What's the deal with suits in muggy, hot-humid weather?
I'm watching clips from Columbo (late 60's) and all the guys are wearing these jackets.  Even Columbo, who's considered unkempt, is wearing a jacket that is *too* thick.  Functional.

Aren't they hot?? Overheating I mean.
It's fucking miserable, yes. I've worn suits enough in florida weather that you're never going to get me in a suit in florida weather again. I'll shank someone before you get me in layers in 100+ degree weather again.

Societal expectations can fuck off, I don't want to deal with heat stroke. Jobs that require a suicidal dress code in florida heat aren't a job I want anything to do with, the people running it are sodding idiots that value something a hell of a lot more than their workers, so screw 'em.

That also works! Honey's kinda' expensive these days, tho'. Lot more than plain sugar, anyway. Still works just fine, in any case.

E: If you want to get fancy I'm pretty sure you can make twists out of pizza dough, basically that with cinnamon and honey for something wonderful. Could swear there's a proper name for it, but hell if I can't remember what it is... something churro adjacent, in any case. Do that. Fried strips of pizza dough with cinnamon and honey.

But yeah, googling fried pie will give you the fried fruit calzone thing. Try something like "frying piece of pie" to have better luck for instructions on frying a proper pie. You can also look for more generic instructions on frying sweet or cold stuff (ice cream is an obvious go-to) and just adjust them for pie. It shouldn't be too hard to find or figure out something workable.

Well... if you got some muns, there's always commission. There's also posting and then begging asking for artist collaboration, or just approaching artists you think might be interested and seeing if they bite.

I didn't even notice more seasons of it existed, I don't think. If I did, I've forgotten I did. Neat, I guess...?

Wait, how have they not done summons before? I know for a fact there's npc summons in earlier fromsoft games -- not as free form or nearly as varied (for all everything except a handful aren't that impressive) as in elden ring, but they absolutely were there.

Tiny army of darkness style heads growing from various places. Jumps to another party member/nearby person if removed. Leave alone too long and they sprout, making tiny fish-gremlin styled clones. Not directly dangerous, mostly, but a thorough nuisance fond of making noises at inopportune times!

e: have one of them sweat butterflies. Not sure how it'd work underwater, but you could figure it out. Someone leaving behind a trail of drowned bugs as they swim would be amusing :V

Senate has unanimously agreed to put a stake into DST horseshit, starting next year. 2022 should be the last year federal legislature complicates states telling that crap to fuck off forever.

It's about damn time.

dun i already answered this

first you cook a pie

then you fry it

As with most sorts of frying like that, you probably want to freeze whatever you're frying before jamming it in the fryer, maybe add another layer of dough or whatever around it.

You can also do the less interesting fried pie recipes, which are basically just pie calzones. They ain't bad, tho'.

nah, it's been over a week, imma doublepost bump the food thread

Today's supper: Stewed/boiled pork meat (saltless teriyaki sauce + curry powder added after it came out the water, browned the pan that would eventually cook the veggies and simmered for a hour), boiled large chunk diced potatoes (cooked in the broth that came from cooking the pork), basic gravy (unsalted flour+butter, black pepper, paprika, also using pork water), other house people also got pan cooked/stir fried onions and carrots.

The meat + potatoes and gravy with a little bit of cheese added is really good. House people wanted it separate, but the one that eventually tried mixing it all together as was intended also reports really good, even to old people tastebuds.

How is this done. Fried pie.
Well, you cook yourself a pie, and then you fry (a piece of) the pie. Think of the original pie cooking as parboiling it. Parpied pie, also known as just regular pie.

Oh... yeah, most of the SF games have something like Bleu, iirc, that your initial impression is probably going to be "Eeehhh", and then particularly once they promote they're an unholy murder machine that can solo wipe like half an end game map. Forget which ones are in which game, though... want to say for two(?) it's the birdonfire and turtle, but it's been over a decade since I played through the things.
