So... what? Hundreds of years of planning ruined by Gamzee the Humping Clown falling from the sky?

... I'd be amused.

Hey, percussive maintenance works. It makes the problem go away, one way or another.

Was this shared yet?

Sept. 11th Detroit blackout during a heat wave was engineered by state government official to "send a strong message" to people; official is unapologetic despite the danger posed to senior citizens, law enforcement, city officials, citizens.
Don't believe it has been shared, no. Incidentally, I'm now expecting the city to get the everloving hell sued out of it, even if that doesn't turn out to be a criminal offense, especially if anyone died because of the power outage. Definite injuries, according the article, which... yeah. Gonna' be lawsuits like goddamn, I imagine. For all that the states are somewhat trigger happy on the litigation at times, it's cases like that that are basically made for civil court.

How in the hell did that seem like a good idea under any situation short of absolute emergency? With warning, maybe (extreme maybe), but just sudden, out of the blue? I don't know a proper analogy for that sort of thing. Rode the idiot sybian?

That aside, there's just something special about one of those old-fashioned three-panel chalkboards on vertical rollers.
Gods, yes. If you get a really good one, you can ride it around the presentation area cackling madly and scribbling away. Everyone pays attention when that happens.

Hnn... honestly, from an aesthetic point I much prefer chalkboards to the average whiteboard or projector, m'self. Beyond the whole, like... spirit of it, or something... the text/background contrast is much more my preference. Plus writing on them is much more... visceral. There's a certain sort of vim in writing on a chalkboard that's much harder, perhaps even outright impossible, to achieve with similar mediums (current major ones, anyway). More weight to chalk... a heftier sound and feeling when it's being written with. Other stuff is quiet(er), and generally pretty light. Not much impact on the medium, not the same sort of aural experience. You can (have to, to a certain extent) add a bit of verve and vigor to putting something on a chalkboard, and chalk just has a different heft and feel in the hand compared to the more... sterile... other options. It's the mad scientist's medium of choice, basically.

From a practical perspective, though, whiteboards or something electronic is definitely better. Much easier to maintain and work with, generally. But they're more, ephemeral? I guess you could say. They're the delicate steel and glass to the chalk's hefty aged hardwood. And Frumple does prefer furniture it takes a small forklift to move >_>

24/7, 365,*baby! Any and all light conditions (but incredibly vivid in dark ones), even in m'dreams. I have been constantly hallucinating for decades.

It's one of the reasons hallucinogens have always seemed kinda' meh to me. Other people need drugs to see things that aren't there. Those people are weak.*+1 day on leap year.

... that just means everyone'll end up tied in the end, since total remembrance as a portion of time will round down to zero in (geologically, anyway) short order. Take something like the conceptual "universal calendar" and our entire species is, like. Seconds? Maybe?

I mean... I guess you could fight over vanishingly small fractions of a percent, but that's kind of... petty? Boring? Some people must get satisfaction out of being .00(...)0000000000000000001000000001 instead of .00(...)00000000000000000010000000009, but... not me. Shitty competition, is what I'm saying. Game might be kinda' interesting but playing to "win" (lose least, more accurately) is of so vanishingly small a point as to might as well be nonexistent.

So you find a different game to play. Aim for cheevos or RP or something. Scoreboard's rigged, everyone's tied for first (and last).

Not white blood cells, IIRC. Look up "floaters" on Wikipedia.
Nah, what GO's talking about is a separate phenomena. Floaters are pretty distinct from them.

I get both! And visual snow. Blue sky is so busy it's literally physically painful to look at.

That particular idiot has been doing that for like a month now, Siru. Just... just report them and move on.

But the actual death wasn't just, nor was she evil. She died because of a meddling spidertroll trying to destroy the Big Bad, not because of her own evil actions.
Biggest concern is that the witch wearing red shoes got killed by a house falling on her. That... may count as just, regardless. Oz reverberates, maaan.

Oh aye, pans and whatnot work well enough. Anything clean enough to stick on top of your food and heavy enough to compress the cookins a bit. Just saying the stuff's out there and I'd probably recommend the investment if you're pan cooking very often, heh. Especially anything transparent can simplify the process a lil'bit.

... plus those older style iron ones that basically look like ridiculous brass knuckles are kinda' awesome. Got one back home, heh.

E:
Spoiler: Kinda' like this (click to show/hide)
Cept the one I've got's a bit thicker, taller handle with a bit of an arch to it. Things have some weight to 'em~

Yeah... they've actually got, like, glass (? clear stuff, anyway) things with a handle specifically for use like that, I think. Also grid-like iron thingies. Very useful, honestly. Good for grilled cheese, bacon, various sorts of meat... lots of things that can benefit from a little pressure, really. The non-grid stuff (and even the grid stuff, to a lesser degree) also helps cut back on grease splatters. Would recommend for kitchen stuffsies.
