cooked more of that chicken

it is expectedly good with rice (nothing fancy, just basmati with unsalted butter)

Also if you cook more in one go, it's easier to have a meaningful amount of the glaze/sauce made by rendering back down the seasonings left over, so... now I got some to do something with. Dunno what I'm gonna' do with tasty chicken sauce, but I got it.

Eh, so long as it's not running into blatant discrimination or corruption issues, sure. Pretty definitely it shouldn't be up to a politician to force a sports organization to be less accepting about who it allows to compete.

It ranges pretty far from that, too -- one opposite to illusion would be death and escape from the cycle of reincarnation, ferex, as the output of our senses and interaction with the world is considered an illusion rather than something genuinely real.

As you note, gotta' figure out which illusion you're talking about first, otherwise you're going to have contradictory answers for its opposite :V

We see the exact opposite happening with male to female trans-genders.
I mean, last I paid attention we don't actually see that, though?

You know I haven't played any of these yet but when I read the comments... Video game customers are allmost exclusively insufferable idiots aren't they?
ftfy, ha

... but seriously, nah, most game buyers don't go so far as to comment to begin with. You're seeing a fraction (idiot) of a fraction (potential customer who comments) of a fraction (people who buy or consider buying a witcher game) of game buyers. That's not even a little exclusive, it's just annoyingly loud.

In also fucking wild news, the GOP governor of utah actually vetoed the trans athlete ban (couldn't be arsed to find a better link, so have a twitter post) their legislature put on their desk. Weirdest thing I've seen from the GOP this month, I think.

Basically, yeah, except it doesn't take too long and I didn't brown it or anything before adding the water and stuff. Or simmer it, for that matter. So braising adjacent, I guess? Definitely similar execution, regardless.

Haven't cooked or watched folks braise stuff to recognize it offhand, heh.

e: iirc my dad used to do something similar to steak with dr. pepper; he'd add like half a can or something like that right at the start of cooking. Haven't been able to remember the exact process involved, but whatever it was, for all the man's myriad faults, he made the best damn steak I've ever eaten at any point in my life.

in any case my belly is now full of home cooked french fries and pseudo-braised chicken, so good

Like, I don't know what it's called, but I've started doing this thing with pan cooking chicken, where you chop it into pieces and then add your seasoning (tonight is lemon juice and curry powder and teriyaki marinade) and enough water to bring the mix up to about halfway up the bits, and then just... cook around medium heat until the liquid's mostly boiled away, stirring occasionally. It makes really, really good chicken.

e: it makes chicken that looks like this

e2: sweet hell i did that thing where i didn't cook nearly enough of this stuff again

the coin flip to decide how many chicken breasts i was going to feed myself tonight betrayed me ;_;

I used to like doing no death ermor pretenders in the earlier dominions. Wouldn't even for a second suggest it's even a little multiplayer viable, though, or even particularly singleplayer, either. The start for it is just way, way too slow, heh. Even having it on a strong chassis for early push and/or research is just viciously slow going. No clue if D5 makes it any easier or not, but I'd be surprised if it did.

They really, really aren't these days, and largely never have been. Very much not the topic for the laugh thread, though.
...and just how familiar are you with the actual job of law enforcement?
Pretty damn familiar considering both family and family friends have the job, nevermind everything else. They're absolutely nothing like janitors, and calling the folks they deal with the most society's "shit" is a pretty fucked up sentiment to begin with :-\

i pronounce "gif" like "jif" because it immediately looked like "gib", a word I was already familiar with, which is pronounced the same as "jib", as it's short for "giblet", which is, in fact, pronounced "jiblet"
Except when it isn't :P

I've heard giblet pronounced like it's spelled plenty often. Similarly most of the time I've heard gib pronounced, it's not been the jib (which is unsurprising, considering the harder sound fits the action much better).

... also jib is an entire different word, so.

... that looks like a gundam, though? Idle googling suggests it is, too. Optimus has a different profile, plus the head antenna and hips are fairly distinct gundam.

Deep fried chocolate bars are indeed an actual thing, not just a joke.

As a Scotsman, it is my duty to inform you that you can fry anything.
Even myself?

I bet I'd taste horrible.
Everything long pork adjacent we fry just fine, far as I'm aware, so there's no mechanical reason you couldn't fry long pork. Meat is meat as far as the fryer is concerned.
