we're running out of assdrills at my plance  :o
I realize that plance is a misspelling, but p-lance in that context just...

... the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak?

As for not minding, I am a bit upset that we can't have giant armies of ships, though you are professional with jumpship strikes. You have that going for you.
Oh, we could, I'd just be kinda' useless not long into the game due to command lag and whatnot, plus probably dragging the rest of it down a bit, heh. If there's preference towards hoards, though, I'm not exactly troubled by sitting it out :P

I'm still up for saturday, but if y'all have enough folks for a decent game (say three or more) I'll pass. Save the you lot the trouble, yeah.

Aaannnnddd now the teacher has nixed the one goddamn export method that actually works for me. And naturally, being able to export is required for half the bloody course grade. Also found out after some cursory search that quickbooks only works with microsoft office products! Which I don't have and damn sure don't want! Fuck quickbooks! Bugger Intuit with a rusty spiked baseball bat!

I have to say. I will walk away from this course with two things. One, the ability to use quickbooks to a limited degree (which I had well enough by around week two, and is only limited because QB is an utter piece of shit.). Two, an infinite frothing rage for Quickbooks and the bastards that produced it. Literally every time I use that damned program, I like it less.

I don't believe I've yet had the pleasure of working with a piece of software that not only started off being miserable, but grew progressively worse with further exposure. Usually you get more familiar, learn to work around whatever initial bullshit was involved. Not with quickbooks! Where other things have turtles, QB has bullshit. All the goddamn way down.

... isn't that (claimed to be) enshrined or something? Probably in like a dozen different places, but whatever.

And yeah, too bad, there's a market. Apparently at least partially coming from the medical field! Research and whatnot. There's uses for human flesh (regardless of source, really, but I guess there's probably specific stuff for that, too), and given the whole circumcision thing being fairly common in places, well, there's an easy source. Waste not want not.

E: Buggery hell, if this article (Google finds it fairly easily if you search for selling) is accurate, one of the uses is (was?) the manufacture of insulin. If there was ever a reason to avoid getting diabetes...

E2: Holy shit, burn wound treatment too. Apparently foreskin is fairly useful in the field of medicine. I could have done without knowing that, ahahaha!

I've never even heard of 'em, ha.

Sounds like a good idea, though. Sounds like a good thing to make standard, really.

The best thing we can hope for is that we will read a book and not cringe. Oh where are our modern literary masters? What living Daedalus will furnish us with flights of wonder?
There's dozens of them, all over the place, in all sorts of languages, both mimicking the masters of past and forging their own styles. We have our thousand monkeys and our thousand typewriters, and that is but a fraction of all our typing simians.

They're just hard to find. Lot of stuff out there. Have to do other things than filter through piles upon piles of work. Like sleep, eat... that sort of thing.

Speaking of idiots and cars: how common are alcohol locks in [wherever you all live]?
... alcohol whats?

Maybe, not sure.  I'm saying, in a very poorly worded way, the internal politics and policies of the organization may have prevented this stuff from being taught in any meaningful way.  Teaching psychology on human sexuality/urges may just not fit in the 'professional' spy business viewpoint.
... if it doesn't, someone needs to be drug out into the street and shot (... or at least fired with extreme prejudice), because they're doing more damage to their country's intelligence operations than their actual enemies.

Seriously, you basically don't get human psych at all if you leave that out. It's right up there with food for major human motivations. Leaving that stuff out in regards to data processing and whatnot is just... incompetence isn't even a strong enough word...

I'll side with GCHQ here. Between 3% and 11% is a surprising number, in that it's so low. Obviously, there's no number so high that it could be surprising, unless it were to exceed the actual number of all captured images.
Ha. Yeah, I guess they could have been coming from that angle...

19602
... what? Research into human sexuality and sexual urges have been a heavy feature of psych studies since bloody Freud. It's not particularly poorly researched (in terms of volume, at least, if not always quality) or politically uncomfortable. Anyone with more than like an intro to psych course under their belt (and, frankly, probably even them, and plenty of other people with, say, two functioning eyes) should be aware of how pervasive it is. And that goes doubly or more for anyone that should be behind data collection and processing, especially if they're looking for criminal elements and whatnot. The mistress (of either gender) is often enough where/why folks get caught.

Unless I'm misreading your point, which is possible.

It's only funny until you get rammed into by someone doing it.

... the oddest thing about that quote is the use of the word "surprising". The internet has been producing dicks since before it had images. Live video ain't gonna' slow down the nethers train.

Also somewhat troublesome, I think. Folks ostensibly working under a mandate of national security and they apparently don't even know enough about human psych to realize just how sex focused it is? If they can't even figure that out, why the hell do they have the job they do? Their incompetency seems to be hanging out more than some dude's junk on yahoo's webcams.

Mm... yeah, iirc, jungle is separate from forest. Might even be able to have both in the same tile. Lizarddood improvements don't destroy jungle, just forest, so you'll be able to have plantations, mines, etc., so forth, planted right down in your jungles without problem. They've also got this swamp... thing... which is different from swamp terrain, somehow, that they can make with mana. It does, uh, something. Mild yield improvement for lizards, I think. Good for dropping on tiles you don't want to clear out (lost temples, stuff like seven pines, nodes, that sort of junk.). You know it by the tile saying Swamp (not irrigated/irrigated) in the tile description whatsit instead of just swamp. You can't build anything (so far as I'm aware) in a tile the stuff's in, though. Might be able to put it in a tile that already has an improvement, but I don't recall if I tried that or not...

And yeah, about the best thing you'll be able to do with a prophet, early or not, is turn it into a specialist or feed it into l-whatever altars. Which isn't exactly a bad idea even if you're not going for the victory condition -- you've got access to some pretty decent discipline units, and that altar gives 'em exp when they're built, eventually, on top of other junk. It's actually really nice once you've fed a few prophets into it, iirc. Only other thing you'd really get use out of 'em for (beyond the golden age, anyway) would be if you manage to capture a holy city...

And... is that blasting powder, just to the south east-ish? Delicious hammers ;_;
