General Discussion / Re: Things that made you go "WTF?" today o_O

"Why the hell am I playing this damn game fullscreen!?" is one of the oddest notes I've ended a dream on in... a while.

Also, man, what. Neo. I was carpooling with you. I don't know what you look like, and I don't remember what you sound like, but you were driving an old station wagon around and I was hitching a ride. Just. I'unno. Letting you know. Don't read anything into it, it was a bloody weird dream. Dr. Wily was there (looked pretty awesome in person!), picking up some stuff at a gas station while an old friend was shop lifting. Then, I decked the latter and started yanking out the stuff he was stashing, got frustrated with the situation and out came the above note and end went the dream.

What a way to start a day, bleh.

I really have no idea what you're talking about.  Something I've never noticed.

Serious time: I also find it odd. Because clearly you are right, they don't taste the same. I have the evidence of all of human experience vs the evidence of my experience. Clearly I am wrong. And yet they taste like fish.
They've definitely got a similar (if distinct) smell. Most marine stuff does. Which means they probably taste pretty similar, since there's a pretty strong connection between those two. I've never actually eaten crab (or lobster, or shrimp, or crayfish, or anything like that), because they're basically underwater cockroaches and no thanks (okay so memory says they're close to ants, but... whatever), so I couldn't say how close the taste are.

Re: Ostriches: They're pretty ugly up close, honestly. Somewhat majestic, I guess, but not the prettiest grown up antediluvian horror bird around. Also fairly foul tempered, iirc. I hear they taste good, though. Or maybe it's the eggs. Ehn.

Parent tried to guilt trip me into something. It's... surprisingly enraging. Like, I wasn't particularly bothered by it at the time, but about a half hour later I'm having a bit of trouble throwing off the whole anger muscle tension thing. Both somewhat troubling and somewhat confusing.

S'just... dunno. Somethin's off with belittlin' a person or harpin' on their wrongs t'try to change their mind, I guess, and it didn't really start bothering me 'till the subconscious had mulled on it a bit, possibly because that bit was only part of the conversation. Delayed reaction's a bit unsettling, maybe.

Still. Tis a strange sensation, and definitely an odd sort of anger. Don't like it, because as with all sorts of anger it makes me feel kinda' shitty, but it is what it is.

Funny thing is it looks kinda' exactly like probably better than 3/4ths of the dietary supplement type stuff I've seen. Protein shakes, diet drinks, etc., so forth, so on. Cake batter, too. All about the same off-white color.

It's like. I'unno. That stuff. Wheat? Grain. Stuff. Yeah?

Anyway. Takes more than just color. Consistency, etc.

Swarm of bees or swarm of mosquitos?

Your choice.
... depends on the bee. Because I think at least some bee swarms would just flap around and mostly leave you alone if you stayed very, very still.

Mosquitoes, less so. Unless it's all male, I guess. Or made of these cool dudes.

Ehn. It was the one that came from chegg. They've got kinda' iffy reviews (especially for rentals), but... whatever. Was the cheapest I could find that particular text, at least in the period I looked for it. Got the book quicker than expected and in acceptable condition for a used, so... eh. Maybe lucked out this time, dunno.

Also no clue if that little shill package is standard or not, so yeah.

Might have to come up with some kind of proper hedgehog based coat of arms.
Spoiler: here you go (click to show/hide)

Well, there are exactly 8 stickers, so maybe not the Official Seal.  But animals-wise I am pretty into hedgehogs and bunnies.
... including Rabbots?

Ordered textbook online. Came in today (well, all of them did, one of them several days before predicted arrival, but... whatever). Opened box and...

... well, there was the book, yes. There was also chewing gum, command strips, an advertisement for Hulu, and... a canned energy drink. I guess I'm not exactly complaining (the strips might end up useful, and the box itself is far larger than needed for the book, so can maybe be put to use), but... I ordered a book. Not... all this other stuff. Most of which I have no interest in or use for.

Advertising is apparently a hell of a drug.

I just... I wasn't expecting to pull a canned drink and bubblegum out of the book's shipping box. Or anything but the book and maybe some padding or whatever, really.

Cheers Capn. Hat tip f'running another one, HJ.

21522
Could probably get the books for cheaper, and they're more portable.

Think Cript's point is the news/politics machine as is already does plenty of that, and the government stepping in to interfere (more/more blatantly) wouldn't change the status quo all that much, if at all.

21524
Bloody buggery things are expensive and annoying. That's reason enough, aye.

... does sound like a good base for a lot of rather horrible jokes, though. Makes me wonder if there's any relation to Flow-Max.

And that's just the start of the cavalcade of divine themed horrors that could come out of "God-flow".
