General Discussion / Re: Things that made you sad today thread.

... do you even need to swim to be able to survive that? I mean... jump. Easy to clear that distance pushing off the floor/bed and get over the surface long enough to get some breath. Water, y'know? Keep jumping. Head toward shallower area. I've... actually done that, in pools of similar depth. mostly for the fun of it but still

Kinda' wish I could tread water, m'self. Swim fine, float fine, but that... never seems to work.

Anywaay. It's not really that hard, usually. Just... figure out what works for you, and do that. I'm fairly terrible with overhand strokes and whatnot, but can get across most normal sized pools in one breath going underwater. Or could, anyway, last time I went swimming. S'been a while :-\

So... should be fine if someone points infrared or whathaveyou at your house, right? Fairly equivalent concept t'that. Nothing being stolen, just (likely personal) information being taken without your consent. S'all on the up and up, you could always lead line or house or whatev'.

I... sorry, Novel. I actually have no idea what you're trying to ask. Or... state? The quoted bit in particular I can't parse: Hardish advice? Both personal and likely personal reasons? Is, uh. Is there a difference? What meaning is "and simply being on these boards" supposed to add to the (run on) sentence? "Don't know what to say to either"... either what? Did you mean, "I don't know what to say, either."? Doesn't help that without context, that's... kind of an empty sentence. It doesn't actually ask about... anything. Best response to that and that alone would be along the lines of, "Well, maybe? What subject are you looking for advice on?"

And the second half of that seems to be missing words. "On a thread someone (or perhaps I) called my friend [suicidal] and likely depressed"? Is that what you meant to type? And... the sentence after that. Should probably be "Is it that hard to read [the post] someone is responding to?" or "Is it that hard to read [the posts] someone is responding to?"

Basically, if you're asking if grammar/language slip ups are obfuscating the point you're trying to make or question you're trying to present for answering, to varying degrees... yes. Yes, they are :( Not sure if I could offer any advice beyond the standard practice-practice-practice rigmarole. I haven't actually paid attention to the formalized rules of English grammar for so long I've forgotten most of it. S'all muscle memory at this point, so to speak. Wish I could help :-\

I know the box says four tablespoons of butter, but that's an absolutely retarded amount of butter for anything ever invented since butter existed.
Frumple... frumple does not put butter in mac and cheese at all. The only thing I put butter in with any consistency is, like, cake. Nothing else. And that's only because I don't make cakes often enough to bother deviating from the recipes.

M&C is simple. Make broth out of water -- bit of bullion, maybe some teriyaki/soy sauce, whatever's to taste. Don't use much, but enough for some flavor to sink in. It's quite noticeable even with relatively little. Cook. Maybe throw some pepper in near the end, whatever. Drain (if not cooking in microwave*. Some M&C cooks fine in the microwave.), put back in cooking container. Add included cheese. Add more cheese -- this is the most important step! It is what makes taste and consistency... right. Add anything else -- spices, bits of meat, whatever. Stir well, maybe add water until consistency is appealing. Done.

Ingredients are water, macaroni and included cheese, more cheese, and whatever I feel like throwing into it today. No butter. No milk -- water works fine. No explicit salt -- use bullion and tasty sauces! Salt is weak. I do like to time it, but that's mostly because it means I don't have to pay as much attention to it :P

People don't get to complain about the oddities of my cooking it. No one else in my (immediate, anyway) family cooks tastier mac n'cheese 8)

*Two cups water for standard sized box (~7.25g). Three minutes, stir, three minutes, stir, three minutes, done. Sample available M&C brands until you find the ones that microwave well! Not all will, but some will.

The only curses that actually exist are the ones being talked about over here.

I'm afraid that the universe doesn't actually care about you* enough to dedicate a universal constant to your misery. Sorry, Neo. We just don't matter enough.

*Or any particular individual, really.

E: Well, there's curses in Dom3, too. They're kinda' nasty, actually. Those exist, in a certain sense, and the AI will certainly go out of their way to use them on you, given certain conditions being fulfilled.

If you've got $15, it's at $15, you've played the demo, and you liked it... I'd say give it a go. Dom 3's easily worth $20 or so, and honestly was less of a ripoff than most games at $60. Game's pretty brilliant in a lot of ways.

What's a back got to do with playing the violin (/fiddle/cello/etc.) slash continuing a derail? Is Vector not a fiddle player, too? Should she not get due credit?

Huh. Why would it do that? CR seems to just require supplies to recover. At most, you might need to space out fights a bit, but I imagine it wouldn't be too major, especially with high skill crew.

Drink plenty of liquids. If still exhibiting symptoms after 24-36 hours, see emergency room/doctor. If notable amount of blood comes out of any orifice, see emergency room/doctor. If blackouts occur, etc.

If it's actually food poisoning, be prepared to feel miserable for a while, whee~

But after that you should be fine. Likely still somewhat unhappy, but fine.

... which infinity? If I'm awake enough right now, I'm fairly sure I can think of at least three distinct sorts of infinity off the top of my head ;_;

One of them's not really that complicated, even. X=X+1. Procedural... formulaic? Something like that. Been long enough I've forgotten the exact terminology. Think the actual mathematic concept is fancier than that, but... eh. Infinity's only as complicated as you feel like making it, sometimes.

Temporarily subsumed by a punrage persona, I fear. It is an understandable occurance.

That's probably the minor stimulant overdose talking.

Not sure why it would be, hum...

There's individual steam codes (and just plain downloads, which is fine, too) for, well, everything, so you can just not use the ones for the stuff you've already got.

Meh Hasp. Neither do most english speakers. We just kinda' muddle along with whatever the folks around us are saying.

E: There is something entirely too amusing about doing accounting practice in a spreadsheet program and making the credit amount for an entry a reference to the cell with the debit amount. Debits equal credits, ahahaha!
