Apocalypse zone $0.02: Dark Sun always kinda' enthralled me, and handled the cause fairly well, imo. Much of that fascination was probably because of the existence of fairly badass cannibal halflings/elves and the pretty awesome computer games from way back when, but whatev'. I liked it.

Giving it a shot -- sorta' tried back in the pre-sub beta, but it didn't work at all (couldn't even connect, nevermind play) on this computer, and, well...

... first trying with the robot critters. Currently killing chaos plants, or something. Desperately wishing I could click on the larger map to move places. Also wishing I had some idea how the hell my little bot things worked. They mostly seem to pop up and immediately die or... something. And they have levels I have no idea how to improve *shrugs*

At least the gloriously purple death beam thing is doing alright, even if I have no idea how to get my stasis percent damage thing to go higher. Should read the book again, but the last time I did I didn't notice anything useful. Much opaqueness, very confuse. I guess shoving all my stat points into initiative and health is a good idea? I'unno.

E: Oh, right. Frog-thing named Solippu, on Nox. Currently no nation. Not on right now, etc. Probably tomorrow.

ensuring that I can't close my door.
Hahaha, I'unno, I always found that just shutting it anyway got the point across, eventually. Or gave their tail interesting new shapes Same with cat getting on places near me I didn't want 'em: *lift, toss, repeat until understanding is reached or cat is concussed* don't actually concuss your cats what the hell person

Less sociopathically, just move the cat somewhere else. Gently and whatnot. Particularly with the desk thing, it's almost certain it just wants attention or whathaveyou, and detects a captive audience. Find way to keep near that's not in the way. Raised milk crate, bowl, whatev'. Sufficient repetitions will eventually work, usually. You just have to be more stubborn than the cat.

I'd vote for dong and donger, m'self. Donger's the one that goes in, since they are what's raised.

Mm. When it does that, try closing a few things. I've had something similar happen, and it seems to be memory related or... something. Closing the largest memory imprint programs tends to kick it back on at some point. Almost seems like the sound gets stuck or something in one program and then refuses to function anywhere else. Weird stuff, mildly annoying, easy to unstick, if not stop from happening.

You really shouldn't discriminate so strongly against tattoos, WM :I

There's nothing horrifying about a couple of poor tats. Maybe a little sad, but not horrifying.

Seeing out of your face would be goddamn terrifying, though. Entire face suddenly becoming capable of visual reception, without all the fiddly bits that make the stuff that goes into the eyes come out sane? You'd flip out and go crazy in minutes.

The only punishment that entails is a longer lifespan and healthier prostate, apparently. Unless you get really excessive, and then terrible things happen.

... more seriously, it's not uncommon for a person to not quite grok what sort of image they're putting out, so what you feel isn't an outward sign of pity attraction might not actually be so.

Of course, the amazing thing is that someone, somewhere, is actually buying enough of those things, at that price, that they're able to do that and not completely lose market. Somehow.

Water, penguin. Water. More water. Dehydration, fixing, etc. Or not getting hungover to begin with.

You have to do something like this
Code: [Select]

Which would show this:

There's actually a little button you can press in all that formatting stuff that's normally above the box you type in to, if you don't want to bother actually typing out the [img] parts. The bit that goes in between the tags is the address of wherever you're hosting the image. I personally use upl.co, but there's a number of image hosting sites if you don't have personal webhosting.

Maybe it thought it was time for some variety.

Though I'd hope it would suggest something... else. Prokofiev or Bajo Fondo or... whatever, really.

That feeling when you're listening to a quite nice piece of music, and a couple minutes into it... someone starts to sing. And they're... less than good.

It's just. Thank you for taking a massive acoustic dump in middle of this nice soundscape ;_;

Why do people do this to the music they make ;_;

Vocals are entirely too often so jarring augh

E: I mean, I respect that they're trying, and I totally understand the incredibly massive skill necessary to sing worth a damn for a strong majority of musical styles, but is it really so hard to realize what terrible things one just did to that piece of music?

The UMS that this game is based off was called NOLD or Night of the Living Dead.
Yeah, I was specifically talking about NoLD custom map -- like I said, there were another two or three like it that were also fairly notable at the time, I've just forgotten what they were called. Always wanted to play one, but they were quite possibly even more toxic to newcomers than the more competitive AoS maps were, iirc. Definitely familiar with the SC and WC3 custom maps in general, heh -- I was there when Dynasty Warriors/Aeon of Strife first hit SC, nevermind its varying later knockoffs.

If you've played old school Warcraft 3 custom maps from back in the day, you know this type of game.
I suddenly realized I have forgotten the name of every single one of those. I think there were, what, three, maybe four prevalent ones?

All I remember is I was pretty much never able to actually play them. Noobs got kicked. Always. And most of them you couldn't really play singleplayer, even on a solo lan map or whathaveyou, which meant getting cross-game XP or whatever was pretty much impossible. Bleh.

Still. Nice to see another WC3 custom map in wilds.
