I haven't had any cereal in over a month, hans ;_;

Haven't had cheerios in years. Beyond four. Also haven't been in this house for a year yet. So if there were cheerios dropped, it wunnit me. Fair point they're probably going after the garbage instead, but you'd still think, like, mold, right? Happens to some of the other stuff, and raw potatoes seem to go to hell pretty quickly... last batch did, anyway. Probably should have been more careful where I stuck 'em, really...

I have powdered mash potatoes in a box and I don't have milk, butter, or oil. Welp.
... I haven't made instant mashed potatoes with any of those in... a long time.

Well, maybe butter once or twice in the past couple of years? Definitely not consistently, or much when I did. I mostly do cheese, maybe a bit of soy/teriyaki sauce and/or bullion in the water. Add a bit of pepper, maybe shred in some sort of meat (or bacon bits, those work) in. Point being, just water works well enough for instant stuff.

Actually been using the stuff as a filler for... a lot. Ramen, mac and cheese, potato soup, just about anything. Seems to work pretty well, haha! Plus it seems to last bloody forever. For whatever reason, potential stuff-that-lives-off-it (bugs, mold, etc.) just... don't get in the box. Or something. I left a mostly empty one out for a while, to, like. See? And nothing. S'actually kinda' disturbing. What the hell are they doing to that stuff that even the bugs and mold won't touch it?

No. They take money from the wrong people. (Wiki'd)

Besides, I already have a good villian face. :) I could be one of those.
Now now, shadowrunners can make nuyen by stealing from those people, too.

... mind you, if by wrong people you mean the corps that probably ends up getting you killed by their private armies or own shadowrunners hired specifically for counter-ops, but... well.

Mm... it was reduced/free for low income, where I was at in North Florida. Everyone else, and even some of those, had to pay if they wanted to eat cafeteria food. Varying rules are varying, ha.

... not knowing about the internet isn't going to get you electrocuted, nor should it be involving live household wiring. Probably. Hopefully. for the love of all that's holy if your grandparent is taking apart household wiring to install the internet stop them. Unless they're actually a certified electrician/etc. Maybe then, too.

No, there's issues with the breaker box and/or wiring in this house at th'mo, and grandfather got it in his head it was a good idea to remove a (Presumably! No one who would actually know was here.) dead/useless wire leading into said box. Which he did, and shanghaied me into helping (or rather, I got out and helped because if he had done it alone he might not have survived :-\). Wire's out, but it turns out the thing we were yanking out was apparently attached to the box the whole time, when he had thought it wasn't and, well. May have just lucked out a bit. I don't know. I know not wiring et al.

Not entirely sure if actually anger, but it's either this thread or the terrified one. Closer to exasperation, so... here. All I really have to say is nonexistent gods save me from the untrained who "know what they're doing".

I'm pretty sure I just came close to touching a live house wire, and even closer to having to call an ambulance for an electrocuted elderly person. They know what they're doing, though. Can't convince 'em to wait for someone who actually knows what the hell they're doing.

One thing you can do is leave a bunch in a refinery. Make multiple if you don't want them all in one big stack. Doesn't help much with stuff you pick up incidentally, but it's good for "banking" ore proceeds.

At least until you get the pixel compressor, at which point you can make blocks and whatnot at a (pretty serious) loss and stick those places.

Obviously, the first act of united canotland would be to turn their entire research budget to cloning lobsters. We are no longer quite so fettered by the arbitrary whims of biological chance. The entire world could be covered in lobsters, had we but the will.

Odin is literally Hitler?
More accurately, Odin is Hitler, except more competent and better endowed.

Would it be possible to pick up a portable heater? It's supposed to be freezing over the next week where I'm at. -40C with the windchill.
Also maybe lots and lots of blankets. If it's an option. If you've got access to big ones (especially thicker stuff), I sorta' remember sticking them to the wall(s) can help a bit with heat retention, on top of the whole burying oneself in a bedding mound thing. Keep enough of that heat you generate stuck in one spot... it can help, anyway.

Yeah that will negate the environmental problems I guess??
People tend to not waste electricity unnecessarily when they're paying for it. Obviously. That's why you don't have to pass laws against people leaving all of their appliances on, all the time.
They don't. They really, really don't. Really, really, freaking seriously do not tend to not waste electricity unnecessarily just because they are paying for it. Sometimes it becomes an issue when they're extremely poor, but even then you regularly see folks living well under the poverty line leaving lights on all day, every day, or running the TV+ etc. constantly. Even when they're not taking advantage of welfare opportunities! In general, for the majority of everyone else, there's not a concern about wastage or price because even when the effect is tremendous on the net (i.e. on a national level), the effect on an individual is fairly minor. Leaving a light on isn't going to break most people's banks, or even do terribly much to their bottom line. Same for most power-related things. The majority don't have the knowledge or the interest or the flippin' care to worry about the price savings involved in switching to CFL or LED (even with the latter, even with the >=$14 minimum price range, LED costs less than incandescent at this point, from energy savings and massively longer lifespan!), or even a bloody lot of things power related.

So, just. Sorry, GJ, that's not just wrong, it's egregiously so. The fact that it's wrong is part of the reason it's taking stuff like laws and regulations to switch into more environmentally friendly stuff even when there's strong cost savings involved (as there are with switching from incandescent.).

Looking at it, if I had to guess, I'd say a gratuitous amount of unstoppable abuse, and a great deal of grinding (either farportals or advn. parties, for gold -> merchant artifacts). Assuming they weren't just cheating, heh.

Being fair, unstoppable really is incredibly good. So I wouldn't entirely discount it.

E: Oh, and, of course, Track. Every day, all the time.
E2: Woah, the radius on that Track is glorious. I knew it got silly with high scaling, but radius of 56 at 90 cunning? Wow. But yeah. Ten turns of absolute detection of everything and seven of ~can't-touch-this~ can go a long, long way.

Ooh. There was a log. Yeah, I didn't actually read that, because, well.

So, my bad. Conjecture retracted, move along, move along.

Can't it just be misandrism?

... though if it were, it'd still be nice if people were nice without it being because of that, too...
