... out of curiosity, what was the bylaw?

Mildly irritated, as things go, but my prolonged hatred of this state and this season turns mild irritation in invocations of violent geological and/or astronomical sodomy. Were I actually mad, I'd probably take up fracking lobbying in the hopes of detaching the state from the continent and sinking it into the sea (As to how that would manage massive geological damage, the answer is gross malpractice). Bonus points with it probably causing a blanket ban of the practice everywhere else in the country afterwards.

=_=

I imagine that's the joke, but Secret of Evermore isn't a Secret of Mana game, and Legend, while still good, is arguably the least favored of the series. SD2 & 3 (Secret of Mana 1 & 2, though the latter has never seen an official translation) are the crowns of what's reached the states in one form or another.

SoE is... very much its own thing. While the combat system is fairly similar, that's pretty close to it. Different themes, strongly different mechanics, very different sort of story, only somewhat similar art style. It's still good, but having played the lot of them, it's definitely not something I would associate with the Seiken Densetsu line.

Well hell. If you've never played a seiken densetsu game, I am contractually obligated to suggest you play it. I mean, I love to Ogre series, but seiken densetsu est. Very different, but still. Sword of Mana (SD1, more or less) is fairly similar to Secret of Mana (SD2), though~

It's just, y'know, the first in the series made prettier. Hard to say which of the first three I like better... I mean, the first is arguably the worst (of them), but while the third is just incredible it's also a bit more sprawling than the second, which is still an incredibly solid experience (especially in multiplayer >_<). Even legend is kickin', though -- absolutely beautiful game, if arguably mechanically weaker than its predecessors. The mana art style is just one of my favorite things ever, to say nothing of the music.

1 PM is not. the bloody time. to load up a goddamn riding lawn mower on to a trailer. In florida. In the summer.

Two things that may violently fornicate themselves with an entire cornucopia of rusty farming tools:

1. Florida.
2. Summer.

And if they don't want to. I am there for them. Their sphincter. And the entire damaged tool supply of north florida. All the tetanus shots in the world will not be enough.

You can't make a different thread Frumple.

Men's issues are mostly mocked.
I'm pretty sure someone could manage it. The major problem with the ones I've seen on B12 were that they were either started by MRA types or rapidly infested by a few particularly shrill ones. Which, yeah, those get mocked, because they're imminently (and, to a degree, deservedly) mockable. Gender issues for the fellas is a topic of discussion that can be treated with dignity. It just tends to go poorly due to a few nitwits trying to play oppression olympics or something similarly ridiculous in regards to the subject.

@ Neo: Pretty sure vec addressed that last bit when she noted the incredible preponderance of occurrences when discussions about women's issues -- such as, y'know, this thread was started about -- are wrenched into a discussion of men's issues as well or instead. Which... yeah, keeps happening. And yes, that does present the message "it's always gotta' be about men", at least in part. When it's not, someone comes in and tries to make it so, instead of, y'know, going to a different thread or whatnot.

Mind you, the one or two men's issue threads that I can remember popping up burned hard, but eh.

Nah, they're just easily (probably by intent) confused with female cats.

the company's "full time PR manager" plays in the trash can instead of doing her job.
Apropos of nothing, per se, but it's always kinda' amazed me someone taking a few minutes out of their day to play around is collated with not doing their job. It's just... the weirdness of it. A person sees probably less than 5/96th (five minutes of an eight hour day) of a single day and goes on to extrapolate that's representative of the other 89/96ths of every other day. Or even that one day. Or something along those lines. Bloody odd, and I guess one of the driving forces behind the royally screwed up views a lot of management type folks have about productivity.

It's... not very uncommon, from what I've seen. Notable figures such as teachers and (particularly) police officers are often individuals quite a lot of people don't really want to interact with. Drawing attention from 'em is often a kind of passively avoided thing. So they go to the next down on the social rung, so to speak.

Anyway, I think it's calm down time for rolepgeek. When you're setting up crude impressions of people who disagree with you and yelling in all caps maybe it's time to evaluate your frame of mind.
Probably won't help, G. Most likely near-future occurrence is the thread getting locked and boss Toad giving go ahead for it to be recreated with an active OP. Nivim hasn't been active since february, and it's kinda' obvious th'thread could stand someone to ride herd on it when folks start shouting and directly attacking people. Things were getting more unstable than usual when UV came in, and m'fairly sure role has done most of what was necessary to sink it. RIP, incredibly inaccurate thread title.

18357
Nah... nah. We'll let 'em win. S'the only thing their country has, would be even more cruel than normal to take it from 'em.jokejokejoke

It was in the WTF thread, poke.

Maybe it's the missing ns? Gunninanrunnin would...

... no, nevermind, that looks even worse in regards to misreading. I got nothin'.

E: Well, spaces or dashes or apostrophes would fix it, for a certain meaning of fix, in regards to being misread. But it would be bigger, then, and have funny non-letter things in it. Camel case might do it, too.
