Those gifs (well, the worker critters) are... very warcraft. The first one, ha. Not a bad thing, but it did pretty immediately jump out at me.

I like how jesus went 12/12/12.

Think what you might be unaware of, Gav, is that pot is a gorram huge portion of the illegal drug trade. Between it and other (relatively) soft drugs (LSD, ferex, or, y'know, alcohol and tobacco, which are already legal), even if it didn't completely "fix" the legal side of the drug situation in the states, it would be a ridiculously massive improvement.

And for further bonus, it would rip the southern cartels a new asshole -- pot alone makes up something like a third of their income, iirc.

Beyond that, a simple decriminalization in general (of possession and use, if not necessarily the sale of) would go a tremendous distance in fixing the situation and getting people out of jails (so they can, y'know, work, take care of their families, etc., so forth, so on.).

Bad in the light of Robin Williams' death. You could have said that around the time he died.
I probably would have refrained from that particular line if I'd known he had kicked it. Just today, too...

Mine seem to think computer radiation will stop me from having children, and give me cancer.
So will breathing if you do it long enough. They should be campaigning against that, too.

Stop respiration oppression! Asphyxiate now, and keep breathing from killing you!

I don't know what you are talking about coverage - normal armor doesn't give you ac bonus, and coverage makes you better at avoiding armor-punching hits, and is increased by shields.
Shields and armor both give coverage -- and specifically, if you have no coverage, stuff like bonebat attacks -- most special melee attacks, from what I can recall, among other things -- pretty much automatically hit (barring dodging, of course). With coverage, though, there's a chance to actually block the effect, sometimes.

It's largely irrelevant to your average mage -- just like armor or DC is, really, because you're never going to be in a situation where a physical attack is hitting you unless you're playing suboptimally -- but it does mean that all the AC in the world isn't really going to do much for you without some coverage to back it up. Even if it's natural armor. I stopped using mage armor at all after the sixth or seventh mage that got ambushed into statdeath by bonebats, ha. Started just putting on leather armor or somethin'.

Still, regarding the barkskin/Mage Armor combo specifically, it does look like it's a fairly decent AC boost. I'd actually forgotten the specific mechanics of multiclassing disparate casters, so eh. Still notably worse than actual armor overall, due to the whole not-actually-armor (and thus, no enchantments) thing, and doesn't really do much to help the character in question to actually do anything in melee (BAB et al), but it might be interesting to dip for that much then swing into an actual melee class. Shame it's not compatible with monk stuff... or barbarian, looking at it, since mage armor counts as medium.

... now I'm kinda' wondering why bother with mage armor at all. Just nab bark skin and wear light armor. Or actual armor. I guess if you're going wildshape druid?

E: Or spirit armor, I suppose, if you'd rather go necromancer instead of abjurer. Bit more investment into mage, but eh.

Yeah, I belatedly noticed that just having one planned isn't enough. Incidentally, for the ASCII version (not sure if the graphics one has something similar) planned rooms might could stand a coloration difference. Slightly darker or lighter or something -- currently, it's pretty much impossible to visually tell what is or isn't constructed.

Also, casting word of power while possessing the keeper apparently straight CtDs. No crash log, unfortunately.

E: Reading (well, applying, technically) scrolls in adventurer mode can apparently straight CtD, too. Yikes.

17754
Hrm. Just had a crash in keeper mode with the latest bugfix. Crash log has this: FATAL util.h:712

And nothing else. Happened after I clicked on golem, in the spell menu thing. Did have golems researched, did have a couple labs up. Not sure what caused it.

E: Ah, right. Playing the free version, sorry. Forgot to mention that.

Also, my latest game is having this weird thing where it's spamming me about having exterminated the armed forces of something or another. I haven't actually seen any hostiles yet in this game, and the message is popping up every sixty turns or so. Can provide a saved game, if it'd help any.

E2: Throwing a potion of sleep at a lizardman chieftain while in possession of the keeper caused a flat crash to desktop -- no crash log, no error message.

... would definitely suggest, at the least, a darker shade of grey. Or black, dark blue, something less contrast-y and stark. I feel a headache coming on just looking at the preview, nevermind actually spending hours playing the map ;_;

Mm... yeah, with no idea of the prof or the books not assigned, it gets trickier.

The bright side is there's a strongly non-zero chance -- especially with the conditions you've noted -- that the teachers will be understanding and/or supportive of students that don't immediately have their books at the beginning of the semester (and if not, well, kindly point out to them it's their administrative fuckup that's caused this, not yours. In more polite terms, of course, but still.) because the books in question are still on their way. Think the latest I've gotten a book was like 2-3 weeks into the course, a couple of times so far, due to stuff like what you're talking about. Because goddamn hell no am I paying $200+ more than I have to for a textbook, even if it does mean having some difficulty following the class for the first month or missing some assignments or whatever.

Other good idea is to contact your adviser with pertinent information regarding the situation -- they may actually know (or be able to find out) more than is publicly accessible and/or be able to sooth things over with whatever teacher you do end up with, if you do end up having to wait a couple weeks to chop off a couple hundred bucks from a book. Beyond sympathy and understanding, the blighters do want your money (regardless as to if it's you, specifically, or a third party, doing the actual paying), and they're pretty strongly incentivized to bend a little, where possible, to keep you on campus, in classes, and paying tuition and fees. Or, if possible, contact your fellow students. There's a strong possibility that one or more would be willing to share book access for a bit while your own copy is in transit -- maybe in exchange for studying help or a lil'cash or whatev', but who knows.

17757
Also, college book prices. What the hell.
If you haven't already, check online. Used, rentals, ebook (Legit or otherwise, and providing your class is cool with an ebook -- check with the teacher, make no mention of source if sketchy), whatever. Also potentially check with the teach to make sure older editions won't work the class -- sometimes they do, and they're likely to be cheaper than whatever the class is using. Do not buy from the college or local bookstore(s) unless you have absolutely no other option. They are almost certainly ripping you off to a massive degree, comparatively.

E: Though you're probably still going to be dropping at least a couple hundred. S'just less likely to be several hundred.

17758
Ones here start... 19th? Teachers are already back at it. School system in general, though, not just high school or whatev'.

Yeah, chat nothing, I'm currently completely incapable of connecting to steam at all. No clue what's up, hum.

Mebbe'? Was in the process of kicking steam back on, just now. And eating. Mostly eating. Would be up for whatev', though.
