Hohoho finally found a couple giant mech shows that I love. I mean Gundam's great and all, but I'd always been craving something slightly more grounded and with less talking.

Well, I figure I might just list the contents of my wishlist. Has anyone played any of these, what did you think, and do you still play them?
These I have played:

Risk of Rain: I call this excellent. There's a demo, iirc, so check that out. Do still fire it up occasionally, though I cheat like a so and so. It's fun. I've probably beat it over a dozen times so far. Couple times even legit :P

King Arthur's Gold: I think some folks around here like it? I played a little before it was pay or whatever, was kinda' interesting, but too early in the dev cycle to really sink into. No clue what it's like these days.

FATE: Unless there's a second FATE running around, this is basically an old diablo clone with just about everything that entails. More or less the precursor to the torchlight games. It's not terrible, per se, but not something I'd recommend. Aim for torchlight (or TL2) instead. Either are basically FATE but magnitudes better.

Shadowrun Returns*: Eeehhnn... I've got it. It's probably better now, what with player made content, but the original incarnation was less than glorious. Definitely not bad, but lacking in a certain oomph. It's also pretty low spec. Runs fine on a 2.1 ghz dual core, 4 gig ram, shitty integrated graphics card. Haven't played in a while, though.

Hammerwatch: I really liked this. Never got around to playing multiplayer, unfortunately, which I'd still rather like to do one of these days. If you remember and liked Gauntlet, there's a very high chance you'd enjoy at least a few hours of this. Definitely fire it up occasionally, though I still haven't sat down and beat it. It's pretty enjoyable.

Revenge of the Titans: Played a little, either a demo or something less than licit, don't remember. Was kinda' interesting, but a bugger to cheat on, which left me less interested :P Not a terrible TD, overall.

Just... g'luck, C. Whatever it is.

Dunno if the words offer any comfort, but... chill as much as you can. Get some rest. It'll help more than worry, y'know?

Where do you live? I picked up both omnibuses for about $50 each at Barnes&Noble O_o
... bloody hell that is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a single book thingy. Fifty bucks for four books is bleeding insane, to say nothing of the madness that Amazon was proposing. For trade paperback stuff, anyway. I knew the prices were getting away from folks but damn.

I know my price instinct for books is distorted by thrift/used book stores and the last time I bought from a major bookstore chain being like in back 2000 (as in literally the year 2000, not between '00 and '10.) or something, but seriously...

I went ahead and took the risk of ordering them used. Hopefully they won't miss any pages, or reek of spilled coffee.
Could yar har it if there's missing pages, I imagine, if you consider it a viable option now that I've dropped some money on it. Pretty sure all of the gaunt's ghost stuff is floating around these days...

Presumably choking on the chunk of Ukraine they're chomping on mixed with the incoming economic troubles they've brought upon themselves. From what I'm getting out of all this so far, anyway.

And I would have to be a woman to be a sugarmomma :P
Sayth O'Sirus Obama, Patron Goddess of Trucks and Whores, President of the United States of America.

Or maybe Will just wants you to put on a pretty dress first, I'unno.

Sugarmomma's the female equivalent of a sugardaddy. Basically someone that supports another person in exchange for sexual favors/a relationship. Kinda' like something between long contract prostitution and marriage. Basic concept is someone that acts as your parental guardian (food, shelter, trinkets, etc.) in exchange for snu snu or an equivalent.

As you might imagine, there's less explicit variations, and folks often joke that unrelated people who lavish the other in their relationship (be it romantic or not) with gifts are the "sugar*foo*" of the relationship, even if there's nothing explicit going on.

... y'know, it's sorta' been bothering me. If it does come down to conventional warfare, why would it be WW3? Russia seems to be pissing off or cutting ties with pretty much everyone, not just the west. If things do go hot, what coalition is going to follow the belligerent nation into the fire, especially considering most other non-western powers have serious economic ties with western ones? Russia seems to think it can weather the almost certainly incoming recession that's going to come from pissing all over international diplomacy, but why would anyone else want to follow them down that path?

Last I glanced at research on the subject, the answer is "Probably not". Iirc, it takes a worse lighting situation than computer screen in the dark, over a very, very long period, with other considerations on the side, to actually do much in the way of damage. If your eyesight's deteriorating, it's probably just genetics, or other issues.

Its good that he is finally putting up the source code. He mentioned 'veins of the earth' discussed here. I dont see any forums on the incursion site. Where is this discussion?
Over here. Though yeah, as per Rob's mention, most dedicated veins of the earth discussion is probably going on elsewhere.

Did I mention I once had the opportunity to listen to a talented young lady do mozart on snare drum? It was pretty damn incredible. I still kick myself occasionally for not picking up a recording of it.

... if they're failing to pull off epic instrumental solos with percussion or piano, they, uh. They kinda' just suck. Sorry?

I mean, particularly with piano. Needs singing to pull off a solo? We've got like 200+ years of musical tradition saying otherwise :P And especially in the last few decades they've had folks really trying to rock out on piano, doubly so on top of stuff a decent keyboard can bring to the table. Maybe not as part of the whole radio-consumption arena, but eh.

Percussion solo's a bit more difficult, but if there's anything most music I've heard just kinda' blow at it's doing percussion well. There's an incredible depth and breadth to percussion that goes criminally untapped, on the whole. Folks could be doing really jaw-dropping stuff with percussion, even if they just stuck to drums and didn't bring in the fancier stuff, they just... don't. For some reason.

Though there is Neo's point.
