... sounds good to me. Could use some more variety. Guitar's nice and all, but it's kinda' stodgy if you don't have someone incredibly good playing on it. It's no accordion. Other stuff's more versatile on average, basically, and that makes for more interesting -- dynamic, too -- music.

May the brass section reign supreme in the coming era. Or other string instruments (C'moooon fiddle!). Woodwinds. Percussion. Anything, really. I've had enough non-classical guitar, m'self. Not sick of it, per se, but it's been a while since I looked forward to hearing guitar. And if we're turning away from it, hopefully to the more interesting stuff... all the better. Might actually turn on the radio one of these days.

It came up here, yes.

E: Bloody hell that came up five days ago. Why did I remember it?

... not even the Nairobi Hop?

Heeey... I remember that horsehead groin covering. Think I actually have/had a post somewhere around where it originally generated.

Thinking about it for a bit, I'm starting to wonder what the feasibility would be of running some sort of roleplaying campaign over roll20 or whatever and then streaming the results to be enjoyed by our Bay12 buddies.
It's certainly feasible, if you can work out the timing and whatnot of it. There's consistently been at least a couple P&P campaigns at least trying to run for a couple years now, split between OG (/PWYB) and FG&RP. Probably more than a couple, heh. Haven't really been paying too much attention to 'em.

Still happens, brah Strange. There's a lot of rap music being produced, on a lot of different subjects. S'just a fairly small subset of subjects that hit major consumption. Kinda' just like every other genre that's consumed en masse. Treating radio-normal stuff as the whole of a set of a music is just... so cruel. To the music itself, y'know? So's willfully ignoring the standouts and small-time folks that do really impressive stuff regardless as to genre or subject.

Anywaay. Personally, I've yet to find a genre of music that didn't have at least a few pieces of nice music lurking amongst it. And I've been looking for one to break my streak for better than two decades, now. Just have to cast your net widely and keep your ears open, heh.

... I've heard recorded stuff that sounded better, sometimes much better, than live*. And though it's not something I've got personal experience with, from what I understand it's particularly not-uncommon for higher end sound systems and freaky stuff like FLAC format junk. We already have video resolution that's basically more real than real, after all. No doubt we've got the same in the aural arena.

And seriously, direct pleasure stimulation without the associated physical requirements or limitations? Three days straight, is what I'm saying. You're right it won't feel as good, because it'll be the next level up. The regulatory side of it'll be pretty interesting after it starts killing people, though~

*Mind you, it goes the other way, too, and live can be awesome even if not strictly on the audiophile dimension, but yeah.

*flails* Ah, apologies for the sudden dip. Wasn't warned of incoming, et al, and I hadn't seen this particular person face to face in probably a month and a half or so.

In my defense, I ended up being gifted with something like two months worth of pepperoni and nearly a pound of jerky, soo... *cough* You folks are great, but a glory of meat is of greater concern than AI War :P

Should be good for tomorrow, though.

I'd kinda' prefer our default to be neutral, m'self. I've put an annoyingly large amount of effort into getting used to it (and still not really 100% on it), so now I can spend a minuscule amount of effort campaigning to inflict the standard on everyone else.

You have any idea how hard it is to write a multi-page paper on metaphysics, with examples interspersed without, both without using gendered pronouns and without it sounding awkward? It ain't easy. English innit really built for that kinda' thing, yet.

But we can make it better, stronger, less, uh. Diddley? We have the technology!

@ Helgo: Your ninja berating will be taken into consideration... after this post.

Whooo boy. You're in for a ride. LoL's generally considered one of the less toxic AoS-knockoff communities, but that's not really saying much.

Incidentally, there's an ignore feature. Learn it, love it. Vitriol is to be responded to via mute.

... weird. Are you using the steam version or something? Alt+Print screen worked just fine, just now. Might be something screwy with the video drivers, too...

Hrm. Try windowed instead of full screen, actually*. I popped it into full screen and it gave me a wall of black when I pasted into paint, but it worked fine windowed.

*E: If you haven't already, that is.

And probably in an at-will employment state (I say probably because I don't remember if any of them aren't >_>), which is another way of saying they don't even need a reason to fire him. Giving them one usually isn't a good idea if you want to keep the job.

Something I had forgotten about, and just remembered... had to sit outside and wait for someone for a bit, on campus, partially during one of the major class switch time periods, so I people watched for a little bit. Little bit ago, either earlier this week or late last.

And, just have to say. It's one thing to know, intellectually, that there are major posture difference trends between genders in one's culture, and it's another thing to actually see it. Probably better than 75% correlation (more than three out of four, but not 100%), ladies had their hands in front, lads had their hands to the side, observation group of somewhere between one and two hundred, slight ratio bias toward female. It was... an interesting period of observation. I'll have to do it again when it gets up in the 80-90F range and see if there's an environmental variable... possible, considering this is Florida, and people around here think below 80F or so is cold.

Personally, I find apathy sort of comforting. Which goes to show how shitty my school experiences were. It was just easier to suppress emotion than go through the motions of getting help from the teachers. I can understand why you'd never want to be apathetic though, but sometimes, anger is so much worse.
It... K, let me just say the medicinally induced apathy is an entirely different sort of beast than just about anything you can do voluntarily. So far as I've experienced, it is easily one of the most horrific things you can experience. It is not good juju. There's not much juju in this world that's worse.

I would take kidney stone pain over drug apathy, and I would honestly gouge my own eyes out and slit my throat to avoid the former over a long period. I would take -- did take -- depression so extreme it was inducing psychotic hallucinations, over drug apathy. I will take just about any damn thing, up to and including death, over drug induced blanket emotional suppression. Stopping yourself from feeling is a very, very different thing from not being able to feel. And the latter is just... it's bad. It's bloody horrific. It's not something you want to experience. Ever.
