Top down 2d in space ship plus somewhat colorful almost makes me want to say flatspace, but I think that's past win 95 era...

Probably one of the metal max games, yes. E:These things.

Just make sure to try the Magicka demo before buying. I... personally, I really should have. None of the computers I have access to can run the thing to a decent extent :-\

Even despite meeting the system reqs with a couple of 'em.

Object acquired: Family's old manual push lawn mower whatsit. Initial reaction: More work, but way, waaaaaay more entertaining. Instead of this noisy boring thing that stinks (gas powered push lawn mower, riding lawnmowers), it's this awesome spinny choppy thing that's fairly quiet. I think I'm somewhat enamored. and easily entertained

Full testing sometime tomorrow.

Also I somewhat wonder if this is what a luddite feels like or something. Maybe the world is ready for transparent lawn mowers, so you can watch the awesome spinny choppy thing on those that are usually hidden. Wonder what that'd do to cost of production and/or safety, hrm...

"Well away from fraternities and vegetables" may in this case mean "in your most disliked neighbor's garden" solving several birds with a single beer buttered stone.

... sounds like something LW would suggest, really.

Cheers mate. Don't suppose you'd have some time in the near future t'give a test game, would ya'? Be nice to see if things work before the actual game, heh.

Yeah I've done that, only with task manager though, and there's no obvious culprit. Though really I don't want to fix it when it breaks, I want it to not break at all.
Mm... sounds like you need to activate seeing processes from all users or whatnot, if you can. To at least see what's causing it. If it's something that requires that, though, it might (doubtful, but not impossible. Most of the stuff behind that toggle is services junk) not be related to the game. And maybe get process explorer. It is Nth times more awesome than task manager, ha.

Hear yeh on the just want it to not break, though. It's always nice when it doesn't...

Hrm... system shock 2, maybe? I'm not entirely sure I'd want it myself (I've played through it before, and while an actual copy would be nice, it's not exactly a priority. I could actually afford it right now, s'just... other things, etc., so forth.), but it's one of those things that, like, some poor people out there have never played and would be neat to offer up. Plus it's nearly as cheap as it is awesome :P

... kick open task manager (or, better yet, get process explorer) and see what process is chewing up the CPU. Possible the program's not closing properly and continuing to consume system resources after you've told it to close.

Wouldn't be Shadowrun without some consumerist suffering, HJ :P

Spoiler: Tenth entry has vines! (click to show/hide)

... I... might be interested. Depends on whether I can manage to get WC3 functioning again... CDs aren't in very good shape, ha, and I've no clue if the game'll play well with this computer. Plus a couple of fairly important things are somewhat missing >_>

Still. See about getting it set up. Was a pretty big fan of the old LotR maps in Starcraft, heh, but somewhat terrible with the WC3 versions of such things. GMT-6, with a fairly flexible schedule for a few more weeks, heh.

Wouldn't happen to have links to the map files you're intending on using, would yeh?

Upshot doesn't have to be good, unfortunately.

People still read fan-fiction? Well, more specifically Harry Potter fan-fiction.
People keep writing it, and some of it continues to be good. Until that stops, people will keep reading. Is not surprising concept.

Hell, I still read Ranma or Sailor Moon fanfiction when something decent pops up, and for whatever reason decent stuff keeps popping up. They've been writing this stuff since before a good chunk of the people on this forum were born, and the train just keeps coming. Is one of the reasons I love fanfiction, yes.

In completely unrelated news... apparently Capcom made D&D into a side-scrolling Beat'em-Up. It's the meeting point between Spikey Haired Swordsmen and Owlbears, and it's Anime as hell.
... just now finding out about this, huh? First released in '96~

Guess the re-release thingy's been stirring up some new attention? You might also be interested in Tower of Doom! Released two years earlier, japanese exclusive. Think it may have been included in the remaking stuffs, dunno. Remember them both being pretty decent as beat 'em ups go.

... so go back to the "demo" version? Ye've bought it, sooo...

Or try working things out with the devs or whatev'.

Well, they're apparently intending fossils. No clue about anything beyond that. Don't even particularly remember if much has been said about the implementation of th'fossils, honestly.

Yeah, nin'd.
