Fucking lobsterass becoming a rickroll replacement would categorically make 2022 worse, bleh.

1802
I can guarantee the school would be far from amused if you started sending your kids there with crust beer :P

1803
I only have to go as far back as a great grandfather to find a slave owner (or close enough to it it's not worth making a distinction), m'self. Plenty of rapists, extremely violent domestic abusers, and so on, too, even without getting into the royalty parts. Person I am today ain't nearly worth the suffering my ancestors inflicted on folks :V

1804
I would so much like to punch past me in the face! (Okay, maybe current me too.)
Past me was fine, but there's a great deal of my ancestors that could stand a stabbing if it wouldn't unravel reality or somethin'.

... there'd be a lot of people to kill if going that route, though. Kings to unking, slavers to defenestrate into a shark's mouth, etc. Plenty of us probably have some part of the family tree that would have made the world a less miserable place if it had been trimmed, really... being US South with European royalty back there somewhere it's less like "some part" and more like "huge chunks", heh.

1805
Dragons and stuff puke all the time in D&D, though. They just propagandize their upchuck as elemental breaths and whatnot, trying to make murder!hairballs sound dignified.

1806
I'd figure the collective superbugs we've become immunized to over centuries would promptly wipe out most life on earth or somethin'.

Clearly, that means we must praise hypnotoad and throw ourselves into a collective bonfire to save the future generations, and presumably avoid us murdering our several times great grandparents with a paradox plague. This also neatly dodges the possibility of becoming our many times great grandparents in an act of mass chronotalogical incest.

So no downsides except the whole dying in a fire thing. Should go well!

1807
meanwhile: "I'm sorry you have to work on [holiday]"

my brother in christ, you came here on [holiday], you're the reason I'm working [holiday]
it's the capitalist misery ouroboros, they're at your shop on [holiday] wasting money because you're there to open it on [holiday] because they're at your shop on [holiday] wasting money

just think, if you hadn't been opened they could have found something else to do with their time so you wouldn't have opened :V

Did... you have the right phone number?

1809
16.99 and 20 USD flat, the two most common purchase price points in the library I work at, by, like... a wide margin. Today I learned this. It doesn't mean much, but it's interesting to see.

Numbers can be funny, sometimes. Trying to fix up some data discrepancies in our system, I found out today there are exactly 69 items that are supposed to (but currently don't) have an 18 dollar replacement cost in our branch libraries.

It's like reality was trying to make a puerile age of majority joke, and succeeded.

They rolled out more or less the same comment about two months ago, according to the thread search. It's more or less spurious, as near as anyone seemed to be able to tell.

Canon in D but it keeps getting jazzier

e:i particularly like the bit where the transcriber goes "gradually add more wrong notes aka jazz"

E2: Y'know, I think I knew black midi existed, but this Hall of the Mountain King remix may be the first time I've actually listened to one. I likes it!

I'd douse them in rubbing alcohol, but then they probably wouldn't work, so why bother?
(Not the valuable drinking alcohol!)
Last time I did that to earbuds they came out fine, actually? Just don't let them, like, soak. You clean off with a rag or paper towel or whatever, then dip in rubbing alcohol a few times and wipe back down. Probably let sit for a bit to dry out good before trying to use them.

Iirc, there's not going to be something alcohol's going to mess with much in the part of a earbud that goes into you unless there's something pretty wrong with the things.

Oh, I'm okay with coconut as a flavor. I just hate coconut flakes with a great deal of intensity. They're more or less the absolute worst food texture I've ever encountered.
