Well... until you have children, at least...

Wonder how fast pop. levels would fall?
Once you got kids, you get a pile of other sorts of assistance. That's the sneaky part of sneaking in a UBI.

Though I'd actually be fairly confident guessing a childless voucher would increase, rather than decrease, population. The less financial pressure you put on folks, generally the more likely they're going to start fucking... and gods know the state of US sex ed and reproductive healthcare entails that means kids.

The first tomb raider's controls were so staggeringly ass I've never played a game from the series since, for what it's worth. Something about the original 90s PC/DOS implementation was just wildly shit. Don't even remember the details because I've intentionally memory holed it, but good gods did whatever the hell they did sour me hard to every part of the series that came after.

... resident evil has a similar non-place in my heart, though it was the PSX controls instead of PC that did it for me, there. Moral of the story, don't be the poor bastard playing or implementing early PSX era 3D games.

I mean, you can have your cake and eat it, too -- just have the attention point amount be a worldgen/save setting the player can tweak as desired, up to and including unlimited. It's a neat idea I wouldn't mind seeing implemented, but also something that sounds like it would have wildly different sweet spots in amounts from player to player.

So, like. Don't force it, yeah? Have your default amount you design around and let folks change it if they want.

Why would you need a specialized buzzer for that though. Seems like you could just buy a normally branded one for the same effect.
Skin on your arse/groin is in fact different from skin on your face, especially under certain circumstances (for example, old people that have to wear diapers, or something of similar effect, who have particularly thin skin in the considered area on top of strong hygiene reasons to reduce or remove hair). Specialized tool for specialized conditions is a reasonable thing, generally, yeah?

Eh, there's definitely stuff that calls itself poetry that's very literal with a subject that would traditionally be considered non-fiction. There's also long form poetry or verse literature that's novel length poems with a subject that would be generally be labeled fiction. Poetry ranges really bloody far in terms of form and function (especially if you're of the opinion it strongly overlaps with music, which isn't exactly a radical position to take), and at the end of the day I don't think it's any more limited than prose in terms of if it can be fiction or non-fiction.

... fortunately, my job's easy and I don't have to consider fiddly bits -- all poetry is shelved in the 800s as nonfiction and I don't have to care beyond that :P

Does anyone have a good example of nonfiction poetry?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)
The librarian joke is that we shelve all poetry as nonfiction (811 or 821 for english stuff, under dewey), so...

... but yeah, I can't recall any off the top of my head, but there is tons and tons and tons of autobiographical poetry out there, just huge frothing mountains of it, it's like flat out one of the most common sorts that get published and more or less all of it would count for what you seem to be talking about. Just go to amazon or whatever and scope their top selling poetry lists for something like that and you'll find piles of it.

Yeah, I don't recall what happened, exactly, but something about that seemed to turn off a lot of people that were pretty enthusiastic about it for... some reason. I never got the exact details (and didn't and don't care enough to check, 'cause I'm not terribly interested in the gameplay anyway), just that there was something or another that drew a sudden and fairly intense amount of enmity from folks that were initially positive.

So I never considered actually, like... paying for it. Or acquiring through other means, for that matter. But free and clear? Can't hurt, I guess...

my experience with toys was more that no matter how many times you bounced them off other living things, the toys stayed in a similar number of pieces

and even if it didn't you could totally still whang it off someone's head

toys don't break, friend, they simply gain wider area of effect

So, like, two observations.

One, the proper way to make lemon frosting is to just squeeze out a lemon over a pile of powdered sugar. That's, like, it. You empty one whole lemon's juice onto a pile of powdered sugar and stir. You can put a little dash of water in there but you ain't gotta'.

Two, lemon frosted snickerdoodle cookies are incredibly good. "Holy shit what majesty did I just concoct" tier cookies. It was just the betty crocker snickerdoodle mix, I think, with that frosting on top. Pretty sure it was the best cookie I've eaten in the last decade.

I'm sure odin will forgive your gratuitous abuse of zeros as o replacements, so long as you don't actually deface his name with them, too :P

Peppermint frosting turned out remarkably good. Seems like it's a good cooking sign when you bring out the hammer...

For what it's worth nenj, if you haven't seen it already you might want to scope out Smelter. Parts of the art style are kinda' contentious (i.e. it's aping kill la kill in places, so, uh), but from what I've seen of vids it's basically "What if Actraiser, but the platforming and whatnot was actually pretty decent". Less clunky SNES and more modern Megaman X-line 2D platforming, with the overworld being pretty solid Actraiser.

Hypnotoad would only haunt such a thread once, not gon' lie.

Hypnotoad enthralls all, no style is better once seen.
