Can confirm that. Preserves, too.

Wait, wait. Are you two saying there's a new judge dredd movie?
I refer to this one. I can't tell if you're unaware of the most recent release, or playfully denying it's validity, so I figure a straight answer is the way to go.
Friend Baug, in my case it's definitely lack of awareness. I pay about as much attention to TV and movies these days as the average person does to the dust shifts in the lunar sea of serenity. The first judge dredd movie -- and, more importantly, the video game -- just happened to be around when I was still somewhat attentive to 'em, heh.

And suddenly MSH is spouting words I regularly hear in the middle of bigotstan north florida. If fucking backbones lead to that, I'm not quite sure I'm ready to begin fornicating with spines.

I'll admit, I don't actually care enough about the demographics of New York to have identified what sort of population layout it was running. 4-6 million would put it about at the midway point in population rankings, for what that's worth.

More curious about the question itself, though. Do the upstate new york folks actually want to split off?

I'm not entirely sure there's enough people in non-New York New York to matter at all, Owl.

Not bricks, per se, but smaller pieces of masonry... yes, if my memory's not failing me. Once. Beaky little neck twisting jerks. It's only fair to adjust the size differential of projectile to match the differential in projecter, I'd say.

Mind you, I've never actually tossed something non-organic at ducks and don't really intend to, but if that's the measure of justification m'covered.

Ah. Yeah, I can understand that better. Hard to feel it, myself -- throwing things at local wildlife was something only arguably superseded by just plain shooting the things, where I grew up, and in the case of certain subsets (the aggressive poisonous snakes, ferex, may all cottonmouths drown in a ditch) of 'em were honestly desirable from the human perspective -- but I can definitely understand it, especially from a city-dweller's perspective where the critters are more akin to nice lawn ornaments than violently annoying and/or destructive and/or deadly pests. Mind, I'm also a lot more live and let live in regards to animals than I was when I was younger, but there's still plenty of antipathy left over for a lot of 'em.

I'm cool with turtles, though. They would get brick return fire in their defense. Not the ducks, though. Ducks are gigantic jackwads. Pretty sure swan are, too. Most waterfowl, really. Often pretty, but kinda' terrible to have around, except for the cooking and eating. Not quite in my chicken category* of animal morality, but not far from it.

*Anything goes, screw the bastards first. This is reserved for exceptionally amoral monsters that will happily eat people. Particularly impressive since most animals have no concept of morality. Chickens are just that much of a set of bastards. Were they not so delicious, I would spend the remainder of my life driving them to extinction. I don't hate chickens, I just recognize that their continued existence is a threat to my own and treat them appropriately given that diplomacy is impossible and they know only hunger and hate.

Jeez, if that 4x community vote goes through... Dominions 4 at 75% off? Nice. Pretty big if, though.

I'm mostly just confused by you seeming to get pissed at kids... not throwing a brick into a canal? And some other one messing with a turtle a bit? This is some strange british anger, isn't it? I guess there's... ducks in the canal that might get hit, or... something?

I can understand being annoyed at kids being kids, though. It takes a while before that whole amorality thing starts wearing off, or so I hear. Something about brain development, I'unno.

Yeaaahhh, weather has kinda' made my situation a little unstable. Tornado touched down nearby, was without power for ~6 hours, storm's rolling back in, not sure how well things are going to go. Don't think I'll need an extension, but if an eye could be kept on things...

I love what's normally called bad weather. I love it less when a tornado comes down less than a dozen miles away and knocks out the power for a good chunk of the day. Also major storm is apparently starting to kick off as I type, sooo... power has good chance of going again before the night's over. At least the rain keeps the heat off, a little. Until it stops and there's no AC and hello post-storm swamp hell, ahahaha.

At least power's back for a bit. Maybe'll it'll trudge through.

Yeeaaaahhh... didn't make it today. Had a tornado touch down <10 miles from here, killing the local power for a good five or six hours -- just came back on, for the time being. Pretty good chance of power loss again, tonight, as well, so... yeah.

Well, they need to hurry up and use these awesome new(ish) instruction sets/hardware setups to build programs that update all the old programs, then. Things would be able to roll in pretty easy after that, I would think. Sounds pretty simple to me. Not easy, mind, but definitely simple :P

Think the point they're making is it's an independent country in a similar sense the USA or UK is. Not so much one as several shoved under one banner. Singular more in an administrative sense than cultural.
