... is... are.

Those screen shots.

Why are they 3d renders of seiken densetsu critters? Rabite, wolf-dudes from SD3, Death Jester. What is this madness, haha.

... actually, can you folks do that, if you're using them in-game? I know squeenix is pretty vicious about about copyright and whatnot.

Anyway. Points for the rabite. Probably couldn't play even if I want to (too pretty, ha!), but still. Points for the rabite.

You don't, since it got locked and I think deleted? It's something better left forgotten. People got warned, some mutes got handed out, iirc. Some folks came close to getting banned. I wasn't really paying attention at the time, but the snafu that arose, like, echoed into surrounding threads. And other subforums, if my memory's not failing.

Just like with freight shipping, when shipping catastrophes occur, they can get pretty nasty. The arguable difference being that pretty close to all shipping is some variation of catastrophe :P

Sometimes wonderful catastrophe, but...

Another FGRP question! What is this 'Shipping' mentioned in FGRPs?
Question answered.
Contrary to the above article, it can also be done with real people.

It's happened to me.

Twice.
The larger one that gets linked to in that article mentions that possibility, yes. Beyond personal-level, that happens plenty with media personalities and whatnot. Looking into wrasslin' fanfiction is probably something you don't actually want to do.

Other Games / Re: Dota 2 - Terrorblade + Phoenix! Also 6.80 is out
« on: February 07, 2014, 11:34:17 pm »
Well, here's the changes between 6.78 and 6.8:
Quote
6.80
Can no longer leave the map boundaries
Spin Web no longer provides 200 vision
Free pathing is now removed when enemies have vision over you

6.79
 Spin Web
AoE increased from 650 to 900.
Cast range increased from 600 to 1000.
Cast point nerfed from 0.2 to 0.4.
 No longer destroys trees.
Broodmother now has completely unobstructed movement when under the web (can walk over cliffs, trees, etc).
Removed buffer time when leaving Spin Web (you now immediately lose your regen/movement/pathing/invis bonuses).

And... I'unno, that does feel like a nerf to me. No more vision on web, free movement nixed if someone can see you, immediate loss of any web buffs on leaving the web... the free pathing sounds nice, and cliffwalking obviously has its uses, but losing the tree destruction means spin web is less useful to the team (on top of no longer providing vision!). You basically gain (situational, since you probably wouldn't be able to use it escape. Even dust would nix it.) cliffwalking and lose... everything but the movement and regen buffs, and those are notably nerfed by losing the buffer on web exit. Sounds like a net loss to me.

Just... keep the focus on getting out. The thought of moving out of my own little hellhole is all that's really been keeping me going for the last... fifteen years or so? Eyes on the prize and the transience of obstacles.

When they think they can no longer get money out of you, of course.

... least as far as I can remember, Knuckles was almost always portrayed as larger and stronger (heavier, sturdier frame, etc.) than your average mobian, particularly in most of the comics I can recall. It was just less of a, y'know, caricature. Dude had a neck. And wasn't hitting the 'roids. Had a more balanced exercise routine. Etc., etc.

Mostly it's the whole "radical departure from a design that has been around since 1994", though, I'd say. It's a bit... disrespectful, maybe? I mean, change is okay. Evolution of character design is a thing. It's happened with Knuckles before, and it's fine. This is just a bit sudden. "Mario sprouting Megaman legs" sudden.

Robotnik been spiking knuck's food with steroids, apparently. Maybe speed, too. No clue what that's supposed to accomplish besides maybe infertility. Stealth echidna extinction attempt? Joke's on eggman there's more of them.

Or maybe Robotnik knows. Wonder what Julie-su looks like in this continuum. Lady don't need no guns she comes with two equipped flee for the green hills

Really, I think most of the metaphorical "us" just wants the saturday morning cartoons back. Something roughly on the same level, anyway.

Does often seem to be the case, yeah. The pessimist in me wants to say that's 'cause the video card is probably the hardest thing for the layman to compare. Processor speed, hard drive space, ram... usually fairly straightforward. Video card, not so much, which makes for an easy "gotcha," heh.

I learned that curry in chicken breading is delicious. Also I overcooked most of the chicken and it was tough and not quite delicious.
I usually overcook chicken intentionally. Once it's all chewy and whatnot, you can put tenderizing sauces inside. Generally find overcooked chicken to be really receptive towards liquids. It's dry, you see, so you un-dry it, and then it's succulent again and full of delicious juices, while still giving just enough resistance to be fun.

... on the other hand, sometimes I don't, too. Sometimes y'want something you gotta' gnaw at, and jerky is really expensive.

This also isn't about a video game, max. It's about an upcoming cartoon.

What in the name of Zeus happened to Knuckles? When did that happen? And why?

Sharis does a pie milkshake. Never tried it. Their ad is literally "You knew it would come to this."
To be honest, at this point I'm just wondering how you'd make a hot-chocolate-level heated milkshake. Somewhat thicker chocolate syrup. Heated, slightly smoother chocolate mousse. Go down like sweet cocoa silk.

I... I've never tried to boil a milkshake. Have a heated one, in general. It's now on my list. Because... why haven't I done that yet?

... thing is, it'd probably just melt. So the question is how to pull off a sweet heated slurry while still maintaining the milkshake texture. Maybe go 50/50 batter/icecream, then add milk while slowly warming? Maybe... maybe something involving peanut butter. I know it mostly keeps its consistency when fairly warm... really wishing I had the discretionary funds to experiment, now :-\
