... yeah. How do you propose to gut it without leaving a significant portion of our elderly either on the streets or further below the poverty line than they already are? There's... considerably more SS does, than that, but that's what you're going to have to solve if you want to "gut" the program before it does more harm.

... would... would that even work? I mean, you kinda' need some degree of cooperation and, well. Half that list probably wants to kill and/or eat and/or steal children from the other half. I guess you could base it on a naturalized slave group. One of those goblin/kobold nations that seem to have nearly as much <other race> as their own.

Alternately, you'd have a very interesting Sburb session. You'd have a lot of cultural animosity to work through/around. And cannibal elves. I mean, the trolls had enough trouble and for all they're from a notably inter-antagonistic species, they're still mostly the same one and generally fairly able to cooperate without killing each other. DF races, well. Beyond being several different ones, they tend to kinda' hate each other and actively try to murder each other. DF's a world where diplomacy occasionally goes, "You chopped down trees, now we're going to kill and eat your children." And that's, like. The extent of diplomacy. Most everyone else just kinda' walks in and starts the slaughter.

@ FD: Sounds like an interesting thing to run with. I'd probably read it once it got over 60k-ish words, heh. Main immediate, minor-ish, thought on reading your blurb was "How are you working with Irukuku?" She's, well. She has a human form, but from what I recall for all that she's physically mature in human form, she's kinda' mentally... not. Smart, but quite young.* Also not human, for all that she has a human form, which as per Green Sun Illuminates, ferex, is a definite thing-you-can-play-with.

* Most of cast is, actually, thinking on it. Last ZnT fic I read that included bits on age gaps and romance was American Geek in Halkeginia, iirc. Though you may be aiming for less romance more bookmance or something, which would be fine. But still, beyond the magical brand, why would a probably-notably-older (since the chances of a 16-18 year old managing to bugger about with Elder Scrolls diplomacy and whatnot is... possible but unlikely?) Dovahkin stick around at all?

I actually had a pretty great first communications class -- it was dual-enrolled with a pretty killer teacher, back in high school. We were occasionally threatened with a wooden prop sword. Then I had to withdraw from the second one (with the same teacher) because between its piece choices -- which were frankly making depression issues notably worse, and is largely what triggered my current general-distaste for "classic" literature* -- and other things I ended up switching over to the local adult school and more-or-less teaching myself the last half-semester of high school. Which was basically the best pre-college school experience of my life, but whatev'.

Later took the second course again and basically coasted through it because that first teacher was quite awesome. Continued to mostly carry me straight up through the bachelors, with a little bit of tweaking for some of the later philosophy assignments.

* I got really goddamn sick of "Poor sex, death, and bigotry." Which is how I summarize the majority of classic style literature. For all that the skill involved in great literature is pretty impressive, it gets boring** thematically bloody fast.
** And honestly frustrating, because no, I don't want to bury myself in conceptual sewage 24/7. You don't have to drown in the banal view of the human condition to get the freaking point. Give me happy sex, adventure, and interesting set pieces, plox.

... yeah, afternoon is after noon, but before the sun starts getting really low. From the point the sky starts getting fairly orange until the next day is evening.

Hoi! Requested crash replications: For summoning in chasm rooms -- just keep summoning at the critters on the island until the error pops up. Continuing will crash the game.

For firing such that the ammo can't land -- just fire directly south. This is a straight CtD, no in-game error message.

Both the save file and a crash dump are included in the .rars.

I'll see about getting these on the tracker, but wanted to make sure it was out ASAP. Because yeah, if you get those two fixed, that will correct probably 70+% of Inc's instability issues as of H4. Those two were literally what was causing the majority of crashes.

Let's assume it's either for warmth or as a sockpuppet for entertaining guests. Maybe some sort of art project. Other considerations are paths to madness and depravity.

I seriously wonder how much a debt sells for. 50% of the original?
Mm... depends on the debt, and how long it's been outstanding. Also who's selling and who's buying. Likelihood of repayment, immediate need of funds, stuff like that. Sometimes it's nearly the whole amount, sometimes it's half, sometime's barely anything, and everything in between. Just... depends.

It's communications. Mandatory for most courses, that I know of. Basically like taking english again. Though it seems that my ability to pull sentences from my ass has waned since I left highschool.
... hrm. College level? Introductory stuff, though. Bleh. I remember there actually being word quotas you had to meet back when I hit that stuff, which I now know is goddamn stupid. If you've got time, you might actually ask the teacher for consideration re: brevity.* Since brevity is. Kinda' important. Everywhere, but business related stuff especially. If they're teaching you to pull sentences out of your nether regions instead of getting to the damn point they're just... not really doing a very good job :-\

But intro stuff is frankly just another level of high school, generally, so. Meh. You'll probably have better luck later on.

I mean, sometimes it takes a lot of words to get to the point. And, I'll admit, it's definitely fun to play and given less than half a chance I will. But it's bad craft to bloat.

*Maybe ask if you can make three or four appropriately sized ones instead of just one piece of crap? Likelihood of something like that dependent on how large the class is, of course.

Wait wait wait...

...people send out job application rejection letters? Where's the two hundred or so I should have? Hell, I can count the number of rejection emails and phone calls I ever received on one hand. What madness is this?
I think they may have, like, decades ago or something? Still, even if you never send one, the technique of business communication is something that should be practiced. It's just... flyme isn't. In this case. That assignment is violently anti-commercial.

Well.

All I can say is that ink would be coming out of your teacher's pay. Seriously. A half+ page of excess ink, for something you're going to be printing hundreds -- for some businesses, thousands -- of times for every job opening? That is a bloody lot of money. Your assignment should be "Make that thing as short as you possibly can and still meet the requirements." Points lost for every line over the half way mark.

But yeah, niceties, you've got a built in strong reason with "Didn't meet the requirements listed for the job". Header and footer gives you some extra space, but if that takes up a full page you're screwing up in an actual business setting, imo.

So just... do what you have to, Fly. And don't pay too much attention to... whatever you're learning.

... do you actually need a full page? Fairly sure "Your application has been rejected", with an appropriate header and footer is, like. Less than a page. Might even been a whole, like, five or six sentences if you bother niceties (Thank you for your interest) and a reason (you didn't graduate high school, you twit, and this position requires a master's degree.).

And seriously. If you can make it less than a page, you have a very strong motive to. Ink costs money. As does time. You have an economic mandate to make that letter as short and as rote as you can. Teacher says something, note to teacher that a business has very strong motivation to make things brief.

Especially a job application refusal letter, since they're probably sending out hundreds of the damned things.

Two, actually, if my memory's not failing me. The big and definite one is Asherath, who rewards favor when you kill stuff that's higher CL than your level. Bigger difference, bigger reward. The lesser one, and one I'm less sure of, is the fact that, if I'm not misremembering, you gain more XP when you fight greater challenges (challenges being determined by difference between level and enemy CL.). If you hold off leveling for a bit, you can actually get more XP, overall.

But it's mostly Ash. Double checking the manual, at least Khasrach also has a CL component to sacrifices -- she only accepts (or, at least, is only supposed to.) kills that are equal or greater power than you. You can also tick Aiswin off if you level up before killing something that badly wounded you. So there's a few god-related reasons not to, basically, and one pragmatic one.

Google breakpad or whatever it is called, is integrated.  It might dump a minidump file when the game crashes, which should allow debugging of whatever caused the crash.  But a save game at the point where it can be reproduced with a series of attempts would be most cromulent.
Sure, sure. If no one beats me to it, I should be able to produce save files and reproduction steps sometime later tonight or tomorrow. Either one of them is very easy to reproduce in wizard mode.

is this a complete game? is it complete enough to finish? I read that there are alot of crash bugs?
It's complete enough to finish what it is, yes. There's not (or wasn't -- not sure how many choose has gotten to, yet) so much a lot of crash bugs so much as one or two that are really easy to trigger. Big two I remember is stuff being summoned around chasms (which isn't guaranteed to cause a crash, but likely) and ammunition landing too far from a viable place to land (read: river streamers are notable crash magnets. Don't fire at something more than one or two squares from shallow water or land.).

Hnnyeah, m'fine with th'provisional teams. Nation choice wise, I... don't really have a preference. Not exactly picky when it comes to nations...

Communication is a question, yes. I'd probably be best with some form of IRC or steam, or PMs. Got skype, but no microphone and I've used the program all of once.
