... the GOP's been pandering to the middle? What? I mean, I haven't been paying near as much attention as I should, but aiming toward centrist isn't exactly how the republicans have been coming off... pretty much anywhere, at any level, that I've noticed. I mean, from what I've been understanding (one of) the major reason(s) they're having the troubles they're having is because they started pandering to the extremists in their party, not... the other way around. And naturally enough, the general population started getting leery.

As for issues they've won on, I couldn't speak in regards to white house level stuff, but they've been doing plenty of damage winning on lower levels all over the place. Admittedly that's a lot due to gerrymandering and whatnot more than popular appeal but *shrugs*

Kiiinda' missed the meaning of that. Not caring about the person -- caring about the person working for the competition. If you didn't want that to happen, you'd hire them and keep the talent to yourself (or, as I was suggesting, direct them towards a non-competitive business and get some win-win-win going on).

Beyond that, that's more or less what I mean by the whole social propagation thing. I'd say we want ideologies like Tiru's to spread about, infect the heartless bastards that control a lot of business (or at least provide enough social pressure they act like they're infected, which is pretty close to just as much of a win), and get them to start providing more than platitudes. It would be a nice thing. Not exactly anywhere near it in regards to reality, but...

*shrugs* If they're overqualified, they wouldn't be working in the same field if hired to a position they're qualified for, more likely than not. They wouldn't be competition, they'd be a customer. Which is why you want them hired by bloody someone if you're not going to have the gumption to do it yourself. Among any dozen other reasons or options-- send them to partner companies, unrelated fields, whatever. Use it as outreach and bridge building with other companies. There's a lot you can do with something like that.

Besides, if you actually cared about the person working for the competition, you'd hire the buggers and keep that from happening.

On a positive note: Maybe they're subtly saying 'aim higher [Truean], because this job isn't where you[r potential and skills] might be happy'
Sometimes I wonder if Tiruin lives in the same world as the rest of us :P
* Tiruin stabs Dutchling.
...Then does the same to self.
>_>
Now y'all think I'm not realistic. Woo.
*sigh*
I'm losing faith in you people.
In the best of ways, I guess. But... yeah. Speaking from someone that's been going through business courses for the last bit, and have been talking to a fair number of business owners and high-ish level corporate employees, overqualified usually means one of three things, in practice: One: The person(s) hiring don't want you after their job. Two: They don't want to pay you what your skills are worth. Or Three: They don't expect you'll stick around very long (i.e. they're going to have to spend money on recruitment and training again in the relatively near future). So they don't hire you, because they don't want internal competition, don't want to pay you a fair wage, and don't want someone that can go on to better things (because they will, and that means higher costs for the business). And that's all just... business, barring the first.

The chances of them caring whether you'll be happy at the job is very slim, unless they expect it to impact your performance (which is something employers are paying more attention to, but it's still a very marginal concern compared to stuff like bottom line and personal job security) to a meaningful degree, which... a majority still don't.

World'd be a nicer place if the folks telling people they're overqualified actually thought the person in question would be unhappy on the job, though. It's a good perspective to try to keep and socially propagate around, especially if it were actually backed up by action instead of just empty words. Anyone telling someone they're overqualified should have three other companies on hand to recommend the prospective employee to.

So your arms are around him and he's pinned to the ground, as all know good glomps end with the recipient slammed to the floor. Perfect position to snap the spine or neck, at your preference.

FINISH HIM

Crusader Kings 2 Elder Scrolls mod, so far as I'm aware. There's a let's play over in Play With Your Buddies.

Yeeaaahh, your residence would be abject misery to me. I start sweating around 75F and don't really feel truly comfortable until around 65. Grow more hair, maybe? Or check with a doc. Even if there's nothing wrong, per se, you might be able to get a medically grounded answer as to what's going on, and possibly ways to adjust.

I think one of my lawnmower is pregnant.  :)
Any ideas for a name yet? You could do famous revolutionaries, or famous communists, or famous fascists... The possibilities are endless!
The only acceptable name is Jim Baaaab.

It was a joke. I thought the concept of making a living busking with a kazoo made that clear.
I have heard some absolutely amazing kazoo in my life, so not so much :P

For a renter -- and especially a philanthropist, in a situation like this -- drugs are a flat no, imo. I'd kick someone out for smoking or notable alcohol use on the property, nevermind anything illegal. Taking care of a rental property is bad enough without having to micromanage your tenants to make sure they're not using drugs that are going to damage your property (any involving smoke, at the absolute minimum) or cause the tenant to do damage to it (pretty much any of them, potentially). Nothing snooty about not wanting stuff known to cause property damage and wreck people around your property :-\

Mind you, that extends to legal drugs, as well. Someone wants to fuck up their domicile and their life, they can do it on their own time, money, and space. And yeah, there is such a thing as responsible drug use, but it's pretty much impossible to identify a responsible user beforehand -- that's something that takes extended familiarity with an individual and has to be kept on overwatch even after that, given potential long-term mental effects. All that, more than anything, would be my guess at her concern more than anything necessarily pejorative about drugs.

I hope that ain't a cucco like in Legend of Zelda.
Worse. They're chickens. At least cuccos wait for provocation before wanting to kill you. And cuccos don't even seem to be willing to eat people! They're like non-horrible fantasy chickens.

Yeah, sounds like your mistake there was not opening up the 'u'se menu and bringing forth an animal companion (probably a nighthunter, since those things are the Best Mount) to ride around on. Then probably getting into a fistfight with a porpoise, since those're the only things I can remember that might be waterbound and well capable of wrecking a first level character (well... maybe an osquip, but I don't think those are particularly fond of water) and there aren't woodchucks in the game :P

Or weren't woodchucks, anyway. Dunno if someone's slipped one in or not, heh.

Also yeah, fighting in the water can be a problem, especially if it's early and you're not a lizard. If you look at the square with water in it and press x, you can get a rundown as to what water entails for you. The tl;dr version is "Stay out if you don't have a decent (5-10+) swimming score". Just moving through deeper water, nevermind fighting in it, is a risk if you've got a swim score of less than 4-5. Beyond the drowning damage, it's a good way to lose any potions you don't have in your bag.

I'd guess somewhere around the point someone decided it was a good idea to have egos that could proc random gloom effects. Just about anything can stun just by smacking you, these days. Especially considering that effect can show up on jewelry and whatnot :V

You... could do it any of those ways. One of the ones I won with mostly talked their way out of everything, with a side of stabbing (sword/board), not really bothering with charging or the lance, just the starting holy sword (well, one of the others did that literally -- used the starting +1 holy long sword for pretty much the entire game. Holy is a helluva' brand.). I've actually only charged something, like. Probably five times total in all the years I've played Incursion :P I understand it can get pretty incredibly powerful (though it takes a druid to get things really silly, mostly), but there's more opportunity costs and setup involved than I'm normally willing to bother with. Easier to just stab things and not bother charging at all.

If you're going for weapon swapping shenanigans, I'd probably aim for quick draw or whatever it is, to keep from being murdered while swapping. Or just keep stabbing with the lance. You can back away and re-charge (or back away for the weapon swap), but that involves potential attacks of opportunity and whatnot. Something to be careful with.

... but ultimately the answer to your question is "Yes." more than anything. You can do any of those and manage decently well, it's just a matter of how you work it. Just pay extremely careful attention to what whatever you're charging is wielding. Charging something with a reach weapon is a good way to get absolutely demolished, iirc.
