining how they will be presented.
You're right, 'tis indeed true. You seem to have found six of them >_>

Less ribbingly, let this be a noted and hopefully learned lesson that trying to put together the fruits of a group project fifteen minutes before a deadline is a bad idea. Day before, hour(s) before, etc., so forth, so on. When you give yourself no wiggle room for setbacks, you cultivate disaster.

Given that the thing was apparently done over the course of a single day, the tight time constraints are somewhat understandable, but... if you have any option whatsoever besides cutting it close like that, take that option. Especially when you're coordinating with other people and not particularly able to keep track on everyone's efforts (and them, on yours) in real time. Otherwise you get sideswiped by stuff like part of your team not having done much of anything, instead of knowing about it and either galvanizing them or compensating for their lack of effort. Learning experience! Take more time, next time.

It seems anytime I get inquisitioned I get a drop in relations; I've been purgifying/cleansifying orks at every possible moment and my killcount is probably reaching the tens of thousands; what am I doing wrong?
Accruing xeno taint, apparently. Maybe spend some time purifying the self instead of consorting with xeno scum. Rather imagine surrendering a few artifacts to the holy inquisition would be an appropriate sign of penance >_>

Re: Nids: Maybe just avoid them? Or avoid space combat, anyway. Get to a planet before they do, drop troops, haul out and let the ground combat occur? No clue if the AI bombards or not.

Alternately, well, spend however long it takes to match them in combat. Maybe let them smash themselves on a few (dozen) other (imperial, tau, whatever) fleets, first.

What is it about the letter U that Americans don't like?
It's less the letter U and more the extra letter. Check is shorter. Also looks a lot more like what it sounds like. Both good things.

It actually doesn't. It just selects everything in the same ship. If you start with a company of scouts or whatev' spread out among your escort warships, not noticing that is a good way to offload without the majority of your scouts.

Is spelling "cheque" as "check" an American thing, or was it an honest mistake and I'm an arsehole for pointing it out?
Bit of column A. They're both recognized, generally, but most folks I've ran into spell it check unless they're feeling meaninglessly fancy. It could be an honest mistake, too, though. The spellcheck on this browser doesn't recognize cheque as a word, so I imagine other folks just trust the spellcheck it's misspelled instead of looking into it further.

Something about greco-roman wrestling -- IN SPACE!

Moon-sweat glistening across rippling manflesh, the solar winds blowing gently around two fierce young men locked in combat in the lower orbit of Titan... truly, the spectacle of the future.

The sports of the year 2160 will be defined by the question, "Are, uh. Are they fighting, or...?"

Or maybe just do some nice VR and tell all that silly physics where it can shove itself.
