I'm more surprised and O_o than rage'y at that.
It's something I do not fully understand.
It... that kinda' reasoning is very simple. Someone you respect and trust (whether you're justified in respecting and trusting that person, especially in relation to a particular technical field, like medicine, is a different discussion) says a thing. You trust that person -- and trust that they have done the research on the subject -- so you believe that thing.

It's... something I'm fairly sure most of us here do at some point or another. People don't have time to learn the intricacies of every technical field they need to know about or make decisions regarding, so they find (people who claim to be) experts and place their trust in them. There is fundamentally no difference between following celebrity endorsements and listening to your doctor (without doing your own research, or getting a second opinion, which a tremendous amount of people do regularly, and often for the better). S'just considerably more likely the doctor knows what the hell they're talking about, heh.

Skin is boring.
And there's my wtf. Don't get me wrong, I'm down with tats, but calling skin boring is just... have you ever actually looked at skin? That stuff is fascinating and almost infinitely variable. I could stare at skin for, like, days.

I don't, and wouldn't, because that would be more than a little creepy, but I could. Stuff's neat. Just... really neat. Texture, veins, varying smoothnesses, wrinkles and callouses, the fine hairs and distribution of such, the play of muscles and stretching and stuff... so on, so forth, and suchlike. It's like staring at a biological kaleidescope or fractal or somethin'. It needs no improvement to be enthralling.

Which isn't to say it shouldn't be -- tats or whatnot is fine -- but skin doesn't need it to be interesting.

They definitely have chocolate covered bugs of varying sorts -- I know I've seen (like, in person, and watched people eat) ant and grasshopper -- but I'm not aware of if they do or do not have frozen varieties.

... arachnidpops? Don't they actually have something like that, that people eat? Frozen spider?

18801
Yeah, spiders are cool, and very useful and friendly.
I love looking up at the ceiling and seeing all my friends, as they stare back at me with their multitudes of eyes, stretching their mandibles and rubbing their legs together.
... waiting for you to sleep, so that they may feast and frolic upon your unconscious flesh. By not killing each and every one of them, you have damned yourself to a nightly arachnid orgy amongst your hairs and across your skin and clothes.

18802
Oh I get it. As soon as a bug inconveniences you people, why, break out the torches and pitch forks and kill 'em all.

Just think of the poor house spiders. What will they eat?

Oh btw I just killed three house spiders on my way upstairs. That makes about 8 over the last two weeks.
I think it's just because it's mosquitoes, Nj. Spiders have their sympathies, have a degree of use (like killing mosquitoes), and tend to leave us alone more often than not. Mosquitoes deserve nothing but death, and to hell with what dies because of starvation.

Not quite as bad as bedbugs, but more ubiquitous.

... I don't think anyone will complain about killing bedbugs. Those things are one of the proofs against the existence of a kind and loving god.

Mm. While I'm remember, I would like to note the game plays fairly well off a flash drive >_>

It's actually pretty portable, and very low-spec nowadays. Runs on a lot of stuff, haha.

People have! WZ2.1k comes up occasionally in discussion. It's a pretty great game. There's been a couple MP games ran, iirc, though not much more than one or two.

We had one. At least one, anyway, there were probably others. It would appear the happy thread ate it.

You are not, no. If a youtube link isn't accompanied by some form of explanation, or later conversation doesn't shine some light on what the video in question is, I don't even think of following them.

The best links, perhaps, are ones like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5jw3T3Jy70&feature=youtu.be

I...don't think it went over anyone's heads. Since they don't exactly raise racoons for meat, the most likely way to taste raccoon is either hunting for them or running them over.
Or shoot 'em to keep 'em out of trash or whatever. Plenty of ways to get your hand on some raccoon meat. They're pretty common critters.

It's kinda' weird to me to call eating roadkill an insult, though. Folks do. No reason to waste the meat if it's still good. Usually don't bother with smaller stuff (plus stuff like raccoon, possum, and 'dillo are generally ill thought of, quality wise), but venison gets hauled off regular when someone hits a deer. Thing's dead, corpse is still in decent enough shape. Might as well get a meal to offset the vehicle damage, y'know? Least if the cops don't get it first.

18809
I've never heard anyone around here speak positively of the taste of raccoon, though...

Doesn't exactly stop J from eating it, be that her wont, but racoon's not a common dish in these parts from what I've seen. They make decent enough hats, but not terribly good food.

Lies. With sufficiently vigorous origami, you could totally fasten a set of computer specs to someone's ears and nose.

More difficult if it's the actual hardware. You need a bigger face for that, but that's what moai is for.
