Mm... the only thing you'd be missing out on are the nature summons (Kappa, karatengu, nushi)*, though getting a Dai-Oni that can summon Dai-tengu is pretty rare (though if you've got a pretender that can build air boosters -- or summon something that can -- you've got a 1 in 4 chance of recruiting a sorcerer that can summon 'em. Or just trade for one, if you're in MP.). You've got easy access to the death nationals, and your sorcerers (and dai-oni, though if you're using dai-oni to summon things something has probably gone incredibly wrong.) have a 1 in 4 chance of being able to summon konoha tengu. You're not giving up much not having a pretender that's an AWN mix.

Though, that said, I don't think WN would be a terrible bless for Yomi. Maybe not incredible, but not terrible. And then you'd have a pretender that can summon naiads to deal with summoning the part-nature nationals (barring the karasu tengu, anyway, but screw them. AN is kinda' rare.). Assuming you ever want to summon kappa (nope**) or nushi (maybe).

*And, uh. They're not exactly the most mindblowing of summons, those.
**3 water gems and a caster's turn for three kappa? Are you kidding me?

... depends on the summons, and if they scale with caster power. Like, MA Argatha, it's not the worst thing to build an E9 pretender (or disciple) to cast Hall of Statues.

EA Yomi, though? Definitely not. Most (Looks like all, really...) of their nationals can be summoned by their recruitable troops, and only one of them scale (and... you're probably not going to build a successful strategy around spamming konoha tengu). You'd be better off building your pretender to summon something that can summon your national summons, or to build boosters so your troops can have an easier time summoning them.

Now if GUNIN doesn't make a game about sweet tank love, I'm going to shank his ass.

... glue?

I mean, I don't actually know the proper way, but I'd suspect from what I've been observing the past few weeks some silicone-based grouting or glue would work, if perhaps not be the proper method of doing so. Then maybe some of that... tape, stuff. There's specialized tape for water pipes and whatnot.

Alternately, there's probably parts built for doing just that sort of connection. Local hardware store should be able to point you in the right direction.

E: Oh, though, uh. If you go that route. Make sure not to get any on your hands. Silicone adhesive doesn't like to come off skin.

Yeah... yeah, I remember infantry. Combined Arms ;_; That zombie mode. The RTS zones. Hockey, and the other sports games. The CTF and mechanized infantry maps, of course. CM. All the other stuff. I bloody loved that game. It remember it more than I do my middle school years. It taught me more about writing than my english classes did. Near the end days, I think I was cycling between Ratatosk and Hrimfaxi as names. Back when it first came out, I was running as Thor's Hammer V2.0 or something along those lines, then Mjolnir for a while. Frumple was probably in there too, somewhere.

And yeah, Freeinf's been running it again, and, as you note, population issues. Damn shame, considering that it's one of the best multiplayer games I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.

Also I'm not sure it's something to be discussed on this forum, for though while it is as awesome as awesome can be, freeinf's efforts are unfortunately illegal. SOE never released the game to the wilds, and probably never will (iirc, something regarding the netcode is proprietary and used in their everquest stuff, which is the why of it). For which I will forever hate Sony with every burning fiber of my being.

No, B, it's not that decorations are serious business, it's that your mother is bloody insane.

Suggestion: Next time, hide the scour, and only bring it out when it's to be used. I've honestly had to do this before, because I'm apparently the only person in my family that can make a cleaning sponge last more than a week or two. If left out and unhidden, they're ruined in <2 weeks. Properly hidden and used, and one lasts multiple months in good order.

After something like that happens for the fifth or sixth time, you just have to realize that it's time to take things into own hand and hide the cleaning supplies under the floorboard. Some people cannot handle the power of such things.

Eventually *shrugs*

We've got a fairly functional PS2 one, after all. Xbox'll come. In due time, they'll all come home to the PC.

Shift+50

Capitalized 50. Even more impressive than 50, just less comprehensible. Hat tip for being consistent on capitalizing the first symbol of a sentence, though. Even if it completely buggered the meaning.

is it sad that I've actually tried to play games like that before?

I wasn't successful, but I tried.
I completed Fable with no working textures. Except the water, which looked like vomit. It was yellow with green and red chunky specks in it, and it flowed.
... yeah, there was a point I was only able to get WC3 running decently by taking a third party program and disabling... nearly everything. Stuff like shaders, iirc. And colors. Everything was basically a textureless black and white wireframe or... something along those lines. But it ran better!

Being a Southern progressive has long been the shittiest political position in the country. Because you get vilified from both sides.

I remember when I was out in Oregon and someone asked where I was from. When I said North Carolina, their response was "I'm sorry." I just kinda stared at the guy for a minute and then moved on to talking to someone else. (and no, I don't think he meant this in reference to our current state government)
Yeah, NC's fairly alright. It even has mountains. And seasons. And I think industry that's not primarily tourism or agriculture based? Not nearly as much to offer condolences for, there. Do vaguely remember some demographic issues in certain areas, and the attendant problems, but outside of y'all's government you've got some pretty nice places. Have visited a couple, heh.

Like. No candle on north florida, or swaths of the rest of the local tri-state region.

I hope you are able to realize how the way you've gone about saying this is just a little bit offensive to Southerners. While the conservative stronghold down here is a problem, they're only a part (not even really a majority) of our society. Furthermore, I'm getting really sick and tired of people acting like my home is a problem to be gotten rid of.
I kinda' empathize with cutting the area loose. Or at least parts of it. Not sure if you came from one of the areas that actually aren't 90+% non-negligibly violent (did you know my most recent college class was able to cite at least three or four major race fights in schools they've been in, in the last 10-20 years? And we're not talking small brawls -- we're talking dozens on each side, happening in different schools, different areas, etc. It's still a goddamn problem.), viciously corrupt (we're talking dodge federal investigations into pedophilia corrupt, here.), bigots, but... I did. Florida would be better off if my home town and most of the surrounding area mysteriously vanished into the aether. I dig people thinking my home is a problem to be gotten rid of, because it is.

Also understand that a lot of the area isn't exactly like that, and it tends to get better as you go further north (or further south -- mid/south florida is a seriously different place). Still. Too much is. Not something I'd actually advocate, but there's definitely days I half wish someone would just firebomb this hellhole and put all of us out of everyone else's misery. Rather we just improve things than cut it loose, but... it tempts.

I personally prefer non-wrap maps to wrap, m'self, heh. Wraparound gives me a lil'bit of a headache. Left is right, up is down, etc., etc.

Re: Map settings: I'd also be throwing in for higher than base site frequency ('cause that makes things more interesting) and common events (ditto). In the event of a catastrophic early event, maybe there'd be room for one or two mulligan chances -- basically, if someone gets event wrecked on turn three, we restart or roll back a turn (if that's possible and changes event RNG).

I'd kinda' vote for score graphs on, given the amount of beginners we have... it'd take a little pressure off micromanaging scouting and whatnot. On the other tentacle, low-experience folks have a harder time meaningfully interpreting the graph info, so it might be just as much of a boon to leave 'em off. Big advantage for team two, though, in that case... recruitable flying scouts are glorious.

Definitely 10 or 15 hall of fame slots and limited artifact forging. Not really an opinion on anything else. So long as renaming is on by default for something like this, heh.

Map wise, I wouldn't exactly mind Valanis, though sweet zeus would that put the tentacled dudes in a position. Though, can I make the request any non-default maps recommended come with a link, so we can look at it? Search can find it fairly quickly, but it saves a little time.

Probably Depths of Peril. Might have been Din's Curse... never played that one. Both by Soldak Entertainment.
