Yeah, going to the place I got them from would be ideal... but like I mentioned, I've had the frames for like a decade. I don't remember where I got them from :V

highlight of today's dream: lovecraftian burlesque dancer, famous for her "skinless sultana" act

it's one where one of the tentacles she uses like a particularly enthusiastic feather boa swings out, then slams back into her, causing her flesh to temporarily splash out in a cascade of worms, leaving a shimmying, singing skeleton for a few moments

no joke one of the most impressive things i can recall dream brain producing, but seriously, what the fuck dream brain

relevant to the dream, she was actually dead sometime prior to it, with her lover devastated and clandestiningly turning young sibling orphans into merged eyeball beasts because of it. pair of magic detectives come in for something else (loverboy was hosting the participants for some kind of tournament thing, still had some neat stuff going on but far less interesting than the mystery fiction interrupt), find his secret chamber with the eyeball monster squirreled away, end up putting down the monsterous bastard turning children into nightmare things

overall it was pretty damn interesting, but the risque dancer using tentacles and fleshshaping as a part of their act was definitely the most interesting

Yeah, it's a bit more expensive up front, but... it's only like 3-4x, iirc, and prior to starting to use them, it wasn't uncommon for me to break two or three flimsier frames per year. So it basically price matches in a year or two, and lasts closer to a decade. The cost evaluation is pretty straightforward, heh. Vimes boot stuff embodied, basically.

e: though replacing the leg is an idea, now that you mention it. The specific break is amiable towards it (the part that holds the screw split off the move-y bit), and I think I've got an old frame around that might work. Gonna' check that out.

e2: sorta worked, kinda'. other leg is mostly attached, better than duct tape anyway

it just took like a half hour and was possibly the most frustrating thing I've done in the last two or three years, fuck all tiny screws bloody hell

Leg has broke off my glasses, now being held sorta' together with duct tape. Friday at earliest before I can do anything about it. Probably going to cause headaches, blegh.

Frame had a good run, I guess. Thing's at least six, seven years old, probably older. Gone through hell, pretty sure it's been run over before... flex frame titanium stuff is pretty damn sturdy. Finally gave out, though :-\

but yeah, continuing with the pork chops I've cooked the last bit for breakfast

from this, confirmed (had never actually tried it, but it made sense): if you have lemon juice and pepper, you have lemon pepper that just hasn't been mixed yet. Works just fine.

from that, another nice, simpler, pork chop thing: baste with lemon pepper as you're flipping, then in the last bit of cooking drizzle a bit of syrup on them (cane, in this case, maple'd probably be better, honey would like work just fine, etc.). Verra good. Got that lemon pepper flavor that goes great with porkchop plus just a hint of sweet to make it all the better.

It's my understanding you can get really fancy with them!

... you can also dump a pile of meat in a bag full of applesauce and leave it in the fridge overnight and make something delicious. So, y'know. Plenty of space to play with :P

e: also finally got around to trying to make home fries in our air fryer, which, uh. Take potatoes, cut them into 8ths long ways, then half everything (basically cut them into 16ths), season to taste, fry at 400f for about 15-18 minutes. Turns out it's stupid easy. Seasoning this time was olive oil, paprika, black pepper, and curry powder. Was pretty okay! Definitely could have used salt (or something equivalent), but 2/3rds* of the people I was cooking for are supposed to be minimizing the stuff, so.

*among which is now me, which is... probably going to lead to a lot more cooking in the future. It is goddamn impossible to find unsalted frozen or otherwise preprepared food, especially at a price point that isn't ridiculous.

thin cut pork chops, marinated overnight in unsweetened cinnamon applesauce, pan cooked including the sauce: really, really good I did not prepare nearly enough of this stuff holy shit

Wuxia/xianxia undead in general get pretty wild, tbh. They're generally in even higher magic settings than your average D&D campaign, in a situation where literally everyone of note functionally has gish levels (where they learn spells like wizards, but cast more like sorcerers and can pretty universally beat the everloving shit out of someone) and weird esoteric stuff is basically bog standard for even lower level critters. Start reanimating those things and there's little telling what's going to happen, heh.

How would your average D&D party even deal with a zombie that just picked up a river and is trying to hit them with it? Not even drown or whatever, they're using the river as a stick.

I can't get rid of the mental image of Lancelot braiding his pony's manes at my little round table
He (or, well, squires or whatever) legit probably would have braided his horse's hair prior to battle, for what it's worth. That was apparently fairly common across the world, to keep the stuff from going loose or otherwise interfering mid combat. So basically every time you imagine a cavalry charge, remember their horses hair would have been immaculately braided or otherwise tied down :P

Well, they're talking about spitroasting long pig, so I'm pretty sure it's actually describing an increasingly elaborate sexual act, for some reason.

At least they're suggesting to slice the pineapple before putting it inside anyone, which I guess is better than alternatives? Probably.

eh, so's bat's iconic symbol if you squint at it right, just sayin'

There really should be a One Punch Man game, where you're playing a generic JRPG, but all combat is just one button that immediately wins the fight and everyone goes 'Whaaat!?'
I can't remember titles right now, but I'm like 90% sure something like that actually exists. There's rpgs out there were you basically start with an end game character and stomp all over most/all of the combat involved, usually as part of a parody effort or somethin'.

If you're going outside of games, that's probably a sizeable chunk of light novels or similar works, heh. Though, uh, less (intentional) parody on that front, generally for the worse :P

Shit mart, they're getting like three middle managers for the price of one line worker. Why in the world would they want to pay more for that, they've figured out how to get a discount on necessary duties and network with richer fucks at the same time. They're probably pretty sure they've figured out the price point it takes to keep LW there and still dump whatever crap they want to on 'em without causing their drone to leave, so what's their incentive to change?

But yeah, your boss figuring that out and deciding to abuse it is generally a sign it's time to tell the boss "fuck you" and find another job, heh. Probably not quite in that specific order, but yeah. Wage or promotion negotiation is possibly an option, but you have to consider that, y'know, they've already gone and done this shit, mismanaged the workplace badly and tried to heap an extra dollop of exploitation on you along with it -- they're going to keep doing that regardless of if you get a promotion. They clearly don't value you or the business in general, time to stop valuing them :D

Maybe try checking out some of the Kemco lineup? There's probably something in those things that more or less matches that, and they largely match the conditional of "generic rpg" pretty well.

Joke was on past you, snow is ice, just bunches of tiny ice instead of solid blocks. They're basically when the sky decides today is a shaved ice day instead of a pelt-you-with-ice-rocks day. Sometimes winter gives you icees instead of a concussion!

Though it does turn out when you bury your neighborhood in icees it actually kinda' sucks, so. Y'know. Snow!

I haven't seen snow in person in over twenty years :-\
