Cold pizza is also delicious.

But, more than that: Microwave? Stove? Blowdryer? Sun-warmed rocks? Many and varied are the means of heating. The greatest trick of unwanted cold pizza is convincing the hungry there is no means of becoming hot.

I'm not sure which of skyru's or obj is the trappier, though. Skyru's is in a weird (and somewhat amusing) place.

I have no idea what the problem was, m'self. I look at pictures and see two identical ones side by side, slightly offset.

Can we have a True story, auntie Truean? * Sirus gives puppy dog eyes. *

I cooked up some egg-fried rice!

Despite uh... Suboptimal tools and some spillage of ingredients, the final result was tasty and filling for a lunch. So I'm pretty happy about that, considering it was my first time cooking that.
Grandparent taught me the most incredible trick for making egg rice. Just... crack the eggs open. Do the little stirry thing. And pour 'em right into the rice as it's cooking. Egg rice! Is verra nice. Ridiculously easy to cook.

Today's level of mind-numbing stupidity: I forgot to eat. I had one job.
... you're a taste tester?

Anything short of durable rails or a meter of poured concrete, and I suspect you would find you're halfway underground.
Giant mole bot.

Also steampunk Shai-Hulud. Especially steampunk Shai-Hulud. The tea must flow.

Yes, yes. Did read that one. It was pleasing, albeit it felt short. At this point, I've read (or at least started to read, and then discarded) almost all the ones on FF.N over about 40k words... and more (like Earthscorpion's >_>). Also good chunk of the non-Xover worm ones. People are doing neat stuff with that setting, and Frumple is much digging.

E: Though I will say it felt considerably different, between the two of them. Hope is, well... there's hope and stuff. Less overt brutal, especially to taylor (from what I can recall, anyway). Acceleration was more things going fast and then going faster, and damn does T and several other people get tied to the back of the vehicle and dragged across the pavement during the process, even if Taylor is a magnificent wrecking ball in both of them.

E3: Though, to be fair, that difference in feeling may be because I read through the entirety of acceleration in three freaking hours. HTOF took longer. Despite being about 15k words shorter.

E2: But yes, I do enjoy pieces which have characters that can be acceptably described as "magnificent wrecking balls", at least when it's done well -- it takes some skill to not fumble that premise (The difficult part is magnificence. Wrecking balls are easy.), and it often makes things just... interesting. And I like interesting.

Honestly, today... yeah, maybe. The slant eyes would be normal for asiatics, and the buck teeth is standard xenophobia drivel -- patterning the target after animals, especially vermin (rats, in this case). Thick glasses would be an anti-intellect thing -- even today I've heard the stereotype of asian folks being "good at math" pretty regularly.

So, no, I'm not sure it would be unheard of in the modern era. Fairly sure that sort of stereotype could show up in a metaphorical vacuum, regardless of the propaganda push of yesteryear.

This.

Short form: Taylor is the Railgun, then holy shit everything explodes. Long form: Worm/Certain Scientific Railgun xover. I, right now, massively recommend it to anyone and everyone. Rapid, brutal, well written and just damn. Damn. I started reading, got hooked, and burned through the entire thing in right at three hours. Because holy hell, this thing grabbed me by the brain pan and dragged me through awesome.

Also I have a slight headache now.

E: Oh, uh, right. People die! Just... guess that should be warned about, somewhere in there. I mean, you probably should be expecting it given it's wormverse, but, well. Things stop moving. Several things. If that's an issue.

There were apparently some home and anger issues (especially the latter, really), as well. The age and good ol' hormones screwing up emotional state probably weren't helping, though.

You could even have special matches, like rioters vs riot police, or wenches vs fence posts.
Much improved with the removal of a single letter.

Jeez, mict, seigebuddy, pal. You've been rubbing yourself on my walls for months and now this. I feel for you, poor fellow. All your stuff is gone ;_;

Now just gotta' wait for my turn. Or maybe build up huge piles of asp turtles or something so no one can take the waters from me and just sit and wait. Forever.

And completely aside from what you think "should" be the "right" way to do it, you have not addressed the original argument -- if you make everything transparent, then the politicians are forced to put on their election persona 24/7 and no laws ever get passed. How do you propose for that horrible side effect to not happen?
Right -- because that's the only possible results. No, I'd rather say the electorate will wise up and elect people able to do their bloody job -- which is the entire ruddy purpose of us having a freaking republic! One or two cycles -- if that -- with nothing getting done and the political engine having a serious motivation to back off the partisan bullshit and things would normalize.

And if not, well, we get what we deserve. Still better than having no idea what the hell the people we elected are doing.
