What's your beef with crispy bacon?
Nothing, per se, but calling crispy bacon -- of any sort -- the best bacon... well.

I guess maybe the best bacon you've ever had. My... my condolences. If you're ever somehow in the florida panhandle, give me a ring. I might be able to hook you up.

... isn't that not the full equation, anyway? If my memory's not failing me, e=mc2 is bullshit, of a sorts.

... ehn. S'a toss up, f'me. Turkey bacon is really good, plus has a number of advantages (easier to prepare, generally cheaper). Its lower quality stuff also tends to be better than low quality pork bacon, at least in my experience, which is nice. Higher quality pork bacon is definitely one of the best of meats, though.

That said, pigs are in the same category as chickens for me (i.e., will happily eat me given an opportunity), while I'm less sure of turkey's man eating proclivities. Not sure where they weigh in on metaphorical seasoning.

But yeah, you can take my meat. I can get over that. You try to take my cheese and we're gonna' have a rumble.

Why are these guys so adamant about not cl- *rollover*

;_;
Morbid fascination made me click.

I better understand where significant quantities of fanfiction are coming from, now.

This is America. Like most every other product we consume with gusto, our guns are mass-produced and nearly disposable. People buy a new shotgun like they'd buy a new tennis racket or bowling ball. For fuck's sake, they might be on the same aisle as the tennis rackets and bowling balls! They're considered a "sporting good" by most retailers.
Heehee, yes. Most walmarts I've been to you can touch, say, a soccer ball (that's not in your cart or moved or whatever. Where they're intended to be displayed at), and a gun case (with, y'know, guns in them) at the same time. Without needing abnormally long arms.

Probably a good 20-30 minutes beating the same goddamn set of calculations over the head with a proverbial hammer. Ended up finding out I was one fucking digit off. The number I needed in a particular spot was a 4, instead of a 3.

Fortunately the last thing I need to do tonight, but... that's always massively, massively annoying.

Odd. Y'all seem to be implying there's laws requiring people to wear bicycle helmets...

... checking, it looks like the current law where I'm at is that's true only for people under 16. Silly USA.

Updated with current entrants and additional gifts. For Nax and Astral, y'all want to handle the drawing for your own stuff or have them go into the random.org pile when the time comes?

Einstein didn't like eggs? That fucker! Now we can't even trust relativity.
Trust was unscientific to begin with. Don't trust. Test. And assume your instruments aren't actually accurate and you're just going with your current best guess. Hope strongly nothing explodes because of it. Science in a halfnutshell.

Straight up, 4x ninja.

If you're actually aiming for sane, assault/brawler (either/or), then siege/sniper/science. Long range dakka is a lot less fiddly than close in stuff.

Also, my one hint, if you haven't noticed already: AoE goes through walls.

Nah, I'm aware that folks hold that stance.

Point I'd make, and point that bugs me, is that it's inconsistent. People are willing to allow folks to violently kill an animal -- and barely blink at it -- but balk at acts that involve considerably less harm. It's a pretty direct equivalent to saying that murder is okay, but sex isn't.

Now, you can say that the harm the sex can cause isn't acceptable -- and I'd definitely agree -- but if that degree of harm isn't acceptable then greater degrees are also unacceptable, yes? If you're trying to be consistent about it, anyway.

T'me, what Scriv's saying is that a clean kill -- somehow -- reduces the harm done to the animal to such a degree that it's less harm than is done by intercourse, and because of that (that it's under some threshold of harm), it's acceptable. I could definitely be misinterpreting -- and if so, no, it's not willful -- which is why I asked for clarification.

*scratches head* Then what were you saying, scriv? You seemed to be saying that a clean kill somehow changes the nature of the act, or that violent murder necessitates... I'unno, torture or mutilation? Clarify?

They're closer to florida the tri-state area. What the blazes do you expect?

Okay, to follow up on Ring Runner.

My initial impression is pretty positive. Yes, arcade-y, but surprisingly decent, at least in the first bit (haven't gotten further, yet.). I've been liking what I've seen so far.

Biggest downside so far is it's somewhat painfully obvious it was intended as an xbox game. The port (I guess?) isn't exactly bad, but it's definitely not exactly meant to be played on a computer. Mouse/keyboard is still quite responsive, though, and outside some UI hiccups (it keeps hold of the mouse even if you're alt-tabbed, ferex) it's fairly bearable.

For those on the edge, I'd probably recommend throwing a 3-5 at it before the offer ends.
