There's at least... five? I think five. Different kinds of spiders. Jungle, two normal (one pre-HM -- web something -- one HM -- brown recluse), two(?) crimson (blood crawler, black recluse. Not actually sure the black recluse comes from crimson, though.). They're largely just reskins with somewhat different stats, though.

Incidentally, anyone got a screenie/name of that one crimson mob that can go stealth (/invisible)? I think it flies. S'not the gas-things... something else.

Yup. Opera, it's as easy as view->images->no images. Other browsers have similar stuff, s'far as I'm aware.

Eh. Push comes to shove you can just turn off images on a browser-wide level while you're messing with such junk.

... they could draft that legislature all they want, but the chances of it actually passing is somewhere between zero and less than zero, because the chances of it backfiring so badly legislation is put in place specifically forbidding that sort of legislation is nonzero. Assuming such legislation isn't already there, really...

Merchant in a snow biome, apparently. The inventories on a few of the NPCs change depending on where they're housed, now.

Smashed three Altars already, thankfully a few were in memorable places nearby. Got Cobalt, Mythril, and Titanium. Neat. Cobalt armor is worse than Molten. No surprise there. I even managed to luck on a whole set of Ancient Cobalt gear in the jungle before Hardmode, and it's hardly any different.
Ancient Cobalt armor isn't actually a cobalt Cobalt gear equivalent :P It's the old version of jungle armor.

Melee cobalt setup's... one more point of defense than molten, and 15% melee speed instead of 17% melee damage for the set bonus, on top of the base armor bonuses (so 17% melee damage vs. 27% melee speed (if it's just added, anyway), 17% movement speed, and 3% crit, total.). The other hats have less defense, but appropriate style effects. It's certainly statistically better, overall... fairly notably so. Mythril+ definitely goes further in terms of base defense, though.

Not entirely cosmetic, actually. There's existent (if rather minute) mechanical differences between the different block states. It can make a lil' bit of a difference in certain edge cases.

Sudden attack of superfluous furniture.

I... thank you, grandparents? I guess? I... I won't use it. The laptop has no use for a desk and I don't really have enough clothes to do anything with them beyond stack then in a little clean clothes stack in some chair or whatever. And there's not really any space in this house to put it, especially in rooms I actually use. And it's already been miserable getting out of the vehicle ('cause I'm sick, and the outside is currently in "gonna' make you more sick huehuehue" mode), and it's not even done yet because the main body is kinda' flimsy and I can't get it out without breaking it into pieces. But... it's the thought that counts. Right? Right.

I keep telling you I don't need this crap when it comes up in conversation. I'm perfectly fine sans desk and chest of drawers. Or anything more than I already have access to. The house only has so much space >_<

Also, anyone know how to get the key to what I assume to be the pyramid. Basically a temple of lizard men in the jungle. I'm guessing it's a random chest item?
Yeah, that's the temple, not the pyramid. Pyramids show up in deserts. You can just walk into pyramids, assuming you can dig up the entrance. Or dig right into them.

Throat. Throat. It's been a while since you've done this. I guess it's due, or whatever.

But. Please? Please stop trying to tear yourself into little pieces, and let me breath. Pass this message on to the lungs, as well. Could do without this.

I swear, these crickets are getting louder every year. With all the noise they make, you'd think everything outside is made of crickets, and that during the day, they just wear disguises to make them look like trees and grass and stuff.
Shit, he knows. My fellow crickets, we have a Knower.

You know what to do.

Yeah, pretty much. Being elsewhere and/or murder. One of the two solves most of Terraria's challenges, really...

Seems like the rod doesn't drop, currently, after some searching. So that'd nix the "legit" aspect.

Technically you could get into the temple if you got your hands on a picksaw without going in (say, someone brings in the altar and a few summoning items from somewhere else) first, but that might not count as legit, either :P

Should I assume that all these temples and pyramids and living trees and whatever else are all supposed to be above ground? Because if so, I have generated a large world that does not have any of these.
The temple definitely isn't above ground. The pyramids usually are (at least a little), but apparently may be somewhat buried, too. The trees should be on the surface, though, yeah. They're the big ones.

Y'know... after accidentally soloing the original HM trio (prime+twins at once due to random boss spawn, destroyer when one of the two dropped a worm) in one night, I suddenly find myself pondering the logistics of getting all the hard mode bosses (plus, perhaps... well, the rest of them, too.) on the screen at the same time.

Near as I can tell, all you'd really need is corruption and a plantera bulb close enough to the underworld to lead things there. At least, providing the rest of the bosses are willing to come down to play...

Golem's easy, EoW needs corruption, plantera needs a bulb. Rest just need night time. Well, and a clothier down there to murder. The bee queen might need some hive blocks?
