... man, I'd love that. You walk into a room on test day. Teacher's gone, on every desk is a little notecard with the first clue.

Half the class ends up failing because they can't find their test. It'd be glorious.

Yeah... if it's not tartan and (probably) copiously plaid, what exactly differentiates it from a particularly rugged skirt? That utility kilt looked like a skirt with pockets, t'me...

I mean, there's nothing wrong with that, but pants are pants regardless as to which gender wears them, usually. Principle applies.

Indeed, the appearance of spiced cider and cinnamon-y/nutmeg-y/allspice-y things at this time of the year is the only reason I haven't labored to build a giant mirror that would keep the Earth in perpetual summer.

Autumn and Winter are bitches, but they do bring some nice things.
Hahaha, mirror all you want, it would help not vs the giant curtain I'd erect over the sun to keep this hellswamp in perpetual winter.

That said.

Internet back! Few days without. Yet again reminded how incredibly unsettling it is to be without 'net access these days.* Also introduced to the new sensation of it taking days to contact people, since all my phone options went out at the same time.

I don't see how people before telephones and crap lived like that, beyond staying within shouting distance of people important to them. It is so incredibly limiting. And disturbing. Things could be happening, and finding out would be days/weeks distant.

I know I lived like that at some point, when I was younger. But now. It's painful. I love me's the internet :'(

*Especially when it's forcible. I mean, going without out of choice is easy, but not being able to if desired/needed? Awargle.

What happens if they just decide to risk it, and hope Obama breaks at the last moment?
Then we'll probably have front row seats to one of the (the?) worst economic disasters in modern history.

Abandonware is only abandonware if it has been explicitly released by the owner

It could also lose its copyright... though any game currently that is abandonware that way is ungawdly old.
... have any of them actually had that happen, yet? Last I remember, copyright's lifetime+70, and I'm fairly sure there weren't video games that far back. We've still got a bit before that becomes a possibility.

That said, legit abandonware par excellence: Warzone 2100. Released free to the public back in '04, further developed by the community since. Once of the best RTS games of the 90s and, honestly, early '00s. Very nice piece of work.

Though @ Ultimuh: Again, even though a lot of times it's let slide and generally no one really cares about it (So you've got stuff like HotU that has a lot of games up that, frankly, are illegal to redistribute, but no one stops 'em), the legal aspect is pretty cut and dry. If it's under copyright, it's under copyright. Age or lack of being sold doesn't remove copyright. Almost always, if it's not been specifically released to the public by the owner(s) -- and most "abandonware" hasn't been -- it's not actually legal to redistribute. Now, me, I don't really care (and I don't think boss Toad really minds it on a personal level, per se, from what I remember), but the forum ToS is what it is, and should be respected insofar as that goes.

Abandonware is only abandonware if it has been explicitly released by the owner. Long periods of time without being sold, or no longer being able to be bought, does not make the game legal to acquire via means outside what the copyright owner has allowed. So... be careful about that, folks, if you're intending to include links. Most of the stuff called abadonware really isn't legal to redistribute (even if it's basically never prosecuted) and as such is against forum ToS to link to.

Given enough effort, only one hole would be necessary.

They... don't nimbus rods stack with crimson rods, too? So you could have three clouds out, albeit one doing a bit less damage.

Also, there's always tiki armor for low effort farming. If, uh. If you can kill planty, anyway.

Hammerwatch. It's even got a fairly feature complete beta still available if you want to test before buying.

Well. It certainly sounds fairly interesting. My stance would be "Call me back when there's a demo", though...

I can just imagine a flaming tarantula sinking its half-inch long fangs into your tender flesh as it sets your clothes on fire.
This one knows the truth of reality. Setting spiders on fire does not stop them. It merely makes them flaming and angry.

... why would you be jumping jax or yi instead of the support, AP, or ADC carry? Squish the squishies.

... I don't even have the least little inkling of nattering from such a voice, m'self. At all. There's... not really anything remotely entertaining about the immediate future getting more or less utterly fucked.

Don't, uh. Don't actually try to embrace the hawk, though.

That would possibly end with your precious skin in several different places, none of which include you.
