Bloody hell meteor shower!

It... it wasn't good. Blew the ground all to hell, and then one of them lag-landed right on my head for nearly 200 damage. Splat.

Last time I checked, yeah, though that was a few years back. Think there's still commentary on it on the forum, actually...

Like I said, it was either five or seven. Anything less that didn't have a specific name was just group activities. It's probably important for legalities or psych stuff, I guess. Something or other.

. . .wat.
USA, baby. Prevailing corporate philosophy seems to be "It's not a crime if you don't get caught, and even if you do, it's still okay so long as the fines cost less than compliance." Rather imagine it's not too different in other economies, but eh.

It was actually kinda' amusing, thinking on it. One of the homework problems I did in a business spreadsheet class was calculating how much safety failure for a product was appropriate given a set of variables. Basically, how much it'd cost to absorb lawsuits and punitive damages vs. testing and safety measures. In retrospect, it was one of the most cold hearted numbers problems I've ever dealt with. "How many people can get maimed or die using this product before working to prevent it stops being a net monetary loss?" Naturally, with the initial set of variables it was unprofitable to improve testing and safety, haha.

Fairly sure that requires either one or three more participants. Forget if the qualifying point is five or seven. Think five, but... anyway.

Still possible if there were old *friends involved, though.

The way I'd probably describe it to someone my own age with little or no exposure to anime would be "Power Rangers, with dresses instead of spandex, but probably less giant robots." Alternately, for those with minimal exposure, "Sentai + Uguu~". It's definitely more nuanced than that, but I'd say it's a decent "gist of things" for the uninformed.

The propellers also hurt the player to jump into.
But not the NPCs! Bird people sky pirates have apparently mastered the ancient art of airship ninja propeller dodge.

Unfortunately. I was hoping to make some bank relocating their propellers into the mess hall. And wouldn't that be a helluva' way to start the morning. Go into the cafeteria for breakfast, WHAM. Propulsion device all up in the epidermal layer. Ouch.

Sadness: Removing all the propellers from an avian skypirate airship does not cause the entire thing to crash to the ground. I guess they're just... props. *coughs*

Poor skypirates, though. They're just trying to get a little loot and pillage on, maybe a bit of gun running on the side, and this jackass apex digs holes all through their ship, steals their propellers, and then spends like a half hour* luring birds to attack 'em. What a way to make a living, huh.

Incidentally, editing a pickaxe into something speedy makes... a lot of things a lot smoother, less time consuming, less painful... I'd recommend it.

*Probably more like 10-15 minutes, at the most, but half hour sounds better.

As usual you can vote for more than one game, so support all your favorite roguelikes! Dwarf Fortress is... not on the list this year :/
Yeah, no release this year, heh. Think that's what kept me from throwing a vote at Cogmind and a few other things, as well. X@COM got a vote, along with the customary dozen and some change others. Already looking like T4's going to take it (again), but Cataclysm and ADOM's both giving a good show of things... not bad, really, especially for the relative newcomer.

... the butterfly boost tech makes you a lot more mobile. A lot. Just... I just found it, circumvented the planet I was on in maybe 3-5 minutes, while having midair dog fights with passing birds. Kinda' insane. "Skipping" through the air, you barely ever have to land...

E: So very easy to outpace the chunk loading, though >_<

Even straight up. It's kinda' silly to get an occasional rest in a constant upward butterfly skip because you've gotten stuck on empty space.

Congratulations to Frumple, who in a 3-2 decision has beaten himself for a copy of Demigod!
Victory! I never did like the other contestants. Truly, they were lesser beings.

... seriously though, danke, danke!

... they're intended to serve as the people that elect them intend them to serve. It can mean serving the will of the majority verbatim, or it may not, depending on the society and the situation.

Which is to say, neither 1 nor 2 exclusively, but either, both, or at times neither. It's not a dichotomy, nor is it something that a good representative will cleave to in all situations, nor is it something I've seen representatives expected to cleave to in all situations. Ideally, they are not mouth pieces, but specialists in a particular field (statespersonship, generally), with the skills and appropriate actions suited to such.

In any case, should the one posing the question not provide their own response, after the asking? Contribute when you ask others to contribute, when possible.

I'll, uh. Throw in for Long Live the Queen, tentatively. Depending on how christmas gifts go, I may end up getting it myself.

Character I'd like to see more of... that's actually a pretty tough one >_>

There's probably dozens, depending on if you're talking personality, role (/capabilities), or situation. At this moment, at this time... I'd say a character with some good ol' hot blood! And... and good a sense of theatrics. Style, vim, vigor. Moxie! Probably an awesome hat. Just serious and capable enough to be juuust this side of farcical. Vec, you've seen enough giant robot media to have a good idea of the archetype :P But no idiots! A stylistic, sophisticated shonen character! I like those.

... but hey, bonus round. Capability wise, a nice steampunk inventor-sort is always great. I see a lot of attempts, but what I don't see is stuff that feels like it'd fit in Girl Genius. Latest I've ran into that actually does a half decent job of it is Giacomo (from Rise of Legends, which is pretty awesome from an aesthetics point of view, imo.). Beyond that, a decent reality hacker (magic = science, or something along the lines of gap hax) would also be great... not something I see played with much, but something really ripe for potential (wonderful) mechanical sophistication.

And situation! I'd absolutely love to play something where you're the "little guy", so to speak. My constant "back of the head" thing is being in control (the mayor, guardian spirit, whatever) of a fantasy village. Almost like Majesty, but sans heroes (or much less emphasized) and more city builder/sim. A less epic, more fiddly King of Dragon Pass sort of situation, perhaps. But even beyond that, stuff where you're playing out the supporting cast, being all those side stories and background events that occur around and about the protagonists, that never really get much or any attention. Fleshing out a fantasy or high sci-fi world with the (relatively) mundane hiding in the gaps, gluing everything together stuff. Recettear's probably a good example, heh, though I've never really played it enough to know how much it separates from the item-store base later into the game...
